    Mars Hill Monster

Fantastic pizza. Ordered a delivery and got a small Mars Hill Monster since i saw it being recommended and seemed to be a local special. When i saw the size i got a little worried but wow, it was jam packed with toppings and flavor. Absolutely great, will order again next time I'm in town

Look for the sign along Kentucky Ave
    Ken N.

While traveling along Kentucky Avenue, I saw the sign for Mickey & Bill's Pizza, so I slowed to turn and go over the railroad tracks to get to this small shop. They have a small lot along the building and the entrance is on the northeast side. As I entered into the lobby where the order counter was, I noticed a very small dining room to my left and a few chairs to sit at if I needed to wait. I was greeted and the woman behind the counter was very patient and helpful in describing the ingredients in the uniquely named pizzas. (Note that they have flyers off to the left side of the counter which I hadn't seen when entering.) The less specific menu is listed overhead behind the counter. I hadn't called ahead, but since it wasn't a busy time, they were able to make my small pizza in about 15 minutes. I got one called "The Works" which had 8 party cut pieces and is similar to Supreme pizzas elsewhere: crumbled sausage, mushroom, green pepper, onions, pepperoni, and two kinds of cheese on a thin crust. While waiting, I noticed they also have wings and breadsticks, salads, and some sandwiches to choose from. They also have an option called "Take & Bake Pizza" that you get your pizza freshly made but finish baking it at home. And I recommend grabbing a flyer since they have a list of discounts available on larger orders. And the pizza? Well, my wife and I like a crisp bottom crust so this was very enjoyable. The ingredients were also piled high with just enough sauce and cheese to balance the flavor. The firm crust allowed the ingredients to stay on the pizza without falling off. That's a plus for me. (Not so much for my dog.) I don't know if I like pizza (any pizza) enough to drive out of my way for, but if you are commuting along Kentucky Avenue or live in the area, I suggest you will enjoy your food from here. Great pizza and people. A historical pizza joint in the heart of the city. Working class, corporate lunches, kids home from school and needing lunch. This place helps define the culture of Indy. Truck drivers based in the city and from across the US know this place.

Pizza was hot & fresh ready in about 25 minutes. The service was friendly. The pizza was really good. The sauce had great flavor, and the toppings are under the cheese which I love! The breadsticks were good as well, however I was expecting them to be stuffed vs the sausage and cheese kind of laid on top. Overall a good choice, I would definitely order again.

Someone recommended the Taco Pizza from here the other day so we are going to try it out.

Our service was appropriately paced for the time it takes to make a Chicago deep dish pizza. I liked the TVs they had in the center of our dining area, which had some pre-season football coverage. The booths have taller partitions so it feels more intimate. I also liked the marquee saying "EAT PIZZA". I will certainly follow instructions there! The pizza we got was "The Special": sausage, green pepper, onion, and mushroom. I thought the pizza was fine, my only thing about Chicago style is that the vegetables can't caramelize like they would on a regular pizza. But that's just a personal opinion. I am pleased with the range of mocktail offerings, which are all $7.

No pizza place from my home state can't compare so Giordano's is always something to look forward to during our 4 day visit. Meat and more meat! This was our table's pizza that was split between 4 people. Honestly can't complain, I love all of their pizza but since we only visit once a year, we always order deep dish style. Never fails and always leaves us full! Carnivore? Then you should definitely order this dish! Make sure it's the biggest one too! Calabrian Chili Honey Chicken Wings Ok so I can't be entirely biased with Giordano's. We wanted to try this out since it was a limited chicken wing flavor and honestly it wasn't the best. I mean it's a pizza joint? They specialize in pizza but we were so hungry that we figured to try it out. Hey, if you love chicken wings or just an enthusiast for wings in general, by all means give this one a shot if it's still available! Overall Always excited to come to Indiana cause I KNOW I'll be eating some damn good pizza. Deep dish style isn't for everyone which is nice that they have their Tavern Style and Thin Crust Pizzas. But since Giordano's specializes in deep dish pizza, it's highly recommended to order deep dish style! can't wait to visit again next year and see what new pizza they'll have! And can't forget about the awesome servers doing their best on those busy convention nights! Y'all the real MVP's! Ambiance is warm and inviting with a bit of high noise since it's also got a bar but it never phases me, if anything it's relaxing since I know I'll be indulging into pizza goodness. Just remember to come hungry and you'll guaranteed to leave happy! See you next year Giordano's!

I have to laugh that my first review for this location of Bazbeaux, an Indy pizza icon since 1986,…read morewas actually my 300th Yelp review. Now, I'm over 1800 reviews and Yelp has become a huge part of my life. I was attending a nearby event related to Indy Shorts Film Festival and decided I wanted to visit Mass Avenue a bit once the event was over. This was early afternoon. After looking around a bit, I opted for a long-awaited return to Bazbeaux. Of course, a lot has changed in this area in the last few years. Parking prices are up (way up), though it's pretty plentiful with nearby street parking (metered) and parking along Mass Avenue. You also have a couple nearby parking garage options. Finding an accessible spot is fairly easy - curb cuts remain solid in this area and there continue to be some (but not all) crosswalks with audio. As was true nine years ago, accessibility on Mass Avenue can be challenging. That said, I think it has improved. I entered Bazbeaux and immediately noticed some improvement right away. There are two sides - a dining side, a bar side (with tables), and an aisle you can use for carry-out. The interior is warm, calming, and surprisingly intimate. The bar area is a bit louder, it's a bar area after all, but it's still pretty quiet. Service here remains strong. The hostess offered the bar area or a booth. Tables are not all wheelchair friendly, however, there are quite a few accessible options. My server, Samuel, was friendly and attentive without being overwhelming. He paced my meal nicely - I ordered garlic bread, my usual unsweetened iced tea (I think they still serve Mighty Leaf - an unusual choice that I love). I ordered a small (10") pizza with one-topping (pepperoni). I lingered a little bit, though not excessively so like my last visit. This time around, I was alone and my meal time was more traditional. The prices were definitely higher than last time, however, what price isn't higher than nine years ago? They were on park with the market these days and I had no issues with it - I think my meal came in at about $19 for the pizza, garlic bread, and iced tea (and I did get my always desired refill). Bazbeaux is unique in that every location (Mass Ave, Broad Ripple, Carmel) is located along the Monon Trail. They all have outside dining options, as well. They serve beer and wine, sandwiches, pizza, and more. One thing I have to say - accessibility is improved. I was noticeably bothered by it the last time I was here. This time around, I was comfortable and could easily function (I did not try the bathroom). While I could still see it being a bit difficult when packed, I arrived at an ideal time and was quite comfortable. The food was good, the service was very good, the prices were fair, and the atmosphere was nice and peaceful after a busy morning event. It really hit the spot. So, yeah. Last time around, I gave Bazbeaux a 3-star review. This time, I'm forking over that 4th star.
