Wow! They do a great job with their steamer pots! I had never made a seafood boil, so I was nervous. Topsail puts everything in the pot for you - cut and seasoned. I just had to add 2 cups of liquid (we used beer) and that was it! They give you paper for the table and you can just dump the whole thing on the paper and enjoy. Saw someone leaving the store with a large tin can and thought "hey, Popcorn!" But upon further review, saw the word Steamers and was intrigued. Looked them up and noted lots of online options. I actually made a spreadsheet to simplify the choices. By vote, we ordered the Shark Bite which gave an ample variety of seafood. Counter service was somewhat helpful - do this, that - follow the directions. Once we started, did this and that - I admit - it was a lot of fun - steam came out of the top, added the cold food and we were on our way. We started grabbing the beautifully steamed goodies. The corn, potatoes, and little necks were very good. The scallops and crab legs were ok. Sadly, the lobster tails and shrimp were overdone - meat stuck to the shells. Maybe you need more than 2 steam times for 8 different foods. I would not get the bigger buckets again. Added a star for the fun factor. read more

Not just dinner, but an experience we couldn't stop talking about for our entire trip down the shore. We stumbled across Topsail Steamers via word of mouth from our neighbors on our first night of vacation. We ordered the Crabby Jimbo Low Tider for our party of 6 and supplemented it with linguine and andouille sausage. A roll of paper to cover the table was provided with our pot, but we also cut open a trash bag to put between the table and the paper. Written instructions were also provided and the employees were very knowledgeable about the streaming and pouring process. One concern was that the pot provided didn't have handles, but oven mitts did the trick. We would also consider buying crab utensils to make de-shelling the crab meat a little easier. The fish was fresh and seasoned to perfection and butter was provided on the side. It is everything you need for an excellent dinner for a fair price. Overall, Topsail steamers will be a new tradition for our family every time we visit LBI. read more

The concept is simple, yet ideal for dining in the COVID-19 age. Selecting from either their signature buckets or assembling your own choices, your order is delivered in a large aluminum can. Once at home, add the packet of selected seasoning mix (Cajun, lemon-herb blend or classic), pour in a liquid of choice (water, beer, wine, etc.), replace the top, then boil for the recommended period. A tip: don't press the top too tightly, or it won't easily come off. Once cooked, pour the seafood onto a platter or directly onto the supplied tablecloth. Portion sizes are abundant. Cocktail sauce and butter come with your order, and crab/lobster mallets and picks are available-- if you don't already have them. Bucket choices may include corn, red potatoes, little neck clams, shrimp, scallops, snow crab legs, lobster tails, andouille sausage and kielbasa. Each was fresh, well-selected and properly prepared. Love that they opened in NJ, we found this place last year during the pandemic while quarantined at Topsail Beach, NC and was so good. It did not disappoint here in NJ either! I like creating our own bucket. The crab and the kielbasa are the best. The shrimp is good but don't forget to season them. The lobster tail was delicious too. We had 3 families and each family ordered their own. We had the best night sitting outside eating together. The brown paper made for easy clean up! Yes a little pricey depending on what you order but SO worth the experience and memories we made with out night! You save by mixing your own cocktails at home! What a great concept! Picked up a pot for dinner. Got the captain pierce low rider and there was plenty of food for two people. The pot was so easy to cook and the lady behind the counter walked through the instructions to make sure I understood how to do it. She even took a phone call an hour later when we had a question. The seafood tasted so fresh. The sausage, potatoes, and corn were great with the seasoning in the pot. Went with the half and half and it had enough spice to be the right amount of flavor.
