I would like to say that in spite of my negative review, our server Sierra was very kind and helpful. I'm giving Shin Dig 2 stars because the speed of service was less than desirable. I stood at the hostess desk and waited 5 minutes before anyone greeted me. After we were seated on the patio with our dogs, another patron had their dog off leash and ran up to our dog. Ours snapped at this dog because it scared him. I'm a little disappointed none of the employees said anything to them about their leash. We've definitely run into scary experiences with off leash dogs. Our drinks came quickly and they were really good. We got a Brown Derby and a beer. I was surprised how good the derby was as I'm not big on grapefruit and bourbon mixed, but it came together nicely and is the perfect summer drink. We waited a very very long time for our food. We ordered the breadsticks and the hot dogs + fries deal they had. It was maybe 45 minutes before we got all our food items. We saw another group leave because they were angry about the wait times. And lastly, I just wish the gravel patio wasn't SO dusty and dirty. I left feeling really icky. The food and drinks were good, but the service and wait times otherwise weren't up to par and we probably won't go back. read more

We have been to Shin Dig twice and it is a family favorite. The first time we just had pizza and fell in love with the toppings that are bursting with flavor and the crust had a nice soft chew. The second time we got some apps and salads with our pizza. The fried cauliflower was amazing and the salads refreshing. We already have plans to return. The first time being in, I came in with a large group of people so our service was a bit slow, it took them to make my sister's GF pizza a very, very long time, so much so that we were all finished with our food and were just about to leave. This is a trendy new restaurant that is located just outside of downtown. They have limited parking on the street in front of the restaurant and a huge private lot behind it (that is where the entrance is). This place has a huge bar with seating. You will find televisions above the bar. There is also a very large dining area available with booths and table and chairs. The staff there was very friendly. My server was awesome. They also have a few board games available to play in the back and what looks to be a patio area on the side. Being that we were in the middle of winter, they did not have any tables out on the patio area though. This joint serves up your typical pub food including burgers, wings, salads, sandwiches and pizza. You will find that they have a full service bar here with some delicious signature cocktails. They also have a kids menu for the kiddos. I got the Korean Fried Wings with a side of fries. The littles got some pizza. It did not take long for them to have our food ready. I would say about 10 minutes. The wings were nice sized and good, but they definitely would not be mistaken for authentic Korean wings. The fries were also good. It was a ton of food and I left full. I tried some of the littles' pizza and it was really good. I think that is their specialty. Anyway, this is a nice spot to catch a game, meet up with friends, bring the family, have a date night, or host a small to medium corporate gathering. Pizza and breadsticks were really good. Neither of us cared for the crispy garlic pieces. Pepperoni mac n cheese was good but the pepperoni didn't really add much flavor. Stopped in for a quick bite before catching a movie at the Kan-Kan. Asked the bartender what would be fastest, and they suggested either a salad or a smash burger. I went with the burger. It ended up taking about twenty minutes to arrive. Maybe there was a shift change or something behind the scenes, but for a quick recommendation, it missed the mark. Between the wait, the cost of the well whiskey coke, and the burger itself, it did not feel worth it. The burger was dry and overcooked, and just not very flavorful. I usually treat burgers as a baseline test for a menu, and this one did not impress. That said, I would come back to try other items. The wings looked solid, and the atmosphere is still a draw. The food was perfect, we got Nashville Hot wings, it came with pickled carrots (which I think they should sell them by jars!!!) and cucumber. Some friends and I were on on the hunt for a business that we all haven't checked out yet, and ShinDig popped up on Yelp. What a fun surprise to see this addition to the Windsor Park neighborhood neighboring so many other great businesses like Boulder Mass and Digs Garden Center. We were warmly greeted by the hostess, and our waiter was friendly as well. I was impressed by the variety of salad offerings despite a lot of the other menu offerings being on the heavier side like wings, pizza, hardy appetizers. I thoroughly enjoyed my cauliflower wings served with carrots and cucumbers along with a salad. The salad was a little overdressed and salted for my taste, but I'll chalk that up to them getting in the groove with the new menu. The manager came over and visited our table to check in and see how things were going. He was very friendly and on top of things. The space is very kid-friendly, and features a large wraparound bar with big-screen TVs. Based on what I've heard from friends, it's a great place to take your kids. During my visit, we didn't have any kids along. So happy to see this new development in the neighborhood and can't wait to see them succeed. What a great place to have a solo "hot-girl dinner," as they say. You know: a meal at the bar, eating a little of this and a little of that, phone out and scrolling Reddit, sipping a glass of wine. Also, A+ to whoever makes decisions about the lighting. I visited during the nighttime for dinner, and I stepped into a restaurant with soft, cozy lighting, which immediately made me feel calm. I ordered the Caesar salad and a side of fries, with a glass of Cabernet. The Caesar was very good, with romaine lettuce, charred red cabbage, focaccia croutons, marinated tomatoes, parmesan and a fancy sunflower seed pesto swirl on the plate. It's definitely not a classic Caesar in any sense, but it was tasty and cold and crunchy, with just the right amount of dressing. My fries were my favorite part of my meal: beer battered and crunchy on the outside but mealy and warm on the inside. The menu said they were supposed to come with a jalapeno cheese dip, but mine were served with ketchup, which was perfectly fine by me. They have a full bar here, with lots of beers on tap, as well as cocktails, cocktail slushies and wine. The service is excellent. They just recently opened, as of this writing, so the manager came up to me to ask me how my food was and encouraged feedback. I told him what I'm telling you: Everything was excellent! I had been seeing Shindig highlighted from several food influencers I follow. A friend had sent it in a text this day and I decided to give it a try. It's conveniently located near my home so the commute was great. It's back behind North Mass Boulder for a nice low key spot. Parking was a tad frustrating only because I parked where k though the entry door was as a "great ass spot" to find out we had to walk towards south of the building as that's where the entry door was located. There was signage just did not see from my car when I initially parked. I had gone with a friend and we were enjoy trying new places so we were excited to try Shin Dig for some wings and pizza. We both quickly decided on the Dragon Wings which came with a PHENOMENAL roasted garlic ranch. They have a Szechuan chili oil, which if you didn't know contains a pepper that gives a numbing sensation. These wings STOLE the show for both of us. Rip it in the ranch and MY. GOODNESS!! The menu curators did they thang with that combo. They seemed to be smoked then maybe baked. Not sure however it was a nice crisp, I could have used a tingy bit more, and extremely flavorful. We then contemplated between creating our own pizza or an original. We landed on Bee Sneez. After you check the ingredients, yes. We enjoy spicy foods. Haha. The pizza was good however was not anything spectacular in our opinions. The crust was balanced. I would have appreciated my bacon slices being more spread out. The service was unfortunately not very welcoming. We had a young gentleman that served us and for this to still be a fairly new restaurant (less than 6 months) we were hardly greeted, not asked if this were our first time nor given some insight into the menu and or maybe items they might enjoy. My friend got an ipa and wasn't offered a glass. It just was t the most pleasant experience. Maybe it was because the bar was extremely busy but customer service is customer service. We hardly received the bare minimum. I had peeped that the manager had come out. I'm assuming maybe he wasn't floating f around check in on guests asking their experience etc because maybe he was assisting with orders. However, again this is a new restaurant (I've served and hosted before) and it's a pleasant feel when you are checked in on )again considering it's a new establishment. It was nicely decorated, fun and spacious. As we waited we played uno which was fun. Overall it received a 4/5 stars due to service and the average pizza. I love the atmosphere and vibe. The games out front and board games on the inside are a nice touch. But the food. OH MY. The food was fantastic. The breadsticks were like nothing I've ever tasted; a different texture than what I'm used to but that's not a bad thing. Fully recommend. One friend got a burger, another pizza and I got the egg plant and goat cheese (it looks like a dip, but it's an entree), which I'm glad I got, it was a meal unto itself. Highlights are the Pork Wings and Dragon Wings! Reason for four stars is mainly for the "cocktails on tap" which almost every single one tasted too strong, too watery, or too tangy. Do Not order the cocktails on tap, hopefully the bar can make cocktails-to-order reliably. It can get busy in there with large parties and service can be negatively impacted, but on a regular night this place is solid.. avoid the cocktails on tap and set expectations when visiting since it is a large group restaurant and you'll have a blast. Hidden away gem will likely stay very busy for years. Downtown needs large group dining spots! read more

Shindig is a hidden gem for Indy and a good place to go with a group of friends or company happy hour. Both the inside and outdoor areas are large and quirky with decor. Service was okay--it wasn't crazy busy so not too many servers on duty. Some drinks were forgotten and tabs charged to the wrong person, so minus a star but I would still go back. Food-wise I tried an assortment of plates. The best were the caesar salad (not pictured but it was GREAT) and garlic butter breadsticks. I tried the Bee Sneez and Fun Guy pizzas--I don't think they were bad, but they're not my preferred type of pizza. Only get Bee Sneez if you don't mind fennel!! The food was absolutely incredible! We ordered the butcher block pizza, the boneless wings with the Korean chili sauce (with a side of garlic ranch), the garlic parm breadsticks with marinara and an order of the beer battered French fries with jalapeño cheese sauce. Everything was AMAZING! It was more food than we could eat! I ordered the Russet pizza, thinking that it was going to be similar to Theo's The Potato pizza (another CRG establishment), which I love. It was quite different, and there was a particular flavor in there that I didn't like (either the rosemary or the smoked part). I also ordered the Caesar salad which was small but good. Hopefully this place will become a good hangout spot. One word of advice though for those picking up-- the entrance is on the north side! This place is new and cool- but you definitely have to know what you are in for. While this place may have a menu of pizza and wings, this is not a "pizza and wings" place. The pizza and wings are innovative and experimental, not classic, cheap and reliable. While I love this, this may not be the place to bring your grandpa or father-in-law looking for some cheap wings and beer as they watch the game. The wings, while amazing and expertly prepared, only come with 4-6 per order according to the waitress. You can build your own pizza if you are looking for a more traditional one, but the ones on the menu are so good! If you are feeling experimental, definitely give one a try. The cocktails were going rate nowadays (above $12) so we opted out of those, but the appetizer we tried (the slaw) we pretty good! It did come cold which i was not expecting but it worked still. We tried the fennel pizza which was good! The wings were my favorite, I just wish it came with more!! Our skeptical brother got the hamburger and said it was very good as well. I would highly recommend this place to anyone I know. My wife and I came in on a Friday night. We were greeted promptly at the host stand, and the two hosts working were very friendly. Seated quickly, and in a quieter part of the place. Server greeted us quickly, and had our drinks to us within minutes. My drink was strong, and wasn't lacking quality ingredients. We shared the breadsticks with the garlic ranch- would highly recommend to anyone coming here they get the breadsticks- some of the best sticks we've ever had. I also got a Caesar salad. Very cheesy. Only complaint about it was it was about 50% cabbage- the menu mentions cabbage, but didn't think it would be a large part of it. We got a russet pizza and a sweet onion one to share. Another great addition to Indy from the Cunningham Group! My husband and I came in on a Friday evening for dinner. As they just opened a few weeks ago, they weren't super busy. The space was nicely decorated and seemed like it will have a great outdoor appeal once summer! Service was great, with our waitress following up with us several times and was always on top of things. For food, we started with the garlic butter breadsticks and the garlic ranch. Dare I say, these are the best breadsticks in the city. They were so good, they probably don't even need a sauce, but the ranch is to DIE for. Next time I will definitely get a salad so I can have more of that, LOL. We got smalls in both the Russet and Sweet Onion pizza. Each had 6 slices so we had plenty to take home. The ingredients of the pizzas were high quality and tasty, but we were crazy about the combinations. Next time we will try a different pizza or make our own. But overall, they were both good, just not our favorite combos. They also have a selection of board games sitting out, so we stayed a while after our meal and had a couple more drinks. The service was atrocious, the food was horrid and the wait time for everything was absurd! It took the server 35 minutes to bring our table drinks... Worst dining experience I've ever had! Will never return. When the food came it was like I was going to be eating something that was made from hunting small game. The wings looked like raccoon ankles. There have been 3 major atrocities in modern history... the birth of Putin, the recession and the creation of this restaurant. I greatly despise shin dig. All my homies hate shin dig.
