Best ice cream on LBI - and I'm confident in saying that. (Rita's doesn't count, that is a whole other category of frozen dessert). I'm all in on the cookies and cream here. Rarely do you find a C&C that is MORE cookies than it is cream, and it is somehow balanced just right. Honorable mentions to the chocolate peanut butter and mint chip, also amazing flavors...and there are plenty more to try. I could end the review here - get the hard ice cream, and even if you go off script you'll be happy with whatever you get. You could ALSO get the banana thing or the ice cream nachos...probably best shared with someone since they are pretty massive. Just know that during peak season there will probably be a wait if you go after dinner. The line may be intimidating, but it moves fast. There are plenty of benches and tables outside if you want to hang out and eat, and some games to play as well. Parking is limited...but you'll definitely find something within a block. read more

I saw my favorite flavor pistachio and had to try it. Unfortunately, it tasted like straight up chlorine chemicals. Way too much artificial flavoring/coloring. Service was 5 stars - We arrived about an hour prior to closing- there were 10 or 15 customers in front of us. The staff were attentive and friendly to each customer as they built their forearms scooping hard ice cream. The Ghirardelli Chocolate ice cream is FANTASTIC! went here with my parents as part of our long beach vacation on Saturday June 8th 2024. We were driving around long beach, and came across this ice cream place. There is side parking and we parked there. It was also quite busy, as there were people waiting, but the line did move fast. They have lots of homemade flavors to choose from. The person who helped us was so nice. I ordered 2 scoops: Cinnamon toast crunch on the bottom, and cotton candy on top in a medium cup. Girl who took care of us, even asked if it mattered which one was on top, i chose the cotton candy to be on top. There are also tons of topping to choose from, i chose gummy bears. My dad ordered 2 scoops of chocolate peanut butter cup in a medium cup. There are tables and chairs, and benches outside where one can eat their ice cream.paid via cash and left a tip. Sat down and enjoyed the ice cream. The Cotton candy was really sweet, and enjoyable, and i enjoyed the cinnamon toast crunch flavor as well. love the cereal too.(and it tastes just like the cereal. ) We both enjoyed our ice cream and it hit the sweet spot. highly recommend this location! Tried a flight; six hearty scoops of 6 different flavors... Every flavor was absolutely amazing! Trying to narrow the choices down was tough but the young man was quite patient. Firstly their ice cream is top notch, very clearly a labor of love! They are closed on Tuesdays because that's the day they make the ice cream, which after tasting their Cinnamon Toast Crunch recreation, by all means take the time you need to craft these amazing flavors! The staff at Ship Bottom Ice Cream (18th street) was super friendly, gave us some great recommendations, and were even generous with the toppings which made the kids super happy (it's the little things in life...). Inside, the building was spacious, super clean and very well kept, while outside is equally clean and well put together with plenty of seating and even corn hole to keep the fun going! If you go, get the Milky Bun (a scoop of ice cream pressed into a warm donut), trust me it's unreal! We will definitely be back, as often as possible! read more

Man oh man was this GOOD! First off, what a cool and interesting building and location. The vibe of the place is awesome with the lighting on the outside. The look of the place made us want to try it out. The staff working was so kind and helpful, and even offered us recommendations and their personal favorites. Wanted to try the new homemade ice cream store in Ship Bottom. Arrived 9:02 PM and was told that they close @ 9:00 PM and turned away. Hmmm...this is new business and you would think they would want to get as much business in a short season or at least get new customers. The house we rented in Ship Bottom was not even a block from this amazing new ice cream shop. We visited three times in the week! The service received was spectacular, the variety of flavors were plentiful and the cost was on average with the local ice cream shop we typically visit in the Philly burbs. The Ghirardelli chocolate was my absolute favorite flavor. I had it mixed with strawberry once, with coffee once and with salted caramel. My husband loved the chocolate peanut butter and the cookies and cream flavors. The shop makes a variety of sundaes and has lots of different toppings as well as three types of cones. The decor is very clean and modern looking and there is a small outdoor seating area out front in what may have been the parking lot. Oh my god! We found our new favorite ice cream place in LBI! The texture is creamy and perfect! The serving size is HUGE! I got a two-scoop (regular), and you can see how big it was. The long line moved very quickly thanks to a team of polite young scoopers. The decor is simple but cute with the notable ice cream lamps. Welcoming picnic tables in front made plentiful seating. And-- the ice cream was delicious. I had soft serve vanilla which was very creamy. Others in my group migrated toward the homemade strawberry cheesecake hard ice cream, which one went to so far as to say it was the best he'd ever had. Sprinkles cost a dollar extra, so we passed on those, that would be my only negative. Cash is preferred to save you the 3% credit card fee. We were told by locals to try this new ice cream shop while on vacation, so we did. The place is cute and well run. Ice cream is good. I am a peanut butter fanatic so I couldn't wait to try their chocolate peanut butter. I was disappointed because it isn't a chocolate with actual peanut butter swirled through it...it is chocolate ice cream with actual peanuts in it. The ice cream is so flavorful and so creamy and smooth which I love. The establishment has an inviting decor with a great outdoor picnic seating area.
