Still my favorite Chinese place in town. I ordered "Kung Pao Chicken" but I didn't want the sauce all over it nor stir-fried. My special request got me steamed white meat chicken and a lot of crispy veg and peanuts, which is exactly what I wanted, and sauce on the side. This is not actually the "Kung Pao" I know it (in NYC it's cubes of chicken, celery, peanuts, dried red chili pods and a spicy not-too-wet sauce) but no worries, this version was REALLY GOOD and it was excellent for someone watching out for too much salt and oil at the moment. We are pretty new to Middletown (here for 1 year) and we just try this place. I we are transplants from NJ and was looking for good Chinese food. Well we tried it today and are pleasantly surprised. Looks great but the food is lacking. Nothing really wrong with it except the effort to make it better for the cost you pay. For example I got cheese crab dumplings that most places would get a wonton wrapper put a dab of cheese crab mixture in the center and fold up the side so you have something simar to a tulip shape, then deep fry. Not here. They used a egg roll wrap dabbed some crab cheese mix in the center folded it flat then deep fried. It didn't have the crispness or the dipping power as the other shape did. The lo main noodles lacked texture and yhe wonton soup has no flavor. I had high hopes based on reviews but nope will not be back. read more

Tried this place again after two years writing my first review. Food is still decent but do not like how greasy all our food was. I got the beef chow fun this time (not even close to my standards :/ very bland and just a ton of noodles and beef were in huge chunks I had to cut up). The bourbon chicken was pretty good! For some reason it was seasoned with the red pork marinade then tossed with the bourbon chicken sauce but still pretty good. read more

Pleasantly surprised. First time ordering from here after being loyal to a different place for 10 years. My guilty feeling quickly subsided after my first mouthful of egg drop soup... and it only got better. Children are smiling, birds were chirping and a calmness overtook our bodies bite after bite. We haven't found a Chinese takeout place yet, and so we thought to give this a try! It didn't disappoint! First of all, their website is so easy to navigate which I highly appreciate compared to other takeout spots. I called in, placed my order, received my total and 10 minute wait time. We ordered pork lo mein, 2 general tso combos 1 with white rice and the other with chicken fried rice, and a crab rangoon appetizer. The combos come with rice and an egg roll. Total was $36. Food was ready as soon as we got there (we live like 5 minutes away). Nice, friendly staff. Building was clean. And the food was perfect! Our order was correct. Exactly what I was craving. The lo mein was addicting! General Tso's had a perfect amount of spice to it. And the crab rangoons are too good for just 1 order. Definitely will be back read more

Very tasty. We are used to the Chinese food in Smyrna and this way better. General Tzo chicken for me and King Pao chicken for hubby. (Might be spelled wrong). We were surprised that it was still hot, when we got home but they packed it well. Will definitely go there again and look forward to eating inside. read more

It's been awhile since we ordered from Shing Kwong, in the past food was very good. We've been getting our Chinese food from China Wok in Elkton, but thought we'd order from Shing Kwong tonight.......never again! We ordered several entrees and everything was horrible, no taste whatsoever! The wonton soup was so salty it was inedible. Obviously something has changed. I'll drive to China Wok in Elkton to get my Chinese food. Very disappointed to say the least. read more

The chicken for the chicken and cashews meal almost tasted gamey. Like it was old. The chicken with the sweet and sour chicken tasted the same, but was covered in breading thicker than the chicken. I've order from here for years, most of the time the food was good. The last two times I've ordered and had it delivered a 1/4 of the order was missing. This last time I order two orders of ribs, they were inedible, it was just fat and bone and for $9.95 per order I called them to tell them. They couldn't care less and hung up on me.
