Updating my review. Food is still solid. Menu seems to change with slight variations. What was shrimp scampi is now spaghetti with lump crab meat and shrimp. I had the special tonight - shrimp and grits and it was really good! I'd get it again for sure. The grits were creamy. The sauce is a little sweet but also has a slight spicy kick to it. It tasted good but the sweetness surprised me. We sat outside on the terrace area this time. It was really hot but there was a slight breeze and the terrace section is in the shade. My only complaint is that we felt a bit rushed. Our waitress came twice to get our orders but we were still looking at the menu deciding. We felt pressured to decide on something quickly. And even though we didn't finish our meals yet, we felt pressured to get the check. read more

This was a large wood panel spot with lots of seating including outdoors. There was a good-sized bar present too. The menu was limited, but still a nice variety of options. The service was friendly while the food came out fast. For a starter, a dozen oysters were ordered. The oyster on the day I attended were from Chincoteague. They were extremely large and came out well chilled. These were tasty and appeared very fresh. For an entrée, I had the grilled swordfish. It came with an avocado shrimp salad and haricot verts. There was also an herb butter present on the fish. The piece of fish was on the smaller end but cooked ideally. The flavor was alright. The butter was tasted, but not enough seasoning was present on the fish. It tasted a little bland. The two sides also lacked in quantity. The avocado shrimp was also just decent. I also tried a crab cake, which was rather large. Again, this was not bad. Three more items I tried were scallop risotto, coconut rice and the old beach haven spaghetti. Yet again, all three were okay, but the spaghetti definitely was the preferred choice. The scallops were not cooked the best and was plain too as well as the coconut rice. Will I go back? Our waitress was so sweet. Our food was delicious. The last 30 mins of our dining was weird! There was a young man (mid to late 20s) standing around the dining room, super awkwardly. After much time he came to our table to take our dirty dishes and after making two large piles (and trying to lift them three times) left one pile and said he'd be back for them. Never came back bec he was too busy chatting w the bartender. Our waitress got caught up w another table in that time so we eventually had to find the strange guy to ask if he was coming back for the pile of dirty dishes and find a manager to get out check. Our server was friendly and the outdoor area is very cute. However, be aware that the brunch menu on Saturdays and Sundays is not in addition to the regular lunch menu. It is instead of the regular lunch menu and is more limited. I was not blown away by the chicken and waffles and thought they were overly sweet. I have heard good things about the regular lunch menu so I would give this place another chance on a weekday next time. read more

We went there on Monday night and are going back for the same meal tonight. We love the garden dining, as you have a sense of being outdoors yet protected by the privacy of the flowers and trees. Though they were down to only three servers, you would never know it as Kevin was busting himself to get things done and the manager, Walter, was helping the servers. Well, what can I say, it's very very hard to get a 5 star out of me, but this place did it! Very friendly service, awesome atmosphere, food was delicious, drinks were perfect, music was great, I can't think of anything negative. Prices were slightly high, but I don't mind paying when it good. So this place deserves it. We had a great time and I can't wait to return. Wife had the halbert fish with spinach and it was Devine. Visited on a Saturday night off season and opted for an inside table. There were many empty tables so it wasn't busy or they were a bit understaffed. For the cost of the entrees I expected more of a fine dining service. Drinks were finished and it took a while for waiter to visit. Maybe they were pulled between inside and outside tables? Food was ok. French fries were Parmesan truffle but that didn't come through on mine. Portion of fries was tiny. Wife and I dined here on a Tuesday evening for our anniversary. We had a great meal and some equally good cocktails. Reservations are not accepted for parties less than 10, but that was no issue because we were sat quickly and had great service the whole evening. I must say, it was pretty empty while we were there so our food and drinks came out very quickly. We sat in the covered outdoor area, which has a great atmosphere. The place is very clean and has plenty of decor and live plants. It felt like sitting in a garden with live music filling the air. We ordered oysters for an appetizer. I got the seared sesame crusted tuna and my wife got the seared scallops. Both dishes were perfect cooked and tasted amazing. Although this restaurant is a bit on the pricey side, it is well worth it. Unlike some other restaurants on the island, you are getting the quality that you would expect. After dinner, we sat at the outdoor bar and had a drink while listening to live music. read more

I came here a couple of weeks ago with my boyfriend as we have been here a few other times this summer and had great experiences. This time was beyond upsetting as I have a gluten allergy and ordered a salad (gluten free- as I specified my allergy) and when I began eating it realized it contained gluten onion bites that were mixed into the salad that you wouldn't see at first look. This was my first consumption of gluten in over a year and had a massive impact on my immune system. Not to mention the service was not good. Very disappointing experience. read more

Good experience at Station 117. I like both of their spaces. Inside is a light and airy "lifesaving station" and they have a really nice outdoor dining area and bar. Spaghetti Beach Haven was tasty but light on the protein. 3 shrimp and the crab was an ounce at most. Really enjoyed the garlic toast! Good selection of draft beer. Service was friendly and efficient. Although at night they should ask servers to leave their baseball hats at home. read more

Station 117 has an amazing layout for both indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor arrangement is especially beautiful with the flowers and plants placed near the tables. The inside also has a great design with numerous flags draped throughout and the large windows bring in abundant natural light. I can only imagine how nice it is when live music is playing. That said, the ambiance is amazing, as was the service we received from our personable waitress. The appetizers we ordered tasted great. The General Tso's Cauliflower was incredible and remained nice and crispy. If you don't like spice, make sure to stay away from the red peppers that are served with the cauliflower - it's a relative of the jalapeño apparently! We also ordered the Bang Bang Shrimp (which was a special) and the pretzel bites with beer cheese. Everyone loved these dishes. Like the cauliflower, the shrimp stayed crispy and the sauce was delicious. The pretzels were also good, although I wished there was honey mustard served alongside the beer cheese to add a different flavor component, and to accommodate lactose intolerant diners. The fantastic appetizers, in conjunction with the pretty good drinks (that took a tad too long to come out), led to Station 117 making a positive start to our meal. The entrées, however, did not live up to the same glory as did the prior course. The pan roasted fish of the day was salmon, to my absolute joy. For not ordering that would've left me settling with the filet mignon I did not want to order. There was a great deal wrong with this dish, unfortunately. For one, my salmon was slightly overcooked, and the lemon couldn't make up for the lack of moisture. For two, the green beans were severely undercooked. Half of my table cracked up laughing when they heard the massive crunch that came from my plate when I cut one of the green beans with a butter knife. It wasn't pleasant to eat and didn't mesh well with the salmon. Lastly, the coconut rice was disastrously overcooked and was nearly as dry as the beach sand three blocks yonder. Having the salmon, green beans, and rice together, therefore, made for a dry mouthful. It was desperately below the expectations I had. I think I need to stop ordering salmon in LBI, for this is the second time in two years I have suffered from appalling salmon dishes at upscale dining establishments (see my review of Parker's Garage for an abjectly abhorrent salmon experience). Locohana Tropical Grill is the only place where I've had great salmon. Three diners ordered the scallops risotto, which one of them adored, telling me it was amazing. He was only disappointed by the portion he received, which he felt was too small. The other two had conflicting opinions. One of them told me she was essentially eating pulverized (puréed) white rice; and the other simply didn't like the scallops that were served to him, so too the risotto The poké bowl was received very well. The woman who ordered it loved the fact that the tuna was marinated - I concur that it is a very smart culinary choice. Sadly, one of the diners ordered a burger that took a notably long time to arrive. Upon asking the owner who checked in on our table (love that, by the way), we found that his order was never placed. So we had to wait for the burger to be made. When it did come, however, the Gorgonzola cheese he demanded be replaced with American cheese was on the burger. At that point he felt it inexpedient to return the burger and have a new one made, so he ate what was presented to his severe dissatisfaction. When we left he told my entourage that it was the worst burger he ever had - a drab waste of $20. Those two errors were pretty costly, especially considering the fact that the burger wasn't taken off the bill (he wasn't served the burger he specifically ordered!). Most places would strip that order clean off the bill in a heartbeat. On a more positive note, the truffle parmesan french fries caught special attention from my table. But it didn't impose a change of our overall pessimistic perception of our dinner. For the price we paid, we expected a great deal better from our entrées. And like Parker's Garage, my table was thoroughly pleased with appetizers, only to be slapped across the face by our subpar entrées. "It's not about how you start, it's about how you finish." Considering this mantra, my table left Station 117 angry and frustrated, despite the great start we had to our meal. I cleared my plate, but only because of my starvation in anticipation of what could have been a great dinner. Bitterly, that great dinner did not surface. We probably won't be coming back, unless it's to order appetizers and drinks, and to partake in the lovely ambiance. If you want a great dinner, I recommend you go to a reliable staple, or cook dinner at home and save your wallet from unnecessary drainage. My 2 stars originates from my tiredness of being disappointed with the most important component of a meal. read more

First time here for dinner & I'm impressed. Firstly, call ahead to be placed on the waitlist. This place gets crowded. Good crowd and live jazz music on the patio, where we got drinks while waiting for our table. Everything crackers and butter brought out when we were seated. Started with mussels pomodoro - great portion and of course served with bread. I got the scallops Normandy and it was great - four scallops and a ton of flavor. The tuna plate was also delicious and generously sized. My only complaint was it was an hour wait on the waitlist for a party of 4 - and we counted 7 empty tables outside and 6 inside - which remained empty for the entire hour. This place has improved quite a bit since it opened. The menu is pretty much the same but service and quality have improved. Things I like: the entire raw bar, roasted oysters the sushi (ask for Jays special roll it's not on the menu), bucatini and clams (BEST THING ON THE MENI!), and scallops. The ribeye is hit or Miss but you are at the beach, move along! Cocktails are all made very well! If you have a choice, sit outside either at the tables or high tops near the outdoor bar or under the patio cover. Indoor is nice but outdoors is really much better. read more

They have an indoor bar & seating - along with 2 outside eating areas & outdoor bar. Truly a perfect concept for lbi. Do not come here for food. The lobster roll should not be served. It was saturated with some sort of cream sauce that left my stomach killing me. Barely any lobster- just sauce & bread. French fries came out cold and tasted left over from the day before. The stuffed flounder was amazing the sauce and the veggies was very impressed this summer with station

The food quality was extremely disappointing. The restaurant and atmosphere was very nice. We started with a Jersey tomato salad with burrata. It's the height of tomato season and it was served with an unripe tomato that was so chilled it had no flavor. Entrees were the pan roasted salmon and a Mediterranean grain bowl. The $20 add on crab cake to a grain bowl was dominated by ammonia taste. The salmon was so average it was disappointing. Overall an experience that we will not repeat or recommend. Applebees 2 for $20 would be a better option read more
