At the end of the day, the best people to have by your side when choosing your prom/wedding dress are the ones who love you, cheer you on, and make you feel like the most gorgeous girl in the world. It was quite the experience! I was a bit overwhelmed by all the dresses, styles and colors! And prices!!!!! Good Lord!!! However, this was a special moment for my daughter and I was so happy to be included. Mom was at the helm of it all, but I was very honored to have been included in the final decision! Plus, I paid!!! Overall, the service provided by the staff was nothing less than exceptional! Staff were friendly, amicable, and very helpful throughout the process. Eventually, she found the dress she wanted and boy were we wowed! Simply gorgeous! My only gripe would be that all dresses are FINAL SALE and they do not place any dresses on hold (not even for 24 hrs).

Unfortunately, the customer service was completely different the second time. The dress I bought was the only one they had left, and it was the display dress. It already had loose threads and showed signs of wear. I politely asked if they could offer a small discount because it wasn't in perfect condition, but they immediately said no. I also asked if they had the same dress in another color or if they could show me similar styles, but they weren't interested in helping. The staff was rude, dismissive, and made me feel like I was bothering them. I ended up buying the dress because I had a deadline and didn't have time to keep shopping elsewhere. However, when you're spending a significant amount of money on a formal dress, you expect good customer service and merchandise in excellent condition. Unfortunately, this store failed on both. I would not recommend shopping here based on my experience. I was very disappointed with my experience at this store. It's relatively similar to what I've been to in other upscale areas, but the quality of the clothing is top notch, which makes it worth the price. They also seem to have some decent sales and a welcome offer online, with an option for shipping or pickup at one of their three locations. I appreciated how patient the associate was with me during my first trip (it was definitely over an hour and I left with four bags haha) but I was able to find the perfect date outfit and restock my closet post move and I have already been back again.

When I went to get my hat a while later someone had moved it to the floor (yikes) and a plastic cup of Coke had apparently slipped off a window sill above and dumped its contents into my upside down hat. By the time I got there the Coca Cola had been drip drip dripping through the top of the upside down hat and puddling onto the floor. I about threw up when I saw it. I may have said some bad words. I ran to a sink to try and rinse out the horrible brown stain right on the front crown but the damage was done. I thought my negligence had destroyed a $300 hat. That's when I found El Centenario in Chula Vista. They delivered. They washed it, reshaped it, and stiffened it to Stetson factory standards. All for $50. Couldn't be happier. If you wreck your had, trust them with it.

Saw 3 shops and were disappointed with selections and prices, but we were unable to see Mario's Boutique that day. We ended up going to LA next day to see all the dress shops in the LA downtown area and I was not impressed of how the dresses are sold without price tags upfront, but realized buying a legit quince dress is gonna cost $$$$. We went home frustrated, defeated with the whole dress search and the cost of everything. On Monday, I decided to see just go back to Mario's to view the Quinceanera dress selections just to see if there was anything worthwhile before I took my daughter. When I came in, Mario acknowledged me, but he was on the phone so I perused the dresses on my own, which was fine. I was super impressed with the beautiful selections over any of the other shops I previously saw. I told him my price range and told him which ones I liked and I would bring my daughter back the next eve to try them on. His prices were competitive with others and fair, but I felt he had more quality dresses. So we came back Tues eve, and my daughter tried on 3 dresses and she was in love with them all and Mario was really patient, yet hustle to fit all 3 dresses and did not charge us to try them like some shops do. It is a LOT of work to get these dresses on especially with the lacing on the back and the hoopskirt, but he did it all on his own, and also tried to tend to other customers as best he can. He said he would retrieve the dress we chose in smaller size from storage the next day. He even had the train modified to a big bowtie ready for us to pickup with the dress that same day even tho he originally told us it would take a week. My daughter was super happy, the dress fit perfect and the bowtie, and the tiara to top it off. We felt relieved since our event is less 3 months and can now check this off our list!!! The place is not big, but the selection is REALLY really nice, different colors, styles and sizing. I can see some customers may want the red carpet service, but we found Mario to be more than sufficient and very nice. Come during the weekdays and maybe you will beat the weekend crowds and get more attention, or make an appointment so you can at least have some dedicated time. Just keep in mind, not to be too high maintenance and demanding and realize beautiful Quince dresses will cost you! Give Mario's Boutique a try and you wont be disappointed. THANK YOU MARIO!!!!!!
