I always get the chicken pho but with the vegetable broth it's delicious. I've never been disappointed

I will preface this review by saying that I went out of my way to come try this spot because of the high reviews on Yelp. While I thought it is fine for a neighborhood Vietnamese spot, it was not worth going out of the way to come here. We tried the bun bo hue (beef lemongrass pho) and a combo of beef pho and a pork hoagie. The lemongrass pho had pork feet, 4 small pieces of beef, and 3 slices of Vietnamese ham. Aside from the spice, the broth lacked depth. The hoagies were small and was mostly just bread with very little meat. In general, I found their portions to be small and the ratio of meat to stuff (noodles, bread, etc) is rather low. The combo portions are the same size as the kids portions. The server said that it is roughly 2/3 of the regular portion but I think it is less than that. On the plus side, I think they've done a good job of adapting their menu to appeal to people that are not familiar with Vietnamese food. read more

I'm very surprised this place has such a high rating. First off, this place is dirty. If you look at the walls, you can see precious food splatters? Bathrooms are not clean.. I would rather not go into detail why. The waiter was pleasant but was bilingual which is a plus. The food itself was so far from traditional Vietnamese food. I would say this place caters to people who have never tried Vietnamese food before. Would not take my grandmother here. Pho dac biet 4/10: The broth was mid. At least there was a fair amount of meat Bun Bo hue 6/10: The broth was good, a tad too spicy. I only mention the spiciness because it feels like more spice was added to hide the lack of flavor. Fair amount of meat Bun V box 2/10: I liked the idea of a small portion of everything. The only thing good about this box was the noodles. The summer roll and spring roll both lacked flavor. The dumplings and the sauce were sweet which was not a good thing.. Coconut juice -2/10: Really disappointed that the drink came with a spoon but no coconut meat. The waiter waited until we asked and then told us that they ran out of coconut meat. It felt really odd that he waited until AFTER I received the drink and took a sip. Iced Vietnamese coffee 1/10: Probably made from powder and water. The drip device wasn't there.. The coffee was filled with so much ice that the lid was popping off. I was really disappointed in this restaurant. I would not come back nor suggest this to friends. read more

Terrible service. Had to leave after over an hour of waiting at the table with no food

The restaurant itself is a typical strip mall pho restaurant. The lemon grass pho with chicken was outstanding. The service is mediocre again what one would expect in one of these small restaurants. The reason for the three for my rating was the table where I sat, had every plastic soup spoon with debris on them. You may think this is petty however it's the little things that matter in a restaurant, the attention to detail, one had to notice those spoons because they had to be stacked in their holder. Makes you wonder what else is being overlooked in the kitchen area? read more

It's good but the flavor is not as good as it used to be, unfortunately. I always order the Bun Combo which satisfies my craving. read more

Here few years ago, look like new people run this restaurant. Ordered bowl of Pho soup special with raw beef on side, the broth was light on taste. Ordered Lotus stem salad, it comes with pickle lotus stem and vegetable season with fish sauce, and fried rice cracker, the rice cracker was inedible salad ok. Probably the best Vietnamese place in the area. Went in to sit down and eat, and what I assume was one of the owners greeted me kind of oddly. Hard to describe, and I shrugged it off. When he came to give me water, he also brought the herbs and jalapeños they typically serve with Pho, which I thought was odd, and not very sanitary, given he left it on the table as I looked at the menu. He just assumed I was ordering Pho I guess, but I ordered vermicelli, so he took the untouched herbs and jalapeños away. I also asked if the vermicelli was served with a fried egg. In Vietnam, rice dishes often come with a fried egg, and it's delicious. So I wanted an egg on the vermicelli. He acted like I was crazy for asking. After going back and forth, he finally said I could add an egg, which I did. I also ordered fresh shrimp and pork rolls, but they were forgotten. It took an incredibly long time to get my order, and as I watched other tables, I could see their frustration with how long it took to be greeted, take their order, and deliver their food. My meal was finally delivered, and when I asked the person about my fresh spring rolls, he acted confused, but came with them a few minutes later. When I got my check, the spring rolls were not on it, which is why the waiter was confused. At least they didn't charge me for them. It sounds like I'm leaving an unfavorable review, but I'm just being honest about the service aspect. The food itself was excellent...I'd say a 4.5; service was a 3.5, thus the 4.0 review. Highly recommend for the food, and perhaps this night was a bit unusual for the service, so I'm giving it a big thumbs up. read more

Vietnamese food is a hit or miss for me. This place was pretty good. They had a variety of dishes, rice, soups and noodles. The spring rolls are delicious. The crunchy noodles were meh, bland. My friend order pho and loves it. Great servers ! read more

I ordered the beef Pho with rare meat. For some odd reason they added my rare meat to the broth and it was overcooked, instead of putting it on the side for me to add in myself. Very disappointing. The guest recovery was "thanks for the heads up." Won't order again. read more

I had high expectations because everyone around me highly recommended this restaurant. However, when I tried the food, I found it to be just decent; none of the dishes lived up to being described as "very delicious." The customer service was terrible, rated at 0/10. They handed us the bills in the middle of our meal. Keep in mind, it was only 2 PM, not closing time. We were still eating when, all of a sudden, the waiter approached us and asked, "Credit card or cash?" We were surprised and felt the urge to leave. Will I go again? I want to savor my meal until the very last bite, but it seems impossible here. So, no. read more

Amazing food. Can't go wrong with anything in their menu, though the beef pho is an "always order" item. Thai tea is also a must.

Ordered rare steak pho and fried wontons and dumplings. The pho -5/10 not as flavorful but not bad. The fried wontons are very small and came soft, I also got it delivered so could be that but didn't like the filling. The dumplings 0/10 and I usually love dumplings but these were terrible. Maybe it was just a bad day as well. read more

Saw a nice review on this place from a fellow yelper, so my partner and I stopped here for lunch on our way to the casino. We started off with an iced Vietnamese coffee, which was strong and tasty! We then shared a pork fried roll which was perfectly fried and came out piping hot.  Along with the ground pork was a good mix of a few different veggies and cellophane noodles...dip them in the sweet and sour sauce and you have a delicious appetizer. Partner had the grilled pork with rice and egg accompanied with fresh lettuce, tomato and shredded carrots.  The pork was tender and perfectly grilled. A great dish overall! I had the beef pho with sliced steak, brisket and beef balls.  The meats were delicate and flavorful...everything about this dish was delicious! Bottom line, the food came out as soon as cooking was completed, water glasses were promptly filled and they checked on us every now again.  A solid establishment! read more

Came to Vpho after a friend recommended this place to me. I ordered the Spring roll with shrimp and the mango salad with chicken. The Spring roll with shrimp were okay. The peanut sauce that was served, saved the spring rolls. I think a little piece of avacado would have taken the rolls to the next level. The mango salad was tasty. I opted for chicken as my protein, but you can also choose pork, tofu or shrimp. The chicken was seasoned, but I thought the dressing that was served with the salad would be a little more flavorful. read more

Been on a Vietnamese kick lately. Came down to Delaware to see a nearby baseball card show and found this within striking distance. The V box was perfect to sample everything. I particularly enjoyed the grilled pork with vermicelli as it had perfect flavoring. The dumplings and rolls were quite good as well. It paired well with the Vietnamese iced coffee which is my new obsession. This place is as good as any I've had. read more

Stopped in here for some Pho on a rainy day. Reading the reviews, I was coming in expecting a decent pho experience but I was expecting more. We got in for dinner time on a Wednesday night with a few tables filled. We were lucky to get in before the "dinner" rush. Due to Covid, there were a lot of pick up to go orders and they were focusing on them when we came in. We sat and waited to be sat in some "royal" seating décor. My boyfriend felt prince like while waiting. There was an awkward swing inside too...odd We sat and previewed the menu even though we knew what we wanted. Pho with some bubble tea and a Durian shake. My boyfriend ordered P2 which was pho with three meats while I ordered P5, pho with all the meats; steak, tripe, beef ball, tendons and brisket. The pho size had me wanting more. Served in a square bowl, there wasn't much noodles for a meal that was around $14. There were a few pieces of small tripe and a beef ball sliced into quarters. Our drinks were made from powder as they tasted a little like medicine with my "durian" smoothie tasting nothing like durian. Whether it's been powder in the past or frozen durian with the pungent aroma, this one tasted like coconut which wasn't even an option for a smoothie. I ended leaving majority of it on the table when we left, tried to finish it but just wasn't good. The Taro Bubble tea tasted a little bit more like taro though bubbles didn't have much flavor. The service was lackluster. As the night got busier, they seemed to neglect the tables that were already seated. A polite older woman was waiting for a box and the bill majority of our meal from sitting down to almost paying ourselves. Another person just sat themselves as everyone was busy taking care of the take out orders than the patrons that actually came in. I imagine one of the owners of the restaurant was taking orders on the phone while taking care of a table, putting down garnish for their pho and silverware. We were right next to them shaking our heads. Whether they were understaffed or busy, there is a time a place to take care of those that are in your establishment and those on the phone. There were other Pho places on the Yelp list and we will be checking those out instead. read more

There was a significant amount of black ice on the pavement in front of the door way. be careful here during winter months. We were greeted and seated by the most enthusiastic man who was also taking everyone's orders and checking on everyones' meal. He's naturally loud but he's very polite and extra accommodating with recommendations. The food was great! My partner and I each got an order of egg noodle with bbq pork (charsiu) We added an appetizer portion of Vietnamese won tons to add to our dish. ($5) I was delighted in the details and perfection of this entree in addition to their extensive menu. I'm impressed with vpho and would be coming back often if I lived in the area. read more

Pho was tasty with generous portions, but the service made me uncomfortable. The owner spent most of the time chatting with another table loudly and ignored ours. At one point, he dropped our check holder to the floor, saw it, and walked away--leaving us to pick it up. Payment felt rushed, with the card machine brought uncomfortably close, and repeated "You don't feel good?" comments felt odd rather than caring. I couldn't help but feel we were given less attention than other customers, which took away from an otherwise good meal. read more

We've been to this location before, years ago it was a middle eastern restaurant, so I knew where vPho was, which slightly out of sight @ side of parking lot. I was out running errands, it was cold & pho just sounded good. My quick Yelp search stopped here, with good ratings & reviews, it was my next stop. I had to order to go, but the place was buzzing with customers & the staff seemed very attentive. I got the beef pho, with 3 meats & steamed dumplings. I got home to have my meal, everything was very fresh & items were carefully packed in separate containers to accommodate a fresh bowl of pho made properly. The meat & vegetables & broth were fresh & delicious. The dumplings also seemed homemade & were also very tasty. The entire meal + tip was less than $19. I want to return & sit in to eat next meal. I would highly recommend for fresh homemade pho! read more

Me and my bf recently moved to Delaware and have been trying all the nearby pho places. So far this has been my favorite spot for pho. We tried their special combo pho and it was a flavor blast. Seasonings and broth flavor were on point, I did not need to add any extra seasonings which I'm usually compelled to when it comes to pho. I also thoroughly enjoyed the pork chop with rice. Truly good! The pho broth was very flavorful and all the condiments we usually need to ask for were on the table. The grilled pork vermicelli noodles were SO good. We did a combo plate for the pho that came with a smaller sized soup and a banh mi and it was a good deal, very filling for $13! The spring roll was good, but not my favorite. Good service too. My wife and I had been craving Pho and had not really discovered or been searching for to be honest a good Pho please close to home. Our Friday evening with the kids to Vpho was the first outward bound expedition in search of delicious Pho. Tucked away in a small shopping center along Mirkwood highway is where you will find Vpho. It's a small place With tons of character and decor inside. We got our order in pretty quickly and it didn't take long for our two appetizers to hit the table shortly followed by our pho and a grilled chicken rice plate for the kids to share. Pho was delicious and we quickly slurped down every last bit of it and our kids did great with their plate. Everyone was full and happy. The service was quick and friendly so overall we are fans of Vpho., We also go out of there with a bill under $50 (not including tip). We are glad to have pinned this place on our Pho cravings map and will likely be back. read more

This casual spot is good if you are looking for home style cooking. The decor is basic and clean with touches of the Vietnam culture. We started with pan seared teriyaki chicken dumplings. They were very tasty and loved how they had crunchy edges due to being pan seared. My hubby got a Chicken Bahn Mi Hoagie, he gave it a thumbs up. The sandwich was light, with chicken, carrots and a tasty dressing. We decide to split a chicken and shrimp stir fry platter with mixed Chinese vegetables and white rice. You have a selection of sauces to choose from we decided on spicy lemon grass. The dish was pleasantly presented, I thought the lemon grass sauce would be a bit sweeter but it was okay. It left an after taste I didn't care for. There were large shrimp and chicken with the dish along with chili pepper flakes to give it a bit of a kick. The white rice was a bit undercooked- crunchy! Overall, it was an okay, not amazing experience. The staff was pleasantly but they never can back to clear our plates as we finished each course which was a bit disappointing. While I won't be in a rush to go back it wasn't a waste of time. read more
