A lot of steps to walk up because the elevator was broken. We had wait staff to wait on us. We had to ask for things along the dining experience. The Cobb salad was good but the raspberry vinegar dressing was only ok. The seating area was fine with vintage tables and chairs. Big windows with lots of light. I am not a fan of the extra fee called operational charge.

Great breakfast place downtown Marquette. I've never been disappointed when coming here. They have a unique and varied menu - something for everyone.

The breakfast there tastes great. The servers were kind and the food came out quick. I only waited for about 10 mins for a table on a Saturday morning (which was awesome considering it was Labor Day weekend)

This review is for the diner portion of Donckers. My wife and I were in the area and decided to check our the diner portion of Donckers, as we've only ever gotten candy or chocolates (which are good). Seated and ordered quickly, server was kind, and the food didn't take too long to come out. I ordered an reuben and my wife got a portobello sandwich with mac and cheese. The reuben was good, and so was the mac and cheese, however the portobello sandwich was just okay. My biggest gripe about this place is the price for what you get. I felt the sandwiches were a bit small for the amount you pay (around $15). Also, the menu says you can pay a small charge for an upgraded side, but that doesn't seem to be the case for mac and cheese and you have to pay full price AND you don't get the original side? I wish it was clearer about how this worked.

The food was good, but nothing exceptional. It was fun to eat here - being downtown and really fun decor. Staff were very kind. Candy store was fun to look through.

Really enjoyed the farm to table concept, and we really enjoyed our lunch. Food had good visual appeal and excellent taste. We were glad we came at an off peak time as we were able to be immediately seated. We hit the candy counter on the way out. Will definitely return next time we are in town.

My review is only for the service. Labor day weekend 2024 they refused to serve us sitting OUTSIDE on the patio because we had our puppy. What are traveling people supposed to do with their pets when moving across country? You can't leave them in the hotel room when you go out for breakfast/lunch/dinner and you can't leave them in a hot car in the parking lot either.

This is a must see when in Marquette, but I would steer to just visiting the candy shop and ice cream downstairs. I've dined in for breakfast 2x now, and went back just to try and like it. I ordered a coffee, no flavor, very watered down. The Freighter breakfast sandwich was very bland. I added salt and pepper but still no flavor. I would say having a sauce added could help. The portion of the hash brown is small, again not much flavor at all. The service was okay. I wasn't greeted right away, and it wasn't busy. I was seated and was given a water. My waitress was a kind young lady, but was mostly an order taker with no interaction. I wasn't asked to refill my coffee till it was empty for a while. The restaurant is small but VERY cute. I love the different maps on the wall. I think the candy store downstairs is so iconic and everyone must purchase some chocolate.

We spent a night in Marquette before heading back to WI. The young receptionist at the hotel recommended this restaurant. Somehow we forgot to check the reviews since we were so hungry. We parked on the street and were seated immediately. There were candies and other merchandise after getting into the store. Ordered a steak quesadilla with a cup of tomato basil soup; hubby had a salad. This is our first time having a quesadilla without onions, very little cheese and the cheese aren't even all the way to the edge of the tortilla. Perhaps we are spoiled with Tex-Mex and forgot this place was in the Midwest. The salad was alright, nothing amazing. Service was ok, nothing amazing. Well, glad we had some food in our system.

Good place for breakfast. Food was good but not delicious. Prices are the same as other breakfast places around Marquette. It feels like you are in a 1950 restaurant.

Cutie patootie small lil place upstairs my friend and I ate at. I had the French toast and she had a burrito. My French toast was nice and moist with a clear flavor, accompanied by fresh maple syrup and butter. I also got the whipped cream and strawberries for extra on top. I also got an egg which does cost extra but it was perfectly cooked and tasted great with everything so I don't regret it. I will say the service was a tad slow but nothing detrimental . We got there mad early and we weren't the only ones so that's not a big issue for me. I could imagine the wait being quite long during a rush hour. So if you have some quality time and want a pretty view as you eat this is a great spot. Free wifi! But I don't feel too obligated to study up there. Mostly for eating and chatting

A fun place to dine. Had a great breakfast. And then enjoyed some chocolate. Would recommend making a stop.

I was greeted by a delightful young lady, Hannah (?) and her colleague , mikey (?) who were very knowledgeable and courteous. They took the time to explain the insane amounts of tea they had which was 160+ and everything else they sold. They weren't pushy and were just delightful like. They were thoughtful in their recommendations and I tried the earl grey which was just excellent. I also sampled their turmeric tea which was also very nice!! I most certainly will be back to buy some tea to take with me. They also sell tea forte tea and the usual tea accoutrements at competitive prices. Additionally do sell a large variety of spices, oils , balsamic vinegars, and even rice ! I may have counted ten different types on display itself. Lovely little spot and absolutely worth a visit when you are in the downtown area.

The chicken pastie was packed with a lot of potato and some ground chicken in between. Should be called a potato pastie. It was quite dry. The bottom of the pastie is super thick and quite dense. I gutted my out. It's dry and has zero flavor. Should have gotten some hot sauce, would be better with sriracha even. The apple pasty tasted like an apple pie. Has good flavor. Bottom of the pastie once again is dense and heavy. The tops are flat and boring. Flaky would make it better. But then again pasties are supposed to be filling and hardy, not flavorful or delectable, or?

A small little gift shop inside with a counter to order your food. There are multiple tables outside to sit and eat your pasties. The pasties were pre made and kept warm in an oven/heater and we received them immediately after ordering. Very friendly and fast service! Unfortunately the pasties did not live up to the hype for us. The insides were a mixture of the chosen meat with carrots and diced potatoes, but it was extremely dry and flavorless. The outside pastry was also very bland and very dry. We had some hot sauce which helps to make it a little less dry, but even the flavor of the hot sauce wasn't enough to help it. The one saving grace was the apple pie pasty! That was at-least packed with nice warm apple pie filling although the outer pastry was just as dry as the meat pasties. Perhaps we got a bad batch, or maybe this is how they are supposed to taste, but unfortunately I don't see the hype of the pasties!
