Downtown Marquette so parking may be a problem depending on time of year. If you can park by waterfront just a short hike up the street. Food prices were moderately high for portion with our dishes. This is also reflected on the menu with three category size ranges. We Questioned server about this and suggest you do also so your understanding plate portion. . I had the smash burger and the wife had the gold lentil Curry. When I have to pay 23.00 for a burger it better be good. With that, I have the give this an 8.5 out of 10. It was truly a very good burger with perfectly seasoned fries cooked to perfection. With reference to the wife's curry all I can say is nothing but positive adjectives to describe what she was eating finalizing with one of the top three Curry Dishes she has ever had. Ambiance was fine. Large Movie screen on wall. Interesting and fitting, you could say trendy. Nothing special, nothing lacking. Service was fine. Projector playing movies onto a huge paneled screen, great for their dinner and movie events for sure. Emma is waiting on us. She's friendly and attentive. The whole staff works together. Good about giving their customers the best service possible. Ordered the truffle fries, summer days, delft salad and Caesar salad aide, king trumpet daal bowl. $75.97 They do charge an operation fee, just call it what it really is, a CC fee. Don't like when businesses beat around the bush with passing down a CC fee. The delft side salad and Caesar both come with kale, this is not my favorite green, at all. Not fond of either salad so much, as a result of the prominence of kale. The truffle fries were soggy and wilted. Not the type of fries I prefer at all. The king trumpet daal was quite good, lots of flavor and a really nice kick to it. Goes down easily with or without the naan bread. The summer day drink was really citrusy and quite refreshing. Hit the spot. The beet, summer day mocktail and the king trumpet daal are well worth a try. read more

Cool ambiance. They had a movie playing on the big screen which was cool but no sound, so a little confusing. They also changed the channel at one point and something not kid friendly started to play. Luckily someone noticed and changed it back to the movie that was previously playing. Service is fast and friendly. Ok choices for wine/bubbles but it was a nice surprise to see the New Mexico bubbles on the menu. The curry was a nice surprise too. I asked for It extra spicy and it came out that way - yum! It's not authentic so don't knock points off for that, it was still extremely good. We loved this place so much we ate there twice on our vacation in Marquette! I've attached the menu because I'm not able to copy the individual items. We loved the Smoked Whitefish Puttanesca so much we had it both times we went. The mafaldine noodles in that were perfect for slurping up the delicious sauce! The second night we also enjoyed the Lamb Ragu and the Harvest Salad. I was thankful that they were willing to switch out the arugula for another lettuce for me in the salad as arugula isn't my jam. The first night we also had the Mushroom Pate, the Milk and Honey, the Caesar Salad and the Skillet Cookie. I would have loved to have had that Milk and Honey for dessert that second night as I'm still thinking about it even now, but we were too stuffed after the pastas to have any dessert the second night. Even though the restaurant didn't have a movie either night we were there, we enjoyed the experience. I loved that the interior had exposed brick. The Delft Bistro is a fun, repurposed theater turned restaurant. They were playing Balto since it was the Keene d of the UP200 dog sled race. So fun! We ate upstairs and enjoyed chatting and watching the movie. I had the braised beef poutine. I love poutine and order it anytime I see it on the menu. It was a bit light on the gravy so I asked for an extra side which made it perfect. It was warm, filling and delicious. We also split a hazelnut crème brûlée that was so lovely and sweet. Love the first crack through the layer of caramelized sugar! Great location, great ambiance, what a delightful place to spend an evening. read more

I visited twice during my time in Marquette. First, I went for breakfast and ordered a bloody mary and the tofu scramble. The bloody mary was really good! I had high hopes for the tofu scramble. Honestly, I was impressed they had it! They have quite a few vegan options on their menus. The tofu scramble was not that good though. I was surprised to see sliced carrots in the scramble - a lot of them. There was also kale and I think mushrooms as well. I felt like there was only 1/16th of a block of tofu in this scramble. They plate it so it looks like there's a lot, but it's just the top layer. Tofu is the cheapest protein so I'm not sure why they're stingy on the amount in the dish. The carrots did not make sense and there was way too many. The tofu scramble was seemingly unseasoned. The kale wasn't the right leafy green for this scramble either. It wasn't massaged or softened much, so it was not enjoyable to eat. The hot sauce gave the dish more flavor. I do feel like they put a lot of thought and effort into their vegan dishes, but the tofu scramble needs to be reworked. I came back for dinner later in my trip, and it was much better. We ordered the falafel bites, harvest salad, and romesco pasta to share. Everything was incredible. If anything, the sauce that came with the falafel was too sweet and not really a sauce for falafel. The hummus was awful and the service even worse. the hummus was extremely lemony in a way that made me think the batch had to be messed up and it wasn't normally served like that. i told the wait staff so they could inform the kitchen, but the server did not care at all. there was no apology or inquiry to the kitchen. they just handed me the bill without asking if i wanted anything else, even though i barely ate. i would've ordered more, but i felt unwelcome and left hungry to go to a different restaurant. it was such a weird experience and makes me not want to go back. i do appreciate that the vegan options are clearly labeled. also the cocktail i ordered was great, even though i had to order it through someone that wasn't my server because my server was not attentive. read more

My new Marquette favorite!!! This was probably the first restaurant I've visited in the UP and felt totally welcomed. The staff is diverse and so is the menu. It's a chill environment and it looks Like a vintage movie theater on the outside. My food was delicious. I was hungry, that's a fact and I promise I did actually taste the food and not just inhale it. I also had wine with my meal and it was great as well. Best meal in Marquette!! We ate here on a Saturday night and the place was hopping. Here here is what we got. We started with a appetizer of milk and honey, which was fantastic. I even got the gluten-free bread and that was fantastic too with the milk and honey. I also liked the bourbon bacon glazed scallops for an appetizer. WFor the main course, my wife got a pasta dish with lamb, which was incredible and I got the the ribs which were great as well. I can't tell you enough how good these ribs were. They even had a little heat on them. The inside had a cool vibe as well. When I am back in Marquette, I will be coming here again. read more

Great theme. Dinner and a movie in a former theater. A movie plays on the big screen while you eat. The movies are all ones we know. so you don't really need the sound. if you really want to follow the show, you'll need to read the subtitles. I ordered the ribs and the didn't love them. although the plate presentation. was great, I thought the ribs were a little dry and the brussel sprouts were crispy overdone. I also had soup, it was beef vegetable, which was salty, heavy on broth, light on beef and veggies. My waitress was unfortunately spread very thin with multiple tables and a group of people in a meeting room. Never got a drink refill, and had to wait a long time to get and pay my bill. I'm a little confused with the inconsistency of messaging. This has been one of my favorite spots to visit when I come up North each summer. We loved that we have a dog friendly spot to bring our pup. Unfortunately, things must have changed. We were bummed out that we couldn't bring my out of town friend to check out this spot too. My friend and I were greeted by the hostess. I let her know we were looking for a table for 3 adults and 1 dog. She let me know that dogs were not allowed even on the patio. I asked if we could sit outside of the patio at the high top tables, but I was told no. I have read other reviews about the restaurant changing their policy but still allowing dogs outside of the sectioned off patio sitting. Fortunately, there are dog friendly restaurants in Marquette that allow dogs on the patio. Not sure about the variation between local restaurants, but I have been able to take my pup to other local downtown restaurants. Come for the food and the chill vibe, just don't bring your pup. Really loved the ambiance. Cool that it is inside an old theater. My kids liked it too because they had a kids menu. I tried the whitefish which was in a red marinara type sauce. I did not like it much. Felt like the flavors did not mix well with whitefish. Would definitely come back here again though and try something else in the menu. I don't remember the service that well. The Delft Bistro is so charming! I love the ambiance and the restaurant looks classy. It's nestled downtown, and I love the old theater sign. We were in town visiting with family and stopped by for brunch over the weekend. They have a great cocktail menu and even have options for brunch. Husband and I had our anniversary dinner here. We've eaten here many times before and have always enjoyed. Unfortunately I think the switch to GF breading on the curds doesn't quite translate. I understand the ability to offer GF to individuals with intolerance is fantastic but I won't be ordering again. Texture was off, not as light or pillowy as before. It also tasted like the same breading on the chicken in my piccata, which I also didn't enjoy. My bucatini was undercooked, and the pasta itself lacked the flavor I SO enjoyed with the shrimp piccata previously on the menu. Packed most of it up to cook and add lemon juice at home. To top it off, my husband found a hair in his $42 steak frites. Our server was very sweet and apologetic but we were offered no compensation otherwise, and I'm not in the business of arguing or looking for a handout....so my husband continued to eat it bless his heart. We've loved this restaurant in the past and enjoy the atmosphere, but unfortunately it won't be a usual consideration for us any longer. read more

This is our second Sunday in a row, and Freddy has been nothing short of amazing both times. He's kind, attentive, and incredibly thoughtful always remembering the little things like splitting our Delft Hash without us even having to ask. Beyond great service, he brings so much warmth and humor to the table. He makes us laugh every time, and you can just tell he genuinely cares about his guests. The workers were all very friendly. Everyone was caring to the customers and very attentive. The vibes were awesome, industrial old school movie theatre, perfect lighting, and an awesome menu. The bone marrow was not a bold flavor, and the sauce paired with it almost washes out the flavor of the marrow. The calamari had great flavor, and the sauces paired well with it. The burger was excellent, more of a "less is more" flavor profile. The salmon was cooked perfectly. The dessert tasted almost burnt or over baked. There was an interesting after flavor. Great atmosphere and food. They were low on staff, and only bar seats were available for people without reservation. We got the ribs and gnocchi. I would prefer the mushroom risotto, but they ran out of the ingredients. The ribs are uniquely falvored and the brussel sprouts are decently done too. The gnocchi is great too. The protion is on the smaller end though. The cheese curd was wonderful with the sauce. Overall, we enjoyed this place and would recommend if you are for modern and hip food. read more

Not a great experience eating here for the first time in a few years- out of town visitors to the area. The positive was the absolutely incredible mimosas. What wasn't incredible was the meal. Why are they putting arugula on pancakes? The chicken was nearly burnt and dry. The Benedict tasted like pure lemon juice, had one tiny piece of toast cut into two, maybe one piece of bacon between the two of them, and no sides for $20. The waitstaff was excellent, though. The restaurant was modern. Chairs were not comfortable. Probably won't go back-disappointed at the quality of our meal. read more

We've always enjoyed the Delft. But now, with the new menu, I had to write a review about how absolutely awesome it is. We've been for lunch twice since the menu change. We had the milk and honey appetizer both times. So good. We had four different entrees...all good. But tonight we tried the dinner. We started out with the ribs. Good. For our entrees, my husband got the lamb ragu. Really good. And I had the king trumpet daal. I have to say that it was to die for. The waiter said that it was "really tasty". Even though we didn't have a reseravtion and the place was packed we got seated on the second floor after a very short wait. The food was delicious and service was efficient, friendly, and attentive. Cheese curds appetizer was so good that we ordered one more. Burrata was worth doing the same, but we had to save the room for entrees :) And entrees were very good! The restaurant is located in a historic building of a former theater and has a nice interior. Appetizers: Cheese curds - can't stop on these! Burrata - absolutely delicious taste created by nicely chosen set of ingredients Portabella Salad - very good Mains - all great! : Caprese Melt Duck Steak Frites Pesto Pappardelle Pesto Pappardelle with Salmon There were a couple of things that could be improved: Brussels Sprouts side was somewhat over-fried Duck entree could have a bit more duck. 4 out 5-6 pieces of duck it had had a very tough not chewable part on one side. It's understood it could be such a part of duck :) but then add few more pieces... Portabella Salad - I don't see how bacon fits into this otherwise great salad. My friends and I came for cocktails and we left happy! We only had time for a couple quick drinks before a dinner reservation at Steinhaus last fall, but we loved hanging out at the Delft. The old theatre vibe is cool and it was fun to catch a bit of a movie on the big screen from where we were seated upstairs. The cocktail menu is nicely curated and arranged by spirit. I started with the hibiscus mint margarita: El Jimador tequila, Cointreau, hibiscus simple, mint, lemon, lime. It was slightly sweet and tasty! Nate got the ginger old fashioned: Four Roses bourbon, ginger syrup, orange bitters, candied ginger. It was nice and smooth but I was hoping for a more pronounced ginger flavor (I love ginger!). Taylor, our server/bartender, was awesome! I'd love to visit again and try some more drinks - the dew drop, chiquita, and roulette all sound amazing too. And the food! Tried this place for dinner tonight and we were pleasantly surprised! We both got burgers - me the Founders I think it was called and my husband got the mushroom and Swiss. We both thoroughly enjoyed them! He subbed for cheese curds, which were solid. I rarely like them from restaurants bc none compare to the MN state fair... but these were good. Could be crispier but that's my only critique. I got the loaded brussels, which were good. I got no cheese on them but the toppings were good. They weren't quite cooked as well as I've had other places but still good and I loved that you could sub them in! Great drink selection as well and a dog-friendly patio. Super happy! Would come back - especially after Iron Bay called us five mins before our reservation to tell us they didn't have an outdoor table for our dog, as requested five days in advance and then tried to make us wait forty mins for an outdoor table. We stopped through here on the way back from vacationing in the Keewenaw, and were told there was a 20 minute wait while they switched from brunch menu to lunch/dinner. We obliged, but I thought it was odd that brunch said it went until 2pm and it was 1:30 by the time we got there. I was really interested in what was on the brunch menu, so I was disappointed in the change. The building and history were really cool, it's an old theatre and they were playing Avengers: Infinity War on the screen but with no sound. Kind of a cool way to blend dinner (or lunch) and a movie, but it would have been nice to at least have some sound or captions in case you wanted to watch. It seemed more of a background distraction. Service was incredibly slow and it seemed like there were a lot of servers just standing around. My meal was cold when it got to the table because it sat in the window for a while. It was remade, but the stuff underneath the duck was still cold. Carrots were piping hot and the meat was somewhere in the middle because overcooking duck makes it rubbery. The flavors were good and the duck was perfect, but the imbalance of temperatures was a little off-putting. Might give it another shot when we visit again, but would like to try other Marquette hotspots next time. read more

Dog friendly, so that's a big bonus with us. Like most dog friendly places in Marquette, the patio is really small. They have local craft beers and pretty good food. We went twice. The first time I ordered a wheat beer and was brought a sour, but they corrected that. I had the foghorn chicken sandwich, it was decent but a bit dry, fried perhaps too long. The second time I got a steak tip sandwich. The combo of chimchiri and horseradish mustard...was ok, but maybe stick with one or the other. The combo of the two was a bit much. Service was good and it's nice to people watch. read more
