Ordered schezwan chicken and said it to make it extra spicy and got home it was too mild and no salt as well. When I called I was told it's not always spicy. But it said spicy on the menu. Not a good place at all for good food read more

If I could give "Great Wall" zero stars, I would. We hadn't ordered here in over a year, as the last few times we ordered, it was not very good, and we should have stayed away... When I placed the order, they simply said "ok", did not repeat the order and hung up. The order was only half right and I would have easily corrected it if they had the curtesy to do so. I have worked in the restaurant business for a very long time, including in multiple high end Asian establishments. I know what I'm ordering. Once I got home and started dishing out the plates for my two young toddlers, I realized the order was not correct. I called and was told, that is "what you ordered". I accepted the answer, but was sure the order was wrong. Once we started eating, we could tell something was off. The wontons seemed hours old, the shrimp well under done and the Mei fun flavorless. The crispy noodles were stale as well. My wife decided to drive the order back and show the staff. She was told the won tons were just a little dry and they refused to taste a crispy noodle. (Did they know?). She was given a 40% refund, but honestly it's not even about that. My wife and I both got sick after eating a bit and luckily took the food away from the kids before they ate anything other than the rice. We have plenty of family and friends in the ordering range of "Great Wall" and will be sure to pass along our thoughts to them. read more

Ok. I ordered my food yesterday (July 5,2017) and I had no issues with the food. The food was fine. I got rice noodles with shrimp. My girlfriend got broccoli and shrimp. That was fine. Here's the issue. I went out that evening with the change I had leftover from the meal I purchased earlier. I had $17.75. I had two $1 bills. One $5. And one $10. I went to get a drink at the bar. And the $10 bill was fake . I didn't noticed at the Chinese store because I just seen the guy count out my change and I folded it and went on about my way. So of course the bank took the $10. And I went back and I flipped my sh!t on the owner. I know he's familiar with people who always come and go. And I never eat there. My girlfriend wanted it so we got it. So I know he doesn't recognize my face. So I felt as though he knew what he was doing. And he did. He wouldn't even look me in my eye when I went back in the store to get my $10. Considering the area and the people. I know he knows fake money. So I know for a fact he knew what he was doing. But it's ok. They'll never see another dime of my money. read more

Ordered chicken egg foo young and when I got home it had no chicken. Took it back only to have my meal pulled apart by the owner and say that the chicken was on the bottom patty not in all three just one. From there she gave my money back not Evan attempting to fix the problem,but she didn't do the return she had her son pay me out.In my 38 years of food service I have never treated a Costemer with such disregards. Lived in tge area for 10 years, but never ordered from this restaurant. Had a taste for Chinese food. Oder over the phone. Picked up 25 minutes later. Shocked to see NO MASKS worn by the staff. The young lady that gave me the food put a mask on just bef I re grabbing the bag to give to me. Took the food home and heated it in the microwave for a minute. Other than the Broccoli, the food was horrible. I ordered General Tso Shrimp and shrimp fried rice. The General Tso Shrimp had so much breading, we had to dig deep to find the shrimp. The breading was saturated in so much oil, after eating one shrimp with half of the breading, we removed the breading from the rest of the shrimp. The General Tso sauce came in a separate container (typically the shrimp is mixed in the sauce). The sauce was terrible. The shrimp fried rice had 9 small shrimp in it. We couldn't eat all of the food because it was so bad, not even half of it. Less than an hour after eating, I was sick. My stomach hurt so bad, and I was nauseous at the same time. It was a rough night, but once it was out of my system, I was better. Never again. 2nd Middletown Chinese restaurant with horrible food. read more

If you are able to get past the rude female owner who takes your order, be ready to wait for ever!! They have 1 cook only. I ordered on the phone, was told 45 minutes, knowing this place and how they are always behind I showed up 1 hour later, this for soup and wings. When I get there I'm told to wait 15 minutes, the order wasn't started, then I'm told there's no wings. I could have order from Hong Kong on the other side of town and actually gotten a good meal with 20 minutes to spare. read more

Stopped in for lunch on a trip down to DE and was pleasantly surprised... $5.95 got me one of many lunch specials, and an extra $2 got me an egg roll too. I ended up getting the general tso (spicy!) chicken, which came w a side of rice and some broccoli. Would've liked more broccoli, but no biggie. Chicken and sauce were hot and well seasoned, and portions big. Would definitely recommend this place for the lunch specials! read more

This is our go to Chinese restaurant. It is right at our back door and they don't deliver. I can't say it's the best I've had but when your craving Chinese flavors they do the trick. The BBQ ribs are my favorite and come in the old authentic sticky red sauce. Newer Chinese places have been changing this. So this pleases me. Two people were here before me; a woman placed an order and sat down to wait. A man placed an order & said he'd return. When I placed my order I was asked to pay, yet the others weren't. This is my first review of Great Wall even though I've ordered take-out several times before. My most recent visit was my most diappointing. Usually, it's very good (which is why I'm being generous with 3 stars) and I think they have the BEST egg rolls around (really tho? How badly can you screw up an egg roll right???). And the counterstaff is very friendly. This was a Friday night about 8pm. It was VERY busy and not very organized. There were a lot of people just standing around waiting. And those are the GOOD things! Now to the BAD! This time I ordered a large container of chicken fried rice. It was mostly just fried rice! There were these little shreds of chicken and that was it! Very disappointing. The rice itself wasn't very flavorful and we had to drown it in soy and duck sauces. I don't know that I'll ever come back again. For the prices they charge...they should be adding more MEAT to the orders. If I wanted just plain rice, I would have ordered plain rice. I'm really curious if anyone else has had the same issue? We found this place by accident when we had to take a detour due to an accident on Route 1 and were very hungry. This is one of the best Chinese restaurants we have found in Delaware. The food is great as well as the service and the cleanliness. We were also surprised at the reasonable prices. We do not live nearby, but whenever we pass MIddletown, we are sure to stop by for excellent Chinese food. read more

We love the food from this restaurant. It is convenient and usually takes about 20 to 25 minutes for our order to be ready for pickup. The veggies are fresh and the food is authentic. The prices are good too, an added bonus. read more
