It was not the service let me say that. The service was very kind. It was the food. My oysters had pieces of shell in them. And there is a rule that cheese and seafood should never mix. My lobster bisque was a piece of lobster floating in a cheese soup. Gross. My eight year old liked it because he loves cheese but Even he said it was cheese soup. It was Not a lobster bisque. You need a clearer menu and include a kids menu online. Lastly it was far more expensive for what we got. Two apps. One mini plate and a kids meal and a pina colada for $85s! Very accommodating in outdoor area with our pup. Arrived around 6:45pm on a Saturday and was told we had a 30 to 45 minute wait. We went to the bar and had some cocktails and visited with folks around us. We got called for a table and quickly closed out our bar tab. Wait staff was very attentive and friendly and brought water for the dog. Husband and I both ordered Buddha bowl, his with chicken mine with out. He thought the chicken a little dry and we agreed the broccoli was undercooked. He also had a shrimp tempura sushi roll which was very good. Call Renell it was a pleasure training experience and I'd be going to give it another try. read more

We had heard mixed reviews about this restaurant...last summer we enjoyed the bar but friends had told us the food was so-so. We thought we'd wait to try it until it had been open for a while and the menu had settled. Bearing in mind all the extra hurdles with covid, we still were left feeling it was so-so. On the covid front - very clean and safe. The service is ok- we all felt like maybe the waiter hadn't benefited from the most thorough training. Service was slow- we always expect it to be about slow these days, but it was definitely slower than we expected. We ordered the tuna poke appetizer, which was really tasty. The waiter brought us corn chips instead of wontons because a member of our party couldn't have the wontons. We appreciated that but the chips were totally stale- so stale If I ate one from my cupboard at home I would have tossed the bag. 3/5 We wanted to have a light dinner, so we order a couple sushi rolls and a Buddha bowl. I am always nervous about sushi at not Japanese restaurants, but the rolls were all really good- 4/5. I enjoyed them a lot. The Buddha bowl my mother ordered, however, was massively disappointing. It is a dish you order because you expect it to be light, fresh, and healthy, but the entire thing was doused in a sugary syrup. It was so sickly sweet, the veggies tasted like they were candied. It was like a vegetable dessert. After the meal my mom actually was feeling a bit unwell from eating it. I wished we had sent it back. If it was like 75% LESS sweet, it would have been great, but as is the balance of flavors was super wrong. 1/5 I also had a Negroni cocktail...it was supposed to have been made with Hendricks but I think it was made with well gin- it had a harsh gin taste that overpowered the other elements, and it had no garnish or anything. I order them a lot, and it was far from the best one I've had. 3/5 All in all, the quality of the food and drinks was inconsistent, and each item is overpriced by a couple dollars for the quality of the product...but the setting is really pleasant. This is a restaurant that is very attractive but is split between sometimes being good and sometimes being utterly awful. it is a roll of the dice but it's too expensive to have to take a chance. We were seated and it took quite awhile to get our drinks. We placed an order for a pizza and a potato pancake as an appetizer to share among our group. it was taking so long to come out as we watched our server chatting and sitting at a table with friends. She finally decided to get our food and the pizza looked like it was under a hot lamp for an entire day. It was dried out with no visible sign of cheese. it was shocking to us because we have in the past had at least descent pizza. The potato pancakes were described by one of our party as a soggy baby diaper. It was inedible. We waited for our main course for so long we gave up and told the server we didn't want to wait any longer and judging by the quality of our appetizer, we weren't hopeful. So enter at your own peril. They may ignore you, serve awful food, take a lot of money from you all with a bad attitude. I don't know how they stay in business because there are many excellent restaurants all around them. read more

Don't judge a book by its cover. They draw you in with the beautiful ambience, but overall the place is a real f*cking stinker and so disappointing when you think about how much you pay for it. The place has a fancy pants menu with items such as salmon and white asparagus so they can jack up the prices, but nobody seems to know how to cook it. The short version is the food is extremely overpriced and is extremely gross. We paid $190.00 for food that we ended up not eating because it was inedible. This wasn't a "tough it out" meal where we ended up eating it anyway; we honestly could not eat the food. Drinks: do not order water. It smells and tastes like it came straight out of the bay. We ended up asking for distilled water which was much better. We got a glass of Chardonnay which was a very small amount, and it turned out to be $14. If you come here, check the prices before ordering the drink you normally would. Appetizers and entrees were absolutely horrible. Appetizers: The "crispy calamari" was doused in some kind of sweet and sour sauce and therefore not crispy at all. Way too sweet and way too much sauce. We ended up not eating it. The mushroom flatbread looked like someone sh*t on a shingle and was also extremely sweet and mushy. Didn't eat this. Everyone agreed the crab cakes were the only good thing about the entire experience. If you want an appetizer, we would suggest that. The burrata was also okay. Entrees: We got the salmon oreganata which was $27.00 down the tubes. The white asparagus is puréed like a senior citizen food and the sad salmon is slapped on top of the white mush. It is the consistency of baby food and great if you forget your dentures. We got the prosciutto encrusted chicken. It was absolutely terrible. It was rock hard/burnt chicken placed into the center of what was essentially a swimming pool of oil and pesto. Very mushy and oily and could pass for a bad soup. We aren't sure what this place's obsession is with puréeing everything. We got the station burger. The bread was stale. The burger was "eh" and the caramelized onions were completely overbearing. "117" is stamped onto the burger bun, and everyone at the table was unsure why any business would want to stamp their name on this $18.00 dog sh*t. Absolutely god awful. Overall, they are extremely heavy-handed with the sauces and oil. It is as if they are trying mask how bad the food is in hopes the customer will just taste the sauce. But the sauce is sh*t too so it doesn't really work. There was a lot of effort put into the presentation of the food such as putting sauce swirls all over the plates or funneling the mashed potatoes through a piping bag. Just more attempts to try to justify why the mediocre food should cost more than it really should. Don't be fooled. You can make this food much better at home for only a fraction of the cost--no piping bag needed. Men's bathroom was clean. Women's bathroom was relatively clean but all three stalls had people pooping in them. Gee, I wonder why... We also want to say something about carding customers: we get it. You have to card people and you want to be in compliance with the law and not get yourself or the business in trouble. But when you see three young people sitting at a table and you only card one... what the f*ck? I am not upset the server carded me in general. I totally understand and respect that. My issue is this: the two other people I was with are both younger than me and were not carded, but I was. My boyfriend is 21 and did not get carded. I am 27 and did get carded--based on what? Your personal feeling that I look younger? And that's what the server said. That I looked younger. So I got willy nilly carded based on her personal opinion rather than on an actual policy established by the restaurant. If the policy is for servers to use their discretion, it's still a shitty policy because my boyfriend could have been 19 or 20 for all she knew and she would've given him a drink anyway because she didn't bother to card him. I am not upset she carded me in general, but it was a little shitty to do after you've already given the other young people at the table whose ages you don't know their drinks. No consistency. Unfortunately, I forgot my ID in the car (which I admit was my own fault, not the server's) and we had parked a few blocks away so it wasn't worth it to go get it. So I watched my 21-year old boyfriend benefit from his shaved head that makes him look older and contemplated shaving my own. In conclusion, stupidly overpriced for oily and mushy food masked by sauces and attempts at fancy presentation. Inconsistent carding policy based on discriminatory whims rather than any real logic. read more

Pathetic is probably the best way to describe this place. Every staff member we spoke too had a different answer to our question. 'Why can't we eat at this restaurant with a baby asleep in her stroller?' Families stay away, i guess these guys didn't realise that they've opened a restaurant in a town for families. A little disappointed. We dined here on a Thursday evening in June and walked right in. (I understand there is a significant wait on weekends.) They Do no take reservations, which is a negative. Server and hostess were polite, professional and attentive. Absolutely no issues here. Atmosphere and ambiance were terrific. Food was disappointing. I had the crab totters which were largely filler, although my wife enjoyed her burratta. As for the main course, my wife's stuffed chicken was undercooked and my shrimp scampi was unimpressive. Overall cost with two beers and a glass of wine was $122 (including tax/tip), which was not unreasonable. Not sure I would go back for dinner. read more

Next to Buckalews ( which I should have gone to) this is the second and last tine I eat here. The service (Nico) was fine, atmosphere is great, but the menu has too many "savory" choices. I don't eat hamburger and would not get a steak here because they probably use choice not prime, so I had the Buddha bowl, snap peas, sautéed cabbage, rice and chic peas and I paid ten bucks more for ahi tuna on top. It has no flavor so I asked for soy sauce. The waiter attentively also offered Teriyaki sauce which made an improvement. Still, this food is just mediocre for the prices. read more

Our experience last night at Station 117 in Beach Haven NJ was very disappointing. We were seated quickly outdoors and ordered drinks and a few minutes later, dinner. My friend's drink arrived with a big crack in the glass. Almost immediately before we could exchange it for a safer glass, our first course arrived. Drinks were on the warm side but soups were fine. We decided to share the Seafood Cobb salad. It was $36 and included a huge mound of greens, 2 shrimp, an egg, a tomato, and about a tablespoon each of crab meat and lobster. Seriously? Between the warm drinks, cracked Glass and extremely skimpy very over priced salad, we will not be returning or recommending Station 117. Buckalews next door, however, is consistently good if not exciting fare! read more

We were so excited to try Station 117 because of the classy look and gorgeous outside seating area. Unfortunately, we were let down. Our server was friendly, however he was very nervous the whole time and didn't need to be. When I undid my napkin there was a black hair on it. We ordered the shrimp scampi flatbread and it was so cheesy and on a pita bread, not what you would expect for a flatbread. I ordered the salmon and my boyfriend ordered the scallops. Unfortunately both either feel short. His scallops were over cooked and the risotto was subpar. My salmon was very good, however the pesto was extremely salty and inedible. I think we would only be coming back if we were to just do raw bar and drinks. read more

I came here after reading yelp reviews, many of which were negative. However, we really enjoyed the food and atmosphere here. Only downsides were that the room we were in was pretty noisy and it was clear that the staff were new and the service wasn't very good (not horrible though, but definitely could be better). Oh yes, and the bread sticks before dinner were pretty wimpy. The burger and beer I had were delicious though. I ate at Station 117 this past Sunday for an early pre-drive home dinner. After a day on the beach this was a nice, casual place to grab a bite to eat. With plenty of great options on the menu for everyone - from seafood to burgers to pasta it's a great new option in downtown Beach Haven. The space is fantastic, something the island really needs. With a large outdoor patio with a bar as well as a covered outdoor dining space AND a large indoor dining space there is plenty of room to go around. (they even have screens that come down in the event of rain/ thunderstorms , which we had one passing through while we ate here) Great ambiance. The food was also fantastic, my party and I were pleasantly surprised by the food. A solid lobster bisque, delicious Tuna Poke, a perfectly cooked "Station 117" burger and Ahi Tuna main course appetizer. The presentation was fantastic and it all tasted above average. Think - elevated american bar food. Despite all these, we did hit a few bumps. Including chemically smelling wine glasses that were immediately changed out by a manager. It's a new place, I get it - as someone who worked in the industry for a number of years I get that there is always a learning curve to a new restaurant. Their staff could be better trained / more knowledgeable about the menu AND the drinks/wine but here's to hoping that only gets better as the summer goes on as this place could be a really great addition to LBI. read more

We couldn't wait to check out this cool looking new spot in Beach Haven! We sat in the outside area for drinks ,appys and dinner for the two boys, almost 4 and 1 and 1/2. Great atmosphere, you forget you are sitting just off of Bay Ave, bright red umbrellas providing shade, good food and drinks, although a bit skimpy on the wine. The server was so nice and eager to please! The reason for only 4 stars and not 5 is because we placed the order for the boys dinner with our drink order, and our appys after the drinks arrived, but the appys came out and the dinner for the boys was not out yet. When we asked, it appeared that the order had not been placed. Note to all restaurants: place the children's food order and get it out, please! This is part of their entertainment! I'll never go here again. First off, the hostess was so nasty I felt like a conservative entering the set of The View. She made it seem like seating us on a Monday in her half empty restaurant was an honor for us. As a family of five (3 adult children), we rack up a considerable sized tab. We try and support all local businesses, especially during the summer of the plague, but we'll never go here again. The food was as memorable as a Happy Days spin-off. We came here once last summer and once this summer. I really like this place. We have tried steak, scallops, roasted oysters, calamari and shrimp cocktail. Everything was excellent, except the calamari. It was a little chewy and I couldn't really eat it. The service was excellent, very friendly. I love the outdoor dining area, it was shaded and comfortable. They were kind enough to make us virgin mojitos last summer, but they have a nice wine list. The menu clearly shows what is vegetarian and gluten free, which I appreciate. Overall, it's a great choice for a nice dinner! read more
