I came here as part of a party of five. We didn't have a reservation, but we were able to be seated quickly. Thank goodness for that, because it got REALLY busy after we were seated. You should definitely make a reservation if you have a party larger than two. The menu is pretty simple. I got a pesto pasta dish. It was very good. It was the right sized portion to be filling but not to make you overly full. The house salad was just ok. I liked the rolls they served and wished we could have gotten more of them! They came out minutes before our entrées, probably because of how busy it was. They definitely need more servers in my opinion. read more

Ok edited version the food was the issue it lacked flavor so don't know what Gordon Ramsey saw in it was pumped to try but it lacked, The veggies were to salty and over cooked, the table was dirty. The waitress did the best she could as she waited on 6 tables and answered phone by herself. Order was not correct but may be on me as well. For $105 it could have been better. Italian sausage rigatoni was amazing! A sweet tasting sauce with perfectly prepared pasta. The tomato basil soup was a great way to start the meal. However, the creamy garlic sauce on my wife's ravioli was the star of the show. I'd eat that sauce on a piece of cardboard if necessary. Absolutely outstanding is the best way I can describe this place. CALL AHEAD AND MAKE A RESERVATION!! We've been coming to Hancock for several years and have made an attempt to eat here several times with no luck. After eating here now I know why they accept and encourage reservations. The Million Dollar Brussels were sliced very thin and grilled, served with mint, honey, lemon zest, Fuji apple slices, crushed almonds and drizzled with balsamic reduction. There were so many flavors and it was perfect. It was so great I can't wait to have it again. The Fried Mozza is a favorite amongst our entire table, especially our daughter. They take fresh sliced mozzarella, lightly batter and fry it and serve it with homemade marinara sauce. Salad choices are great, garden, Caesar and one other I forgot. All of their dressings are made in house (killer ranch if you're curious). Tomato Basil soup is always a soup option and it's not what I had expected but its great. It's not a thick creamy soup, it's thinner and sort of transparent. I really loved it. We also tried a Margarita Pizza which was tasty. It was also not what we had expected but it was very good. My entree was Chicken Parmasen and I was very impressed. The chicken was cooked perfectly, came with Alfredo, brussels and bacon and a warm roll. Yum! The Italian Sausage Rigatoni is another wonderful choice. Pasta was cooked al dente, the sauce was fantastic and sausage was very good. A very well prepared and filling meal. The Chicken Marsala was another hit at our table. If you ever have to wait to get in, DO IT! You will not be disappointed. A cozy spot that seems to be well known by the locals. I had the Garlic/Shrimp Linguini which was very good and my husband had the Italian Sausage and Rigatoni which was also quite tasty. In town taking my son to college we decided to go here for dinner based on reviews. I ordered the cannelloni and didn't not like it one bit, I took less than 2 bites of it. The sauce was sweet and the beef filling was dry. I was told because it was a personal taste thing that it could not be taken off our bill. I was then offered something else but that I would have to pay for that as well. Never in my nearly 50 yrs on this planet have I ever been to a place that does this. I mean seriously get me something else I probably wont like so you can charge me for that too? My son ordered the pork tenderloin, ordered medium, it was brown all the way through and the carbonara that comes with it only taste of garlic. The service should have been better since there was plenty of staff for the size but refills were slow and there were not "check ins" other than ordering and then delivering food. The largest table is really set up for 4 people and there are not too many of those. The rest room reminded me of an airplane lavatory. Don't underestimate this place. Doesn't look like much from the outside but once you sit down, you will see that it's a very well run restaurant. Great servers, good choice of meals, and they have Italian soda (which I had never had before, it was delicious). My personal favorite thing about this restaurant however is that fact that the light switch for the only bathroom there, a single person unisex bathroom, is on the outside of the bathroom. I cannot tell you how hard I laughed when my buddy went to use the restroom and one of my friends flicked off the light. I highly recommend this restaurant and hopefully someone will get as much of a kick as we did making their friend poop in the dark. read more

I have been going to Gemignani's since I was a child and have always loved it, I'm from out of state but have family in the area and so I have had eaten good Italian elsewhere, however to this day Gemignani's is my favorite Italian restaurant. Last year me and my family as well as four friends that I brought from out of state ate here and we all loved it. Most of them got chicken alfredo or chicken parm and they all said it was amazing. A lot of us got Italian sodas which were fun and tasted good. Overall we all had a good time and service was very nice and attentive. Granted, being a poor college student when I lived in Hancock, I didn't visit very often as its expensive as hell for a tiny portion ($9 for 7 bitty raviolis), but now that I'm gone I truly miss it. You can't go wrong with the vegetable ravioli smothered in alfredo sauce. And the Italian sodas are pretty good. This place is tiny (probably one of the smallest restaurants I've ever visited), so if you're planning on bringing a group you'd better make reservations. read more

Excellent brunch here on Sundays! I got the strawberry crepes. The crepes were crispy and light, filled with juicy strawberries and the sweetest cream cheese sauce. Wine menu was undergoing renovations while we were there, so didn't get to glimpse that but the few cabs I sampled were solid.
