Excellent. The location is small looks more like a take out place but you absolutely can eat there. The service was great no complaints. I ordered the fried rice with pork and pad Thai with chicken. The pork belly was awesome. And the pad Thai was also good, with a hint of lime. The price was a little high but for the amount of food I think you can easy get 2-3 meals from those 2 dishes.

Food we ordered chicken satay, kapow /basil stir fry, pad see eew, and a thai tea. Food was great. They don't skimp out on the amount of chicken in the food and honestly the vegetables taste so good that you don't even need the protein added. Thai tea had a bit too much milk, but I like that it came in a to-go cup. Place is small had like two tables that seat 4 people feels much more like a take out place. They are short staffed so we were patient. Only two people working. We dined in and the staff was very kind, there is a bit of a language barrier but overall we got our order in and everything came out great.

Food is tasty and is probably better to take out (they have a small dining area that felt a bit awkward to sit in).

Minimal service which is expected. There are two ladies working in this place. The restaurant is more like a take out place, but definitely serves one of the best Thai food in Delaware. Food is expensive so if you are looking for a nice sit down place for the same price, I will stir away, but If you are looking for authentic Thai food in the area this place is a gem! We will absolutely go back!!!

I've ordered from this place several times but will never order from them again after today's experience. The Thai Noodle Salad only had two prawns and old veggies. The soup was supposed to include fresh vegetables and only has one mushroom, a piece of carrot, and disgusting old pieces of what looked like cabbage??? lettuce that was brown. I will not be ordering from them ever again.

Everything was fresh and absolutely delicious! I really enjoyed my panang curry and a side of sticky rice. Best Thai food in Northern Delaware! Staff is very friendly and polite. The place is small but clean.

Delicious food. I dream about the beef salad, it is soooo good. Not the most fancy and quote small for dine in but well worth a visit.

Very Pleasantly Surprised!…read more Cold rainy night and wanted some pho or Thai soup and I got much more than I Bargained for. I see this spot in a parking lot and looked up the reviews and thought I would give it a try. It wasn't busy and was near closing but the waitstaff was very pleasant, inviting and submitted order and food came out piping hot and it did not disappoint. I started Tom Yum soup and it was very flavorful and nice portion - I recommend the large for the price and take how the leftovers if there is any. I then had massama lm curry, and KaProw And they both had really great flavor - decent portion size not large but not small medium. I had a Thai Ice T, a bit on the sweet side for me, but it was decent. Overall really enjoyed the place and look forward to going back and trying a couple of other dishes.

The waitress point to me where to get the high chair. Krapow chicken shouldn't have all those sauce. It is a dry stir fry. Shrimp pad Thai tasted like it was mixed with a bottle of pad Thai sauce. Paneng curry has peanuts in it. Never see that ever! Mixing with other fillers that shouldn't be in Paneng. Papaya salad is the only decent dish for me. Looking from outside, I would turn around and out real fast. Going inside, it could be worse, I guess.

While I thought it is fine for a neighborhood Vietnamese spot, it was not worth going out of the way to come here. We tried the bun bo hue (beef lemongrass pho) and a combo of beef pho and a pork hoagie. The lemongrass pho had pork feet, 4 small pieces of beef, and 3 slices of Vietnamese ham. Aside from the spice, the broth lacked depth. The hoagies were small and was mostly just bread with very little meat. In general, I found their portions to be small and the ratio of meat to stuff (noodles, bread, etc) is rather low. The combo portions are the same size as the kids portions. The server said that it is roughly 2/3 of the regular portion but I think it is less than that. On the plus side, I think they've done a good job of adapting their menu to appeal to people that are not familiar with Vietnamese food.

I would rather not go into detail why. The waiter was pleasant but was bilingual which is a plus. The food itself was so far from traditional Vietnamese food. I would say this place caters to people who have never tried Vietnamese food before. Would not take my grandmother here. Pho dac biet 4/10: The broth was mid. At least there was a fair amount of meat Bun Bo hue 6/10: The broth was good, a tad too spicy. I only mention the spiciness because it feels like more spice was added to hide the lack of flavor. Fair amount of meat Bun V box 2/10: I liked the idea of a small portion of everything. The only thing good about this box was the noodles. The summer roll and spring roll both lacked flavor. The dumplings and the sauce were sweet which was not a good thing.. Coconut juice -2/10: Really disappointed that the drink came with a spoon but no coconut meat. The waiter waited until we asked and then told us that they ran out of coconut meat. It felt really odd that he waited until AFTER I received the drink and took a sip. Iced Vietnamese coffee 1/10: Probably made from powder and water. The drip device wasn't there.. The coffee was filled with so much ice that the lid was popping off. I was really disappointed in this restaurant. I would not come back nor suggest this to friends.

I got their chicken pad Thai which was cooked to perfection-flavorful noodles, tender juicy chicken chunks of chicken, and they even threw in a few pieces of seasoned tofu which is a nice addition. If you get the lunch special, it includes either a spring roll and salad or a chicken dumpling and salad. *Tip: if you want a slightly larger portion of salad, ask them to pack it separately and put the salad dressing you choose on the side. The peanut salad dressing is insanely good, but the other choices are pretty delicious as well. They'll ask you what spice level you prefer: none, mild, medium, hot or very hot (level 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5). The first time I ordered from here I got the chicken fried rice and trust me, they do elevate this dish. The picture I included doesn't even do it justice. It's not overly oily, it's light and airy and flavorful with the right amount of everything in it. I plan to try nearly everything on their menu. Go get you some and show this small neighborhood spot some love! They're great for take out but there's also seating outside and inside the restaurant. Small but cozy, warm and friendly service too.

But once you're inside, you realize this mother-and-daughter team is serving some of the most authentic Thai food you'll find anywhere in Delaware. We ordered a little bit of everything--starting with the satay and soup, both of which were warm, flavorful, and clearly homemade. The satay came perfectly grilled with a peanut sauce that could have been a meal on its own. The soup was the kind of comfort you don't expect to find unless someone's cooking for you at home. The Pad Thai and Pad Kee Mao were both outstanding, each with its own distinct balance of sweetness, spice, and texture. You could tell nothing came out of a jar--the flavors were bright, clean, and layered. The red curry, rich and aromatic, had that perfect slow-building heat that keeps you reaching for more jasmine rice. And speaking of rice--it was cooked just right, fragrant and fluffy, the quiet star that pulled everything together. What makes Bangkok House truly special isn't just the food, though. It's the feeling you get while you're there. The care that goes into each dish, the relaxed, no-frills setting, and the pride this family takes in their craft all come through in every bite. My daughter, who goes to college nearby, swears it's the most authentic Thai food in Delaware--and after this meal, I believe her. If you're anywhere near Newark, skip the big-name places and come here instead. It's a small spot with a big heart, and it's the kind of meal you'll still be thinking about long after you've left.
