I ordered crabmeat wontons but there was no flavor of crab or anything, it was just mush in a shell. If wasn't for the orange sauce they're would be no flavor at all. Also ordered fried dumplings which had no flavor either but the dipping sauce, soy sauce had good flavor. But I didn't order for the sauce, they both were terrible. Best place to buy Chinese food in New Castle County! I've been coming here for about 30 years and sometimes you'd get some shardy chicken or some grainy undercooked rice, or some really bland lo mein depending on who was cooking/prepping that day. It deserved ~ 2-4 stars depending on who was working. This place has complete changed and every time I order the food is perfect! They also changed from the thick steamed dumplings to the thin cased! The Food was amazing!! The rice was great and the lomein was the best I've had in this area. The only issue I've had was when I was ordering there was one person on there who was rude and rushing me to order and also kept putting me on hold as if I'm not a paying customer as well. When we hung up and called back we got a different person and he was kind and understanding and was way more respectful! I hope the next time I order the other man isn't rude. read more

Omg this place is disgusting. Ordered broccoli and beef and another spicy beef dish. The broccoli and beef consisted of a huge amount of rice and like 4 tiny pieces of beef and broccoli. The spicy beef was even worse and there was basically a whole onion chopped up in it. Hardly any beef. I will never go there again. read more

SHRIMP ALLERGIES - BE AWARE! There are two reasons they got only three stars - one more serious than the other. I asked three times on the phone if the egg roll I would get with my meal would be pork. She said yes and repeated pork egg roll each time. Guess what I got instead? Shrimp egg roll. I should've known better, but I bit in and ate it and then went on to my meal Szechuan chicken and steamed dumplings. Well, it wasn't until I started having my allergic reaction that I realized it must've been the egg roll. The second reason they were down a star was because there was very little chicken. I think there were five pieces total. Szechuan Hot Wok had been one of our safe, local go-to places for Chinese takeout and delivery. We have seen them go through new owners and new cooks over the past 20+ years. I guess maybe that happened again. After a less than satisfactory experience several months back, we went with the safe options this time. The chicken & broccoli, shrimp egg rolls and white rice were all decent. Sadly, it all went downhill from there. The egg foo young -- one of my favorites -- was dry, in spite of my asking for extra gravy in the side. I paid for extra gravy. I just didn't get it. Chicken fried rice was next. Normally Szechuan's chicken fried rice was full of flavor -- as well as egg, onion, sprouts, peas, and...chicken. This was bland, no flavor, and little else besides brown rice, some onion, and a couple pieces of what may have been chicken. Chicken Lo Mein? Also bland and much greasiest than normal. Crab Fried Wontons? Not bad but awfully skimpy. All in all, the kids and I agreed, next time we drive to Governor's Square. Less convenient but better food. read more

DRY Chicken. I found out too late by not reading reviews first and got the Bourbon Chicken. Dry as a bone. There was more moisture on the top of the lid from condensation then there was in this dish. Best consistently good Chinese takeout (also have seating and delivery) in the Bear area, took a lot of trial and error to find. My favorites are the chicken in garlic sauce (loaded with veggies of all kinds but they don't skimp on the chicken either) and kung pao chicken, which are both listed as spicy, but I always ask for extra spicy or else it's just medium spicy, not much kick. If you prefer mild you can ask for that, it'll still be very flavorful. Egg and shrimp rolls are good, not too greasy, and they have a homemade duck sauce that's the best I've ever tasted. I don't mind paying for a carton that lasts me through several takeout orders for my egg or shrimp rolls. The fried rice and lo mein are quite tasty as well. Very friendly staff. read more

Personally, I prefer Szechuan and Hunan over other regional types of Chinese food. The food here was great. Took it home and was pleasantly surprised at the quantity and quality of the food.
