My fiancé and I are big stans of the Delaware Ave Oyster House so we figured it was time to give Terrace Tavern a try on a Friday afternoon for lunch. The vibe is super chill and relaxed and everyone was very friendly to us from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. They also have a great outdoor backyard area! I would have loved to sit out there if it wasn't 100 degrees the day we went! We will certainly be back for that alone. The menu is super enticing. We literally wanted to order one of everything but finally settled on the tuna poke and the broiled seafood platter with the chowder fries. The tuna was fresh and flavorful and a very generous portion. The broiled seafood platter was the star of the show for us. I loved getting to sample a little bit of everything. The crab cake and the scallops were the standouts for me. I could have eaten a platter of those alone. And don't even get me started on the chowder fries. Fresh hot fries with a mound of clam chowder on top with pieces of bacon. Literally what's not to like? The chowder here is one of my favorites. It's made with pork roll and long hots - a true Jersey chowder and a more unique take on the traditional. Terrace Tavern also has a fantastic cocktail menu. There's a huge variety and truly something for everyone. The Pink Flamingo was excellent - fresh watermelon juice, basil, st Germaine, and Prosecco. It was the perfect summer drink on a hot day. Before I start on the food I do want to say that the service was great here. Our waitress was attentive and the manager was super sweet. However, I was served raw chicken not once, but twice. I sent back my chicken sandwich originally because it was raw, and then received another piece of raw chicken (pictured is the second sandwich). My friend also was served raw chicken in her salad. Also I would like to note that two of the others in our party ordered medium well burgers, and they were in fact rare. The staff is great but the food was a let down read more

The outside area is very cute and I have sat out there a couple of times during non peak hours. They don't take reservations on weekends so wait times can be upwards of 2 hours depending on when you arrive. Food wise we are always happy with what we get. Food was so so good! I absolutely loved the seafood, tasted really fresh and cooked well! The steam pot was $70 on a Friday night. We sat outside and listened to the live band playing. Terrance Tavern is the perfect spot for a delicious and fresh fish dinner. They have some pretty good drink specials as well. My boyfriend and I got the steamers and calamari to start and what a rookie mistake. By the time we were done with the appetizers we were so full! Just made it more to take home and enjoy the next day. My boyfriend got the tuna steak that came in broccolini and we upgraded to chowder fries. Delicious, fresh, what more can you want? I went with a white fish sandwich served on a Hawaiian roll. So so soo good! Went well with the Tatar sauce and the chowder fries were absolutely delicious. I ended up taking most of it to go and it was just as delicious the next day. The fish was fried to perfection and I loved the pickles it was served with. Gave it the perfect fresh crunch. My caveat off the bat -- we weren't looking for a bar experience, so that's my bad. We had fried calamari, which was excellent. The breading was great, calamari was fresh, and the teriyaki sauce was tasty and unique. Peel and eat shrimp was large and fresh. Burger was large and delicious. Scallops as part of a seafood platter were prepared excellently. I had mussels. The mussels were tender, but had more sand than is typical. The garlic butter sauce was strangely bland. I had a special mixed drink that was just okay. They only had four beers on tap, which was disappointing for our party. The service was kind and attentive. The atmosphere is typical for a nice beach bar. I recommend visiting for drinks and bar food. read more

We love terrace and it's a must try when in LBI but unfortunately during our second time there in one week during our vacay, we had a not so great experience with a hostess in the backyard who was quite short with us after we asked the wait time, as well as a poor experience at the bar when a group of four adults openly swiped our bar seats as we were about to sit down :( With that said, the atmosphere here is unbeatable the rest of the time, and their mozzerella sticks and cocktails are great! read more

I highly recommend the outdoor dining at Terrace Tavern. It's very inviting and has such a friendly atmosphere. The service was great and the food was delicious. I highly recommend their HH where they offer a bar menu with items for $5. The portions are fulfilling and worth sharing if you don't want a larger meal. It is dog friendly, so if you're not a fan of dining with LARGE, medium, and/or small dogs that may occasionally bark, you can choose the option to sit inside. Have been coming here since the early 90s on and off and haven't visited in 3-5 years. Miss how it used to be and the food options offered previously. My Crabcake was kind of small and unimpressive, came out lukewarm and on a huge bun with .75" - 1" of bread overhanging the cake and a few shreds of lettuce. Bread to crabcake ratio really off with this one. Cake itself was kind of meh. Not much lump crab to it. Not under seasoned, but the seasoning wasn't my favorite either. My sweet potato fries were a complete soggy/floppy mess and were also lukewarm. My wife's food was fine but nothing stood out as being great. Her fries were at least properly cooked though. Our service was lacking. We were seated near the kitchen and I saw our server just standing around through the kitchen door multiple times, sometimes on her phone, while everyone else was in and out of there and checking on tables. We were staying around the corner from this spot during a recent trip to LBI. Boy are we glad we gave this place a try. We initially had an issue with online ordering and the staff helped sort that out immediately. They were incredibly pleasant and helpful. Food was hot, fresh, and ready for pickup early, which was amazing. The place has a great vibe and is clearly a popular local hangout. Now...the food: we each ordered "The Burger" and it was nothing short of delicious. It was cooked perfectly and the pimento cheese was tremendous. Fries were crispy and cooked well. Went to this place because they had a great happy hour from 12 to 3 we were seated outside and there was plenty of room and social distancing from each table. With only one server outside serving about 10 tables it took a while to get our rounds of drinks and food but our server was amazing. He served us with the bartenders concoction of the day we had the margaritas on tap and they were so strong highly recommend. The chicken tenders are so big and so juicy I will be back for them.
