Today, that appreciation grew even more! I reached out to Jabo's on behalf of Reach Out Honduras as we were gathering donations for our annual fundraiser and Jabo's Ace Hardware was very generous in supporting our event. We are so grateful for their willingness to support a cause that is helping provide educational opportunities and a brighter future for vulnerable children in Honduras. The manager I worked with, Mr. Spalding, was kind, gracious, and genuinely happy to help! As an extra-special surprise, we discovered that he was actually a former Mockingbird Elementary student where I taught years ago! What a fun connection and such a small world! It great to have him back in Coppell. I know businesses often hear from customers when something goes wrong, so I wanted to make sure Jabo's heard from someone who had a genuinely wonderful experience. Betty and another store associate helped me with another purchase. They were helpful, friendly and fun! After 30 years of shopping here at Ace Hardware, I can honestly say that their commitment to their customers and their community is something worth recognizing! Thank you, Jabo Ace Hardware, for your generosity and for having such wonderful people representing your store. Your kindness is very much appreciated! P.Taylor

I'll never shop there again. Over a decision as simple as making a key. They are now prioritizing…read moremaking 4-5$ over taking care of local people. I have shopped there for 12 years, perhaps 2-300$ a year. I brought in a blank key I had purchased many years ago and asked them to make a copy of my house key. They told me I had to buy a new blank or they couldn't do it. People shop at places like Jabos to get the service you can't get at the box stores. The young man couldn't figure out how to operate the machine and wouldn't admit it. Then he got a lady who gave me the "you have to buy from us" routine. Neither were friendly. Then the manager finally came and gave me the same routine. Finally I asked him if he was going to be able to help me. I asked the question in a way that got to the point and made him decide. He stammered around and never did answer. At that point I did say "shit" to which he got immensely offended and started pointing his finger at me. "The new machine won't let us". Surely there is an override and in the rare event that there isn't, I hope the owner takes note. Needless to say, but I won't be returning to the local small business because of two things. Poor attitude and poor service. As the manager of a small store, you have to make big decisions. they made me feel as though I was at one of the big box stores. The sad thing is that I shop there because I had come to enjoy and expect the service, in a world that service is hard to find. Before you judge me, let me ask you. If it was your store which decision would you make. Make a key or 4-5$?

That said lots of stuff was minimally 30% off and some things 50% off, but prices were still high for my budget. I bet this place would be fun after Christmas for all the stuff that didn't sell. I would say, if you are starting a home from scratch, have a nice budget and are assured of all your measurements and layouts, you might be able to find some gems, but otherwise, beware. I have been casually looking for a new end table and figured this was a good place to check out. I wasn't really blown away. Yes things are discounted, but still quite expensive. This being an outlet, a lot of the furniture had little scratches or the doors didn't pull easily. A lot of it was made out of lightweight metals and particle board.
