The dining space is tiny with 4 tables, so we were thankful to get a spot that held all of us. We picked up bread sticks and an olive pizza for under $30! Food came out quickly. The staff really hustles. The Halloween cups glow in the dark, the kids loved them. We've had HotBox at the West Lafayette location, but the pizza here was way better. The crust was nice and chewy. I have always loved HotBox pizza. It's affordable, it's convenient, and their pizza is very good for the price. I love getting their re-usable cups too. They aren't the best pizza around, but for what it is it is amazing. This specific review is of their set up at GenCon too. They had a tent at the GenCon 2022 block party. The line moved quick for how long it was and the service was good. They had a special pizza there, too. Tater invader. It had tater tots, green onions, bacon, and sour cream. With cheese too. The customer service I experience with HotBox pizza was by far astounding! We were in town for the Indianapolis Central Zone Invitational (volleyball tournament), so you can only imagine how busy the weekend was for all local businesses. Not only did the staff get our 7 pizza order completed in less than an hour but they were extremely patient with us and even took the order to the car and loaded it up for us in our cargo van. I have never had a pizza establishment go above and beyond to provide for our team the way HotBox did. From napkins, plastic ware, plates, peppers, cheeses, and cups HotBox provided it all! The price was very doable as well! I highly recommend the cheese bread which garlic butter. It is making my mouth water just thinking of it right now. Overpriced pizza with terrible service. Great combo. Last order was placed online and when arrived to pick up only half the order had been made. Was told they'd hurry to make the rest. 5 mins. 15 mins later I asked for my money back as now half my order had just been sitting and they still hadn't started the other half. Was offered nothing to compensate for their incompetence and the inconvenience. I don't understand the hype! Everyone has told me I MUST try HotBox because it's the best pizza in town. Not sure I agree with that. I did enjoy the breadsticks and the pizza was good (I kept it simple and just ordered cheese) but I do think there's some competition out there. The lunch deal is a great bargain though! You pick two options: salad, breadsticks or a pizza slice for $5.99. The order of breadsticks is huge so you'll certainly have leftovers. I came across HotBox Pizza and decided to give it a try. The delivery was pretty quick I'd say about 30 minutes from the time I ordered which I feel like is fast for delivery. Thumbs up on that. As far as the pizza. Again I was impressed. I got the pesto pizza (no red sauce) w veggies and original style crust and it was smackinnnn. I will openly say that I used to bot be a fan of hotbox, but the quality has gotten much better in the last couple of years and I love it! The pizza is classic "fast food" pizza style but the quality and consistency sets it apart from others. The Dixie Chicken is the best in my opinion, but even a classic pepperoni is great! The Cheesy Bread is very underrated, it is a must order. I'd also suggest ordering a drink because they have large reusable plastic cups that you get to keep. On Friday August 28 we were talking about pizza at work. I'd been wanting to try Hot Box, and my coworkers said it was great- everything pizza should be. I preordered and went to pick up right after work. I ordered extra cheese, and almost ordered extra sauce but decided it probably wasn't necessary. I wanted to see what they normally put out. They didn't add the extra cheese, because it was kinda sparse, and damn I wish I would've gotten the extra sauce because the pizza was so disappointing! It looked like it had already been sitting out for 2 days, so dry and shriveled. The taste was ok, but nothing like what I was craving and anticipating. The service was fine, and the breadsticks were surprisingly good for being "plain" and not coated with anything like other shops make them. I would definitely get them again. The app originally placed me in some far out suburb, so had trouble processing my order. Turns out the "deal" I selected was $5 more in downtown Indy. Fair I guess, but frustrating. It could have been just an off day for them, so I'll try it again at some point. And I would have put this in a follow up survey instead if one was offered. But it wasn't, so here it is. Come for the breadsticks and stay for the colorful cups! This restaurant has a wide variety of unique and delicious pizza options. My personal favorite is the Dixie Chicken which is a BBQ pizza twist! But no pizza would be complete without the famous HotBox stix. These are so amazing! I'm not sure what it is about this combination but it's truly my favorite pizza place in Indy. You may also find yourself collecting their colorful cups! Every so often HotBox will create a new colored plastic cup for their drinks. These are a fun touch and nice to keep around! Consistently bad. I work across the street from this location so I've probably had this pizza more than most, and when my company orders pizza for an event it's usually from here. It has never been an enjoyable experience. I've found facial (or what I HOPE is facial) hair in my pizza on more than one occasion, and I don't know that there's one time I haven't been able to see down to the sauce because the cheese layer is so thin and sparse. But today... today was the last straw. Our company is hosting a training event so they placed a very large order. I went to grab some of the pizza and was warned that the pizza is very "tough". I foolishly ignored this warning and grabbed two slices anyway. Well, tough is an understatement. This pizza is shoe leather. I really hope my company got their money back for this inedible garbage. I was introduced to HotBox pizza at my first Gen Con years ago. At the time I was staying outside of town town and ordered a pizza for delivery from a different location. I wasn't impressed. During a different Gen Con I tried it from the downtown tent. It was like cartoon blast lines appeared around me and a rock anthem played every time I took a bite. I was hooked! If I did crack I would have given it up for Hot Box. Now that I live in Indianapolis I order it once a week. It arrives fast and hot and I haven't found a special pie I haven't liked. Porky the pie and the cheese specialty pizza are my favorites. I'm also a fan of sticks and salad. It's fun to try the seasonal pie when a new one comes out. read more

This is the second time I checked out this place. I've done take out twice as it seems to be so busy to dine in. That's a good sign especially when there's people waiting out the door! They have late hours if you have the munchies. The place has a small dinning area and one restroom. You serve yourself your fountain drinks when you need a refill which is good. They have a huge menu sign posted above upfront or you can grap a quick menu while you wait in line. They have specialty pizzas and also build your own. They had a special pizza of the month like Mac daddy pizza which is Mac n cheese with bacon top on the pizza. They also have different sauces from white sauce to red sauces. They have a friendly staff and they seem to enjoy what they are doing. They appreciated tips. On to the pizza: I like their thin crust it was like cracker crust! Their pepperoni was crispy which I liked. Their sausage is crumbled topping vs big pieces which was ok. Their supreme pizza was pretty good too. Regular crust is crispy on the outside and chewy which is also pretty tasty. The pizza came out piping hot in a brown cardboard box. Overall, a nice experience good food and great customer service. Location! Location! Location! This was just around the corner from Hyatt House and we wanted a quick lunch. The Front Desk recommended The Pub, but this was next door and pizza sounded good. I noticed the dirty tables and Tootsie Roll wrappers on the floor, chair & tables. I later learned you get free Tootsie Rolls with your meal. Ironically, the pizza & Tootsie Roll had the same chewy texture. First, the slice of pepperoni was a decent size. I prefer a crispier pizza. It was also quite doughy. The sauce was a bit too sweet, and the pizza had too much sauce on it. The bread sticks were quite doughy, and clearly undercooked. The garlic sauce was quite tasty. Our soda was flat. A first for me. Service was ok. But this might just be the worst pizza I've tasted - and I'm including gas station pizza in with that. While the pizza was hot, it could have benefitted from some time under a heat lamp to give the crust at least some color. This is my first time to eat here. I see there are many locations. Maybe it's a "local" thing that I don't get. But I'll be happy to walk further the next time I'm looking for a bite. read more

Based on my experience yesterday (March 17th), I would normally only give maybe 2 stars. However, keeping in mind the crowds and sobriety (or lack thereof) of the crowds, I had to be a little generous. Our group stopped here for a quick bite during the bar crawl. Now, I understand the building is located in downtown, so space is limited. There were a grand total of four tables in the lobby. On a normal day, this probably isn't enough. Everyone adopted the "Well, I'll just wait until some space clears out" mentality. You can probably imagine how that worked. Ordering was not a pain. I only waited a couple of minutes to be helped. The girl on the register (poor thing) looked overwhelmed. She didn't seem to have much help on the front-end. I ordered six breadsticks and a drink, which I assumed were pre-made. I got my drink and waited. And waited. And waited. I only got my breadsticks when I went to the counter and asked for them. All in all, I waited about 30 minutes. The line was so crowded, however, that getting through any earlier would have taken just as long. The breadsticks themselves were delicious! Well seasoned and perfectly sized. I could only eat three. I gave the remaining to a panhandler who also said he loved their bread, so obviously it's consistent in taste. The remainder of my group enjoyed a pizza called "The Hot Chick" and said it was very good. Three grown men downed an entire large pizza. I don't know if that's any indicator of flavor, but it seems promising, so... My biggest criticisms of this particular store are: The size. They seriously need to figure something out, whether it's moving locations or tearing down a wall. (Lol.) Nothing about that aspect of the experience was safe. The kitchen staff. I counted no less than five of them - at any given time - standing and looking at phones. The girl working the register deserves some type of recognition for simply dealing with everything the way she did, and I will make sure the store is aware. The wait times. Now, given the circumstances, this is probably not a typical experience. I'm sure I will revisit this store at some point, but it won't be on a Saturday afternoon with a horde of drunk people. read more
