This place has its charms to be sure. We ordered two nice plates and the cheapest bottle of Cab and enjoyed all. The young lady who seated us and the young man making the plates were delightful. The middle aged woman running the bar who (after a huge sigh) waited on our table was just not pleasant. Like we were a real bother. Two young ladies who came in to the bar after were known to her and treated to smiles and chit chat. We got the heavy sighs and poor service. She was running the show so that's a red flag for me. Pro tip: if you have a restaurant and get afternoon son, wash the damn windows. Second pro tip: if you run a wine bar, you're gonna need to keep on top of the fruit flies. read more

I looooove this place! Everything was so perfect! Sitting on the patio with a Venetian Spritz and a charcuterie slate felt like a week-long European vacation crammed into a lovely hourish. The charcuterie was fabulous, the Raclette was amazing (go on a Sunday/Tuesday when they have it!), the duck duck beet was maybe the best salad I've ever had (?!), and the burrata taught me that I haven't given an appropriate amount of gratitude to really good olive oil so far in my life. But yeah. Just. So. Perfect. We literally all high-fived when we were done over how successful it felt as a meal lol... Makes me wish I still lived in Marquette! read more

Great spot in Marquette! I usually always come here when up in the UP during the summer. A great more upscale spot for a drink inside or outside. This place is more for wine drinkers, but they have plenty of beers and craft cocktails to choose from. My favorite every time is their Whiskey Sour-- so damn good. They could put a bit more effort into the food selection but I'm not really complaining as I usually just come to drink. This time I tried the JK's cider and some appetizers and was pleasantly surprised. This 6.0% cider tasted exactly the same as apple juice, dangerous. The food was tasty, although small, great for an appetizer before going somewhere else for dinner. Hope this place continues to do well, I recommend trying it out if you haven't! read more

Food was super tasty and light, just what we were looking for. Loved the drinks we had, I particularly loved that there is a page in the menu with under $10 glasses of all the wines. We sat outside on the patio, it was such a nice ambiance. The service was great & we loved how fast paying was with the tablet. We stopped at Zephyr's bar before our dinner reservations at another location. Based on the Yelp reviews, we were excited to give it a try. It was a most interesting evening. Due to Covid, many things were challenging for the bar, especially seating and the management of people. It was going to rain and that threw a wrench in the program from management. They were unsure where to seat people and some even walked out. Luckily for us, we were super flexible and my friend is always the calm one! He just goes with the flow; I've learned a lot from him. That being said, we were seated in an awesome spot. The deocor is quite modern and chic. We were seated in a couch/table combination and we ended up being super cozy on the couch. We enjoyed a few cocktails and he ordered a fantastic charcuterie board for us with meat, cheese and all the yummies. It was fantastic! He knows me well....give me some meat, feed me some cheese, and make sure my wine glass is full= one happy date! This is a very cool spot to try if you are in the area. read more

Had an amazing time there with the staff the gals were super friendly and cute and the boys were definitely eye candy, I may have heard something about a possible gay night on Tuesdays from the GM Marcy so I hope that works out well for the local LGBTQ+ community here, as she seems like she puts actions behind words from watching her work. Always enjoy Zephyr Bar when visiting Marquette. Lively and quaint, this bar or "social gathering house" has that warm inviting vibe. After dinner we always come here for a nightcap and dessert. The wine and cocktail menu is extensive and they often have a dessert you've never had before. On this visit my wife and I each had a Irish Coffee, made just right! We shared a piece of the homemade Hummingbird Cake, like a carrot cake but with a twist, absolutely to die for! I'd give it 5 stars but on 9/27 we sat outside and our server, who was busy, I think forgot about us and we had to go inside to pay our tab. Our next visit we'll enjoy more substantial fare as everything looks so delicious. read more

I visit Marquette on occasion and it is really cool to see places like this pop up. However, I think this restaurant needs a little bit of work before it is genuinely amazing. Or maybe I just went on an off day. I went in during a Saturday afternoon and they did not seem to be even half full but the manager seemed a bit flustered. Not in an unpleasant way, but maybe in the way one would be flustered after a busy morning. I ordered a sandwich (the toasted prosciutto sandwich with raclette, mustard and onion-fig compote) and a snappy salad (brussels, kale, feta, lemon vinagrette) only to be informed that they sold out of the salad. I do not recall being offered a different side, which I thought was a little weird. The sandwich was fine. The compote was sweet and rich but the prosciutto wasn't toasted as promised. And the raclette was either so thin I couldn't notice it or it was not on the sandwich. I am going to choose to believe that the missteps were a result of an insane morning. I would try this place again but would probably stick to a cocktail or two. The cocktails were solid, but it doesn't take a master bartender to make a gin and tonic. read more

After dinner we decided to walk to the water and saw this outdoor patio. So when we walked back up, we decided to stop in for a drink. The inside is modern and sophisticated. Not cluttered but really showcases the wines. Outside there's a great little patio with awesome chairs. The only thing it was missing was some soft music. We tried two of the port wines and a dessert wine- and all were delicious. Our server Marcella was super knowledgeable on all the wine selections and made great suggestions for us. We were disappointed we were so full from dinner- we weren't able to sample any of their small plates - they all sounded delicious! The cheese selection looked amazing. An absolute MUST-STOP every time I'm in Marquette! This place is amazing. I asked for a recommendation on wine because I'm really up for anything, and it paid off! My wine was so good I took a picture of the bottle so I can find it at home (I'm in luck- I can get it at Plum Market in Ann Arbor!). The way to do Zephyr best is to come with a small group of about four people. That way you can do the small plates right and order a bunch of stuff and share. I absolutely love stopping into Zephyr whenever I'm back in town! I've now been twice and each time I've been very impressed. The selection of wine is bday without being overwhelming (especially for those that don't normally drink wine)! For those who don't drink wine don't work! Zephyr Bar is a world class wine bar with energetic, friendly and knowledgable waitstaff who could give any big city sommelier a run for their money. I learned about totally new wine styles and pairings that I enjoyed greatly. Plus, who can resist a huge wine selection with U.P. prices? The atmosphere is hip and inviting with open spaces, soft lighting and comfortable tables. It is a perfect place to hang out with long lost friends or brand new ones. i can not give this place enough credit. Amazing wine selection, cocktails, liquors, you name it they got it and some really hard to find stuff. One of the best cheese boards i have ever had, we had the waitress right down some of the cheese names so we could try to find them later they were so good. Honestly everything on the menu is good its all quality stuff so pick out anything and have it. Very small place so limited seating make sure to have a reservation especially during Covid. They made the best of a bad situation and provided us with a lovely plate of salami and cheese with olives and nuts. They went out of their way to find a red wine that I am particularly fond of. I know this place just opened up, as far as I know it's the first straight up wine bar in Marquette, they had several pages of red and white wine to drink, ranging from low to high cost, plus a few beers as well. They had some small plates/apps too, we got the casilli and the meat n cheese board. I forget the names of the wines I got, but they were all good. The servers were all very nice, and they had free live music from a 2 man band. Overall a very pleasant experience and a welcome addition to complement all the bars and breweries. read more
