Best little diner in town. Great food, friendly servers and lots of pie! So much pie, so yummy!

Easily the best breakfast place in the area. The prices are super good! I usually get the scrambled eggs, homemade toast, hash browns and bacon! You'll find yourself waiting for a table if you go on a Sunday morning/ early afternoon-- worth the wait. The waitresses are always super kind and accommodating. Fine dining it is not but the food was good and fresh. I had walleye for breakfast and it was great. Everyone else raved about toast, pancakes, cream, and eggs. Sorry about your spaghetti but I always stick with what they fix fresh. I have a hard time with pasta. Yes it could use a good cleaning and paint job but it is in the U P and we all enjoyed it. read more

The food was excellent. The price was excellent. However, we waited for over an hour to be served. It wasn't the fault of the waitress. There were two servers. The restaurant was full of people, and only two tables were eating. People were looking around, wondering what was going on in the kitchen. As I was saying, the food was great. Went to this location on a Friday Afternoon, wasn't to packed but I can see how the perception of busy and crowded could be determined. Got their fried lake trout w/ hashbrowns and must say was absolutely delicious. Was fresh and not frozen at all, majority of their food is homemade. We went there for dinner with another couple. Three of us ordered the special of the day, I ordered another meal. They brought salads for our companions, then their dinners. When they were nearly done, we got our salads. We never did get our meal. After waiting over 45 minutes we just left. This was our first - and LAST- time there. The restaurant wasn't full so I don't know what the problem was but my husband REALLY wanted a good turkey dinner. We were very disappointed. read more

Love this place! Yes, it's a greasy spoon. Yes, it's a diner. Yes, its located in West Ishpeming, a city that the snooty, snobbish, uncouth prigs of Marquette refuse to grace with their holier-than-though presence....but despite that, this restaurant is a VERY good place to go for a very good, well-priced, very fine, home-cooked meal. Sherri's is also the only restaurant in Ishpeming where you can get a good breakfast on Sunday. Buck's is a disaster. Their Turkey dinner is excellent. I've had it a few times over a few months and enjoyed it very much every time. Their spaghetti is the best in Marquette county, much better than the Villa or Casa. (Though it doesn't compare to my own). I spent a week in Rome, Italy and 3 years in Europe so I know good spaghetti. Sherri's is pretty damned good, especially for the price. Their Club sandwich (my favorite) is well apportioned, tasty and well-priced. Their Hot Dog is HUGE. I ordered two of them with fries and was full before I took the 2nd bite of the second hot dog. I can go here with a family of four and pay under $25 and get a very filling, good-tasting meal. For just $40 we leave stuffed to the gills from appetizers, entrees AND desserts feeling fat, content and very, very happy. I recommend you go early or between mealtimes as it can get quite full but even so, the staff will always rush to clean tables between patrons so even when full you can usually get a table or be seated at the long counter. They also have extra staff during rush times which is super rare around here. Sherri's has high-chairs and a kid's menu. They also have crayons and drawing menus for the kiddies. Their kid's menu is pretty good too. Ask for a grilled cheese sandwich or for the desserts. Kids love their chocolate cake dessert. Are the tables dated? Yes. Could the place be a bit cleaner, assuredly. It's a diner and it's been around for years. Could the place use some updating and a paint job. Probably. But the food is well worth the price. That's the biggest reason to visit. What's the second biggest reason? The staff. These waitresses and cooks are not your typical letterman, preppy, enviro-PC stuck-ups who think their exhaust smell's of fresh baked bread. Nope, these are real people. Good people. They have genuine smiles and actually mean it when they ask about your day. They work hard and the do their best to make sure your meal arrives quickly and with care. For that reason alone it's worth it to pay them a visit. Some of the waitresses are awfully cute too. :P Oh, and before I forget, I made a point of speaking to the cooks and thanking them for my excellent Turkey dinner. They were friendly, happy to hear a nice review, asked how they could improve (how do you fix perfection?) and very eager to please. How many cooks take the time to speak with customers? Not many and certainly not around here. Sherri's is military friendly and gives military discount unlike many of the places in Marquette where the staff is openly hostile to military clientele (yeah I'm talking to you Villa). Sherri's staff is pleasant, kind-spirited and genuinely care. And the best thing is that they work hard to correct any issues if they occur, which is very rare. I asked for a coke without ice but got ice anyway. When I told the waitress of her mistake she apologized profusely and immediately fixed it on the spot; she got me a fresh glass and drink and didn't charge me for it. Now, THAT is customer service. Are there cleaner places in Marquette county? Yes. Do other places have better décor, bigger seating areas and manicured grounds? Yes. Even so, most of those places have crap service and even worse food. Sherri's has what counts, good food, good service and good prices. I will go back again and again.
