Really good deals! Currently doing their 3 years anniversary promotions with 2 of the few items at a discounted price and 12% off all take outs. Some items include lamb pot for $18.88 or beef ribs for $19.99. On top of that, if you spend over $100, you get 10 fried chicken hicken wings! Generous portions, great service, good food and flavours. Also got a $75 fish tail and it was big in portion and delicious. Chicken wings were fried crispy and hot. Lamb pot was a good deal just a bit on the watery side but you could use it to hotpot. Good chili oil Washrooms are downstairs, a bit ghetto but not bad.

Stumbled upon this hidden gem because of my mom * They sell classic chinese cuisine and have a huge menu, we got the lobster tower, sweet & sour chicken, turnip cakes, seafood noodles. They offered a free appetizer and dessert since we ordered a lot! Highly recommend going here. Garlic Oysters were 7.5/10 Super juicy but could be more flavourful! I want to try the pepper flavour next time. Still so shocked, it's huge!! Lobster Tower -8/10 Seafood Noodle- 7.5/10 Turnip Cake- 9/10 (better than congee queen super crispy and hot) Seafood fried rice 7/10 Sweet & sour chicken 8/10 It was very busy around 5pm on Sunday, with only 3 servers so it was a bit hard to get their attention but they were super nice and friendly!! I reccomend reservations for big groups. There is an english menu and servers know how to speak english so don't worry about the signs how they're all chinese !

Food 3.5 Service 3 Ambience 3 This is a very busy restaurant with very reasonable prices. The first time we came on a Tuesday night at 6:30pm. We waited about 15 minutes for a table. The dinner was your average Chinese restaurant. Nothing exceptional or especially notable. The restaurant has several large tables and it was extremely loud. Servers are extremely busy and move around briskly but are responsive to one's requests. The second time we went for lunch at 2:00pm and we were seated in about 10 minutes at a shared table. The afternoon tea menu includes a hot or cold beverage. We opted for the cold red bean ice cream drink. The lunch menu is very reasonable with dishes starting at $10-$13 including the cold/hot beverage. Hot Chinese tea is also included. We ordered: Groupa and Tofu and the second dish Winter Melon with Beef. The beef was quite chewy. There is public parking outside.

Since opening their doors, Shine Kitchen brings honest homestyle Cantonese cuisine across their menu options. Locals frequent this spot for classic dishes such as Stir Fried Lobster, Fried Rice Noodles, Congee, and more whether it's the lunch, dinner or afternoon tea menu. The service can be a hit or miss at times as during peak times, the staff can be a bit stressed at times and may be a little passive aggressive given the lack of staff to accommodate for large groups. Aside from that, the food is what Shine Kitchen should be frequented for!

Shine Kitchen never been my first choice. I ended up coming here twice when I asked my friends to decide where to go for dinner. The menu has enough selections and the price is reasonable. But every time after I ate here, I don't feel too well because of the amount of MSG they used. I doubt I will be back to Shine Kitchen again.

Better than I expected from the poor reviews! They do Peking duck quite well with the side ingredients chopped to the proper size. The duck was quite standard but the wrap was thin and tasty. But wish they provided at least 2 more wraps. They gave us a whole head of lettuce for the sang choi bao. It was kind of tedious to peel apart but I appreciated the amount given. We also had clay pot rice with beef patty and choi which was actually in a metal pot. It was okay only because the rice was too moist and there wasn't a nice crispy rice cracker to eat. I'd come back for the Peking duck and Sang choi bao though.

Family dinner night and this place was chosen by the elders in the family who live close by and come regularly. Judging by the number of oversized tables (can seat over 10 people) crammed into the restaurant this is a popular place for family meals. The menu has everything! Think Congee Queen or Wong menus. I even saw avocado shake on the drink options. What sets them apart is they have a good selection of set dinners. Let's start with the environment....there were waayyy too many tables/people crammed into this small space. I am almost certain they violated some fire code. If there are not enough chairs at the table they break out plastic stools for the customers. In terms of cleanliness I would give it a 2 star. The noise volume was high! Food...it was okay.....I would not say it was the best even if the prices were reasonable. We didn't order a set meal but chose separate items off the menu. Food was good but nothing memorable. Service....it was actually okay but with this many people don't expect white glove attentiveness. All in all the whole experience was meh. Soooo many options in Scarborough that I am sure you can find somewhere else where the food and prices are just as comparable and cleanliness would be higher! When we left there were 4 men standing in the middle of the parking lot (side by side!) smoking.

We ordered stir fry clams, scramble eggs with shrimp, and Chinese broccoli with beef. The taste is good, portion is big, price is on the cheaper side. However, the bowls are not too clean and very sticky feeling when you touch it! I do recommend for food but be aware of the bowls. Maybe do take out!

Ordered a take out, sweet and sour pork And 金杯牛肉. The service was good, they also gave us a bowl of sweet soup for dessert. Taste wise is ok, atmosphere there is noisy just like what you would expect in most restaurants.

The restaurant is a decent size with a cozy and relaxing ambiance. We ordered some of the most popular dishes, and everything that came out was absolutely delicious. Every dish had its own unique flavour and taste. There was a small mix-up with our order when one of the staff accidentally brought us tofu shrimp instead of the fried rice we ordered. Amy, one of the servers/managers, handled the situation so professionally. Even though it was already last call and the kitchen was closing, she was able to have the correct dish remade for us. She sincerely apologized for the mistake and even gave us a complimentary plum drink along with some butter cranberry cookies. Amy provided exceptional customer service and was absolutely awesome throughout the experience. Despite the long wait, the food and service made it worth it. I would definitely recommend this place and will for sure be coming back!

The restaurant was surrounded in tanks full of lobster, crab, seafood and then a ton of dry aged steaks. Definitely something you don't see in California. Clean and spacious. Service was what you would expect from a Chinese seafood restaurant. Overall the meal was good, for me and a few others at the table the star of the show was actually the fish. The lobster while impressive when they brought it out was not as flavorful as one would have expected. And same with the king crab legs - my favorite have been the ones I've had in SF. Was interesting to come and experience it but I wouldn't come back. I prefer quality food over an IG-moment.

The seafood is extraordinarily fresh--pulled straight from massive surrounding glass tanks--and prepared to absolute perfection with their signature Maggi sauce and garlic toppings. However, the major downside here is the notoriously slow and chaotic service. Due to the massive crowds, servers can be hard to flag down, orders take a long time to arrive, and the staff often feels rushed or inattentive. Despite seated near the door, it was well insulated and I never felt cold. The seating is still bar-like, with metal chairs over something more comfortable. The menu offers both HK-style cafe dishes and western seafood-oriented dishes. Staff appears to understand limited Chinese, and they double checked what our group ordered for drinks. I decided to go for the baked seafood spaghetti with cold Dutch tea (both hot and cold drinks are at the same price!). The presentation was a bit messy but flavourful. I wish the staff gave extra plate for me to place the empty oyster and clam shell rather than pushing them to the edge of my plate. The staff never gave us any water until we asked. I came here during Korealicious to try traditional Korean soy-marinated crab and shrimp…read more The complimentary side dishes were great. My favorites were the sweet soy-braised tofu skin, japchae, and spicy cucumber salad. The hot barley tea also paired really well with the marinated seafood. Marinated Crab The platter comes with six half pieces of soy-marinated crab and six half pieces of spicy marinated crab. The soy-marinated crab tasted very traditional, with a strong sweet soy sauce flavor. Compared with another Michelin pop-up restaurant I tried before, this version was much richer and saltier. The blue crab meat had a soft, jelly-like texture from the curing process, which was impressive. However, the soy sauce became quite dominant after a few pieces, so I highly recommend pairing it with the beef tendon soup or barley tea to balance the flavors. The spicy crab, however, wasn't my favorite. Instead of the sweet, savory heat that I usually associate with Korean gochujang, it leaned more toward the direct heat of Korean chili flakes, similar to the spice level in tteokbokki. I felt the spiciness overwhelmed the natural sweetness of the crab rather than enhancing it. Marinated Shrimp I was worried that eight shrimp wouldn't be enough, but the plate was huge. They use giant tiger prawns, each about the size of my hand, so two or three are already quite filling. Because the prawns are so large, they are only lightly cured, so the meat stays firm and springy instead of becoming soft like the Cantonese-style marinated shrimp I'm more familiar with. The sweet soy marinade penetrates the meat very well, making every bite flavorful. However, after a few shrimp, the soy sauce becomes increasingly dominant and the flavor starts to feel one-dimensional. Personally, I prefer the layered flavors of Cantonese-style marinated seafood, where the freshness of the seafood is complemented by ginger, garlic, cooking wine, and fish sauce. Beef Tendon Soup This ended up being my favorite dish of the meal. The broth was rich with beef flavor and had a wonderful silky texture from the collagen released by the tendon. It paired perfectly with the marinated seafood. A sip of the soup cleansed the palate from the strong soy sauce, making the next bite of crab or shrimp taste fresh again. The tendon itself was tender and well-cooked. The only thing I didn't enjoy was the mustard soy dipping sauce served on the side. Overall, this meal felt more like experiencing two very different marinated seafood traditions. Korean-style marinated seafood emphasizes the deep savory flavor developed through soy sauce curing, while Cantonese-style marinated seafood highlights the natural sweetness of the seafood with layers of ginger, garlic, cooking wine, and fresh aromatics. Even though I personally still prefer the Cantonese style, I enjoyed experiencing this traditional Korean approach.
