He took our drink order which took forever to get and he apologized for the wait. Then waited again to put in our food order and he apologized again that it was taking so long. Asked if we needed anything and then never saw him again until the check. $40 for 4 scallops dinner for two was $145 before the tip. It's robbery. Service was apathetic, couldn't care less. No mgt walking and checking on tables. Two tables down from us had the same look on thier face, like why are we here and what are we paying for! Watching the sun drop over the marina with boats in the background was absolutely stunning.. the perfect backdrop for a summer night. We kicked things off with oysters (fresh and briny) and their flatbread, which was crispy and loaded with flavor. Outstanding experience at Tuckers last night. Entire staff took great care of us and the food came out quick which helps when you're dining with a toddler is tremendous. We went heavy on the oysters which were meaty and fresh. Caramelized mushroom and burrata toast was a great combo and that chopped salad was diesel for what you paid. Gimme all the blue cheese bacon and tomatoes you have. That they did and the spaetzle mac n cheese was perfect. Not overly cheesy and baked with breadcrumbs. What could improve? Food, service, management. The food was, in a word, terrible. How can u ruin a simple burger? Maybe put a 1/4 cup of mayo on it and top it with burned short rib beef. What about a cob salad with chicken? Bury it in mayo (I swear) and top it off with rubber chicken. Then there was the splattered ketchup the server dropped all over the floor AND never came back to clean it up. My granddaughter nearly fell when she got up, stepped in it, and nearly did the splits. Management was alerted. They hemmed and hawed and ultimately deducted a drink and appetizer from the bill and offered a gift card - seriously, a gift card? - never going back. We sat at the bar and Angelina was a great bartender and server. She knew how to handle a busy place. We had the cheese curds and peal and eat shrimp. The curds were the best I ever had and I lived in Wisconsin for a few years. Shrimp was tasty not overloaded with old bay. Just right. House cab and vodka cranberry were fine. When I tried Tuckers Tavern I was not pleased. I went with my whole family. We got the kids grilled chicken with fries and asparagus which was very disappointing. The chicken was very dry and chewy. The asparagus was overcooked- soft and soggy. We also got the kids chicken tenders with fries, which were good but pretty basic and there was nothing special to it. The salmon was the only good thing we got on the table. It had the right amount of seasonings along with some fried vegetables. We also got a side of asparagus with some spicy mayo sauce on top. We ended up leaving the whole thing except for one or two pieces. The asparagus was way too soft and soggy with no taste and no flavor. The side of potatoes was soggy, dry and had too much pepper on it. We also got lamb tacos which did not have enough seasoning. The tuna tacos were also pretty good and we enjoyed them. The tzatziki and hummus with pita chips were just ok. The hummus had too strong of a curry flavor and we barely ate any because of this, and the tzatziki was a little too thick. The chicken enchilada nachos were really dry and did not have enough chicken. They also lacked cheese and had a mediocre sauce. Lastly I'll comment on the service- our waitress Sammy was very attentive, sweet, and helpful. Overall, I give Tuckers Tavern 1 star and I will definitely not be coming back. read more

If you are looking for a waterfront view and fresh seafood this is the place to go. We sat outside on the rooftop with 3 kids and 2 adults. Went for lunch on a Wednesday in late August. Outside bar was packed and the rooftop had one server. She was definitely a little overwhelmed as service took some time, but we had time to waste. Food was delicious especially the crab cake . Thai peanut sauce was a different combination on the crab cake, but it worked overall. The entire restaurant is huge and has 4 bars in it. Would love to go back and experience inside. We stay at in Barnegat Light every year and our friends don't want to drive the length of the island. My wife and I stay an extra night just to go to Tucker's. It is worth the drive. We sat upstairs on the deck at the bar seating for the view and because your server is right in front of you the whole meal. We had a bottle of Erath Resplendant which is a very good Pinot Noir. Came here on a Saturday night in late spring with my girlfriends We had a great time. We were able to get a table right away. We started with some drinks, which were all good. We ordered the flatbread pizza, wings, and calamari for appetizers. The wings were amazing. The flatbread was OK and the calamari was not good For the main dish. It was an expensive dinner for two parents and two kids (who each got kids means) and we all left a little hungry even though we had two apps to share and our meals. I asked for the house rosé, thinking it would be the cheaper, and it was the more expensive option! A 4 oz pour for $18!?! It was a fine wine.. but, really? I guess this is maybe typical LBI pricing but I think there are better deals with just as much dining atmosphere elsewhere in Beach Haven.. Anyway. Tucker's Tavern was the perfect first meal for our first time in LBI. We sat in the outdoor area with high-top seating--it gave off rooftop vibes even though the actual rooftop was closed. The oysters and tuna tacos were excellent, and the coconut-tini was incredible. The blueberry drink, on the other hand, tasted like water. We were looking for a laid back place with beer in draft. We couldn't help but notice the proliferation of mermaid art. I think they are from the same artist. Check it out. We had the calamari to start. It's a heavier batter than you may be used to, but I really enjoyed the hot peppers with them. I had the tuna tacos which have an Asian bent and were very tasty. In our party, we had crab cakes, tuna, and fish and chips. All was good, but we found a hair in the fish. The restaurant made it right, so kudos for that. read more

On vacation from FL, we used to live in NJ and would come to LBI every summer. Multiple family members have houses here. We have been here before. We looked at the online menu again before we came and were enticed by the happy hour food menu. Apparently you cannot get the happy menu on the upstairs deck. Okay fine, we will go downstairs....downstairs you can only have it at a high top or at the bar. We were a party of 6. The high tops were for 3 people each and we were told no when we asked to slide 2 together. You guys lost out on a bunch of drinkers and eaters with this bait and switch. Where do I begin? We had reservations for 4 at 5:30 Saturday evening 9/20/25. When we arrived, we came in the back door from the parking lot to see a sign about 20 feet inside to check in at the front host stand. When checking in, the maitre d had a sour look on his face. No smile, no greeting, just "Follow him" pointing to another man who looked like a bouncer for a NY nightclub. Again, no smile, no greeting. Very unwelcoming arrival. Next, we were seated at a table for 6 just inside the back door where people were constantly walking around our table coming in and going out. The table was also located between the 2 doors to the kitchen with staff constantly circling our table including the bus help with bus pans full of dirty dishes and waste, one of whom knocked into my back when I was eating. I suspect that the table had been moved into the direct path of the back door entrance to clear the most convenient pathway arc to the kitchen door for the bus help. I wondered how the fire marshal would react to seeing a table of diners smack dab in front of an exit. Is this not a fire code violation? The server was over the top enthusiastic. She took our drink orders, then came back to tell me that the restaurant ran out of the beer I ordered. I ordered a glass of wine. When she brought the drinks to our table, she took appetizer orders. I ordered the clam and scallop chowder. A food runner delivered the soup fairly quickly, but neither the server nor the food runner brought a spoon. I called out to the food runner that I needed a spoon. She looked at me like I was from Mars. A minute later, the server came to the table with a spoon in her hand and asked, "Did you need a spoon?" I said nothing except thank you. I started eating the soup when my wife asked me how it was. I said "It would be better if it was hot." It was a few degrees warmer than room temperature. As she rolled her eyes at me, my wife said, "Well, why don't you send it back?" After the the server had taken dinner orders, I handed her the soup plate and asked her to heat it up. She said something like "Oh, they must have just put it out." The soup came back. It was very salty and mostly potatoes and celery. After searching a while, I did find the lone scallop. There were probably about 5 clam pieces in there too. Not something I would ever order again. For dinner, the ladies both ordered Caesar salad with shrimp. My BIL ordered fish & chips. After learning from the server that the tuna was served seared and rare, I decided to order a cheeseburger (foolishly) medium rare. When delivered by the food runners, both the fish & chips and the burger came with fries. My dish had a very small portion of ketchup. My BIL's had none. My wife asked, "Do you need ketchup?" We looked for our server hoping she'd come by to ask if everything was ok. No follow up. After waiting for a few minutes, I flagged down one of the busboys on his way to the kitchen with a load of dirty dishes and asked him to please bring us some ketchup. Tick, tick, tick, tick - no ketchup. Then what appeared to be the dining room manager came by the table and asked "How was everything?" I told her we had two plates of fries in front of us, but no ketchup. Could she please bring us some ketchup for them. She had the confused, fearful deer-in-the-headlights look on her face. Poor thing must have been shocked that we didn't respond "Great!" She left and a few minutes went by before she brought 2 very small portions of ketchup in small stainless steel cups. I said "we need 2 more, please." I mean come on, really? Can you spare it ? Over the next few minutes, our server brought a plate with 5 more ketchup cups. By now the fries were cold. The burger, by the way, was raw. But at this point they had worn me out and my wife was embarrassed enough that I had said anything at all... Ok. Enough said. Sitting at a table in front of the back door and between the kitchen entrance and exit; lukewarm soup served with no spoon; fries with no ketchup. Managers appeared to be interested in running a business where the customers were an inconvenience or necessary evil. Felt like eating on a pig farm, the difference being that the pig farmers that slop the pigs care about the pigs. Not so here. read more

We've been going to Tuckers for years to celebrate and have always enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Sadly, that wasn't the case this time. My hot pasta dish came out cold, my son ordered a medium-rare burger and received one that was well-done and burnt, and my other son was given grilled chicken and asparagus instead of the kids' chicken tenders and fries he ordered. We were hungry, frustrated, and honestly just ready to leave -- we didn't even say anything at the time. To make matters worse, the meal was extremely expensive for what we got. Hold up... i was a little hesitant after reading some of the reviews on Yelp. I don't have a horse in the race and I've never been here. 1st time and i eat 70% of meals out in restaurants and i just got back from Italy. Just to give you an idea of my palate i love all types of food and will try anything once. We ordered 3 meals tonight even though there was only two of us. We need a meal for the Mrs's lunch tomorrow. We ordered the seafood special, traditional hamburger and the hot sausage bolognese dinners. Two drinks and a coffee at the end. The server was Ricky, nicest guy and came back to check on us several times other than bringing food or drinks out. The food- off the charts good. Wow.
