Very disappointing. The food was bland and lacked flavor. Service was fine, but the meal itself was not enjoyable and I would not return.

I was in the area last night with some family so we decided to check out our old Chinese food spot in New Castle. I literally haven't been there since CoVid times, the owner is still as sweet as ever and remembered my order(steamed chicken and broccol, no sauce with duck sauce on the side), even though it's been forever since my last visit. Prices were still super reasonable and portions were good. I still get my steamed chicken and broccoli and the chicken is always super tender and juicy. Was craving Chinese food while visiting from Arizona and this place was recommended. I promptly placed an order for General Tso's chicken, boneless barbecue pork ribs, sautéed broccoli, eggrolls, crab Rangoon, and a vegan spicy bean soup. Everything was made to order and came steaming hot.. and each dish was made to perfection! I mean fresh & bursting with flavor, taking me back to memories of my childhood. The portions were enough to cater a small party. It's hard to find Chinese food this good. Overall the service experience was friendly, simple, and efficient. Moved to New Castle over the summer and kept seeing the sign and saying "we need to try that place!" 8 months later, finally tried it, and now I'm kicking myself for waiting so long! The portions were huge and most importantly, it was delicious. Fried rice with plenty of big pieces of pork, the General Tso's was crispy and tender, and the fried dumplings were packed with meat - no skimping on those bad boys. Even the dipping sauce was better - I think there was more ginger added, which was 100% welcome. The woman who rang us up was quite possibly the sweetest woman I've ever met. The food would have already had us coming back one way or another, but she was so pleasant that she guaranteed that we'll be back even sooner. read more

Just moved to New Castle and after trying a few different Chinese food places, we found a great place. The food is so good. Crisp fresh veggies, crispy chicken with moist meat inside. Beef is never chewy. Noodles are cooked perfectly. Elaine is wonderful, she remembers your name and phone number quickly and knows what at you like. Super friendly and helpful, great service. We haven't had anything that wasn't delicious. We go often and the drive is worth it. No one delivers around new castle, but when you find a great place, the 8-10 mins is worth it. read more

We especially like that you can order extra sauce if you like extra. So far we ordered extra brown sauce that goes on Chicken & Broccoli and also Garlic sauce. This was always our go-to for chinese food. For years we were loyal. On my last visit the food was horrible. Dry and chewy and the pork boneless ribs were like sweetened beef jerky. Maybe they hired new cooks? Or maybe it's under new ownership....I don't know but it was so disappointing when you're craving your favorite chinese food and you get it home and take a bite and blahhhhhhh........we called to let them know it wasn't up to their usual standards but there was a bit of a language barrier and it was tough getting our point across. We did get an apology but no offer to fix the matter by offer a discount or free meal next time. Oh well. I guess all good things really DO come to an end after a while. read more

I've tried nearly every Chinese takeout in New Castle. King Garden was the last one on the list. I have to admit I was skeptical about the 5-star rating but to my surprise, they do make the mark. I'd say it's 4.5 stars and round up. The food is surprisingly good for Chinese takeout. Whereas other takeout places typically dish out that mediocre yellow fried rice, King Garden has fried rice that is brown, as it should be! I tried their Sesame Chicken and Pork Egg Foo Young, and both were far better than equivalent items at the average Chinese takeout. Plus, portions were ample. They really packed the food in and there was quite a lot of chicken in the Sesame Chicken so the bag was noticeably heavier than takeout bags from other places. And finally, service was good and pretty fast, although given how good the food was, we wouldn't have minded if the Soup Nazi himself were stationed at the counter. read more

Highly highly highly recommend this place !!!! The fried dumplings were double the Norma size and full of flavor along with the dipping sauce which had a little kick too it filled me!! We also got the boneless spare ribs (large) which came in a quart container!!!!! HUGE!! Also great tasting !!
