I have shopped there for 12 years, perhaps 2-300$ a year. I brought in a blank key I had purchased many years ago and asked them to make a copy of my house key. They told me I had to buy a new blank or they couldn't do it. People shop at places like Jabos to get the service you can't get at the box stores. The young man couldn't figure out how to operate the machine and wouldn't admit it. Then he got a lady who gave me the "you have to buy from us" routine. Neither were friendly. Then the manager finally came and gave me the same routine. Finally I asked him if he was going to be able to help me. I asked the question in a way that got to the point and made him decide. He stammered around and never did answer. At that point I did say "shit" to which he got immensely offended and started pointing his finger at me. "The new machine won't let us". Surely there is an override and in the rare event that there isn't, I hope the owner takes note. Needless to say, but I won't be returning to the local small business because of two things. Poor attitude and poor service. As the manager of a small store, you have to make big decisions. they made me feel as though I was at one of the big box stores. The sad thing is that I shop there because I had come to enjoy and expect the service, in a world that service is hard to find. Before you judge me, let me ask you. If it was your store which decision would you make. Make a key or 4-5$?

I didn't realize this is a franchise that just anyone with enough money can purchase. To start - salesperson met on site and was very friendly and provided a competitive quote. I agreed on the spot and work scheduled to paint exterior trim and re-stain fence - and color-match both. When the "crew" showed up to perform the work...the two people (man and wife) were not exactly what I was expecting.... Nice people, but not what I would call a painting crew. Since the "project manager" was very rarely around, I also could not communicate with the "crew" because of a language barrier. The project manager was a nice kid. Kid - being the operative word in that sentence. Obviously had no experience or training. I was clear to him that my pointed questions and aggravation wasn't personal. That said, I swear he woke up one day; put down the game controller and decided to be a project manager. (EXAMPLE) When I pointed out OBVIOUS areas of my fence that were missed during the staining, I was informed that there would be additional cost for more stain. Of course I corrected that line of thinking, but really...should I even have to go there? I pointed out that they didn't stain the top of the wooden fence - and then had to have a conversation to convince him that the top of the fence is still part of the fence. I am not joking. That was a real conversation. (EXAMPLE) The salesperson told me that they would color-match stain and paint. Project manager asked me to make a trip to Sherwin-Williams in the morning so that I could choose the right color. What??!! Rarely were appointment times met. The "crew" showed up on time, but the "project manager" - that was a different story. I was so concerned about the completion of this project that I took off work on the last day - just to micro-manage the "crew" by using as basic an English language I could muster. I only hope that the paint applied to the exterior trim of the house lasts - as well as the staining of the fence. I would do the work myself - before hiring this team ever again. I have better ways to spend $5100. I'm displeased with the lack of professionalism; the fact that I had to constantly point out obvious areas of missing paint/stain; the inability to communicate effectively with "crew." Do not be fooled by a great website and friendly salesperson. I see some of these reviews received a response from the business manager. I would greatly appreciate a phone call from this person.     We had DFW Painting repaint our entire house after we purchase it. This included walls, ceiling,…read moretrim, and some cabinets. They also repaired some large drywall cracks and gaps that opened up due to recent foundation work, as well as two water-damaged windowsills. Our project manager was Damien. Our painting crew was led by Victor. Quote -- they were in the middle of the range, about 1/2 as much as the most expensive quote. The quote process was much more of a "consultation" where he explained all the work and repairs in detail and why each one was necessary. Other companies were just about getting to the final price as quickly as possible, instead of helping us understand each element of work necessary. Quality of work -- house was painted exactly to plan. There was some confusion about one room with a complicated roof line, but after a quick conversation with our project manager we sorted it out without extra expense or time spent. Timing -- The crew finished up a day ahead of schedule. We did not require any touch-ups. Cleanup -- No issues. The house was mostly free of dust and there were only a few "drips" that all came up with some scrubbing. All furniture was protected. Damien is highly professional and very detail-oriented. We were very happy with the work done.

Around 9:00 AM, someone called me to schedule an appointment for the following week. I did schedule for the following week because I honestly thought they were a different painting company, since I had contacted several and also had other estimates being scheduled. I never heard her clearly say she was calling to reschedule today's confirmed appointment. She may have thought she explained that, but the communication of that critical piece was very vague and brief. A proper introduction should have been something like: "Hi, this is Elizabeth with DFW Painting. I know we have you scheduled today at 10:00 AM, but unfortunately we need to reschedule due to..." That would have made the situation clear. That is a basic and proper opening line for something like this. Because her communication was so unclear, I didn't even realize she was canceling today's appointment and that they were the ones that were already scheduled to come. I am an executive who communicates via email, virtually and in person every day. I am well-versed in proper communication. That confusion and lack of professionalism is why I decided not to move forward with them. Communication is paramount.

We've been in our home for 25 years and throughout that time it made many small changes to our landscaping, following the sun and shade. This was effective for many years. However, following The Great Texas Freeze of 2021, several scorcher summers, and the the removal of several big tree in the last two years, our front yard appeared to a be a post-apocalyptic waste land, a neighborhood eyesore, and far beyond our ability to update and repair ourselves. My wife and I had many ideas but we're not able to transfer our ideas for our yard that would fully meet the look, along with the low environmental impact and minimal maintenance requirements we wanted. In addition to the cosmetic appeal, there were extensive needs for hardscape repair, a redesign and installation for our sprinkler system, and to tackle drainage issues. We were afraid we would need to coordinate efforts and schedules for several different companies to meet this wide variety of needs. However, Grow It Land Designs had the expertise and skill set to provide a one-stop solution and resources to execute this plan to address all of our needs in a manner that wildly exceeded all of our expectations . Skills and knowledge are based expectations for any company you would wish to do business with. Grow It land designs far exceeded all expectations for landscape company, or any organization you would trust to take care of your home. Communication and responses to questions were detailed and timely. All members of the Grow It Land Design team were extremely professional, courteous, and very respectful of our needs. This was a multi week project and throughout the time they were very considerate not only of our daily family routines( including pets !! ) but also very sensitive to any concerns of our neighbors might have regarding possible disruptions during this time.
