Chicken Pad Thai Combo
Linnette D.

This was the second time I've ordered from this restaurant and they did not disappoint! Pad Thai has been my guilty pleasure for quite some time and this place has some of the best I've had. I got their chicken pad Thai which was cooked to perfection-flavorful noodles, tender juicy chicken chunks of chicken, and they even threw in a few pieces of seasoned tofu which is a nice addition. If you get the lunch special, it includes either a spring roll and salad or a chicken dumpling and salad. *Tip: if you want a slightly larger portion of salad, ask them to pack it separately and put the salad dressing you choose on the side. The peanut salad dressing is insanely good, but the other choices are pretty delicious as well. They'll ask you what spice level you prefer: none, mild, medium, hot or very hot (level 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5). The first time I ordered from here I got the chicken fried rice and trust me, they do elevate this dish. The picture I included doesn't even do it justice. It's not overly oily, it's light and airy and flavorful with the right amount of everything in it. I plan to try nearly everything on their menu. Go get you some and show this small neighborhood spot some love! They're great for take out but there's also seating outside and inside the restaurant. Small but cozy, warm and friendly service too.

Nice new location off the side of the road. The workers were all very nice and placing an order online was quick and painless They were unfortunately out of most wing flavors when we ordered so we had to settle for some more traditional flavors. They were crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside so they passed the vibe check The Thai dishes were just okay but portions were generous and we had plenty left over for a midnight snack Because I live in Wilmington I won't ever travel the extra 10 mins to get here

Red Curry Lunch Special

What an awesome little restaurant. Have been here twice for lunch and both times it was outstanding. I had Pad Thai the first time and Red Curry the second. If you are looking for a good, authentic Thai restaurant, check them out.

Cute decor! Rose wall and ambient lighting

Absolutely delicious! My boyfriend and I got wings, curry puffs, and the red curry lunch special. Everything was so tasty, and all the sauces were made in-house, including the bleu cheese. The owner was so friendly and made sure everything was to our liking. This cute restaurant has awesome decor with a casual atmosphere.

I ordered wings and Pad Thai here many times. It's my favorite spot. They also have boba tea. While I'm typing, I'm hungry!

The wings I got had an odor to them. I threw them out. Really disappointed. Mango drink was good. Service was slow but staff polite.

Bangkok House in Newark is one of those places that reminds you why small, family-run restaurants…read moreare irreplaceable. From the outside, it's humble and easy to miss. But once you're inside, you realize this mother-and-daughter team is serving some of the most authentic Thai food you'll find anywhere in Delaware. We ordered a little bit of everything--starting with the satay and soup, both of which were warm, flavorful, and clearly homemade. The satay came perfectly grilled with a peanut sauce that could have been a meal on its own. The soup was the kind of comfort you don't expect to find unless someone's cooking for you at home. The Pad Thai and Pad Kee Mao were both outstanding, each with its own distinct balance of sweetness, spice, and texture. You could tell nothing came out of a jar--the flavors were bright, clean, and layered. The red curry, rich and aromatic, had that perfect slow-building heat that keeps you reaching for more jasmine rice. And speaking of rice--it was cooked just right, fragrant and fluffy, the quiet star that pulled everything together. What makes Bangkok House truly special isn't just the food, though. It's the feeling you get while you're there. The care that goes into each dish, the relaxed, no-frills setting, and the pride this family takes in their craft all come through in every bite. My daughter, who goes to college nearby, swears it's the most authentic Thai food in Delaware--and after this meal, I believe her. If you're anywhere near Newark, skip the big-name places and come here instead. It's a small spot with a big heart, and it's the kind of meal you'll still be thinking about long after you've left.

My fiance and I were visiting the area while in NY and were looking for a place for lunch. We love…read moreThai food, so when I found this spot on Yelp I figured we'd give it a try. This restaurant is located in a small group of street lined businesses, with parking along the street. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating on their patio. It was a chilly day, so we opted to sit inside. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive our entire visit. We ordered the Pad Garlic and Pad King lunch specials, both with chicken and hot spice level. The lunch specials come with a salad dressed with a sweet dressing. Our food was out in record time and was piping hot, so it's definitely a spot if you are in a time crunch- hello power lunch! We both thought our dishes were packed with flavor and although they had heat, we could have went with Thai Spicy. If we were local, this would definitely be our go-to spot!

1 Star - Absolute Rip-Off. Check Your Bag Before You Leave…read more I'd give them zero stars if I could. I ordered a large Tom Kha soup with both shrimp and chicken for pickup, and apparently, "large" means "half-empty" in their kitchen. To make matters worse, they completely forgot the chicken. I paid full price for a premium, multi-protein soup and ended up with a container of half-filled broth and a couple of sad shrimp. Charging customers full price for missing ingredients and cutting corners on portion sizes is a blatant rip-off. If you're going to order from Tasty Thai, bring a measuring cup, a magnifying glass, and check your food at the counter before you walk out. Absolutely ridiculous.

Ambience is nice: it's tastefully decorated, not over the top. We had made a reservation and were promptly seated. It was moderately busy, but not packed. Service and food were both excellent. Our server was accurate and attentive. My husband and I started with the Steamed Dumplings, which were tasty. We enjoyed our main dishes -- Drunken Noodle (with beef) for him and Spicy House Noodles (with shrimp) for me. He said it's in his "top 2" best drunken noodles he's had. Everything was hot and perfectly seasoned; good portions. My friend had ordered a "sizzling" dish that did not come out sizzling, but he enjoyed it nonetheless; he and his wife had no other complaints. We all got dessert. I ordered the Mango & Sticky Rice, which was amazing -- definitely in my "top 2"! Restrooms were clean and functional. We all agreed we would dine here again. If you find yourself in the Kennett area craving delicious Thai food, I recommend checking this place out. You won't be disappointed!

For appetizers, we got the egg roll and chive pancakes. I would say to skip the egg roll. In my opinion, the wrapper was way too thick and hard rather than thin and crispy. The filling tasted just ok. Instead, I would get just the chive pancake. It's fragrant, herbaceous, light, and pleasantly chewy and bouncy. For my pad Thai entree with tofu, it was decent. The portion size is a little smaller than what I am typically used to from other Thai restaurants but I was still full. I got a 3/5 and it wasn't spicy to be. It was savory, had a strong fish sauce base, and good! I would get this if I was in the area but wouldn't go out of my way.
