The pizza is a solid 9.0. The menu has pizza, sandwiches, melts, wings, and more. It seemed to be reasonably priced and a great value. Fast friendly service. Keep up the good work Jimmy !

It was going on 8:30 pm and we weren't hungry yet as we were traveling and started out with a late. Breakfast and lunch. We took off from our hotel (AmericInn) to try to watch the sunset. We thought we would get a pizza to take to our room to eat when we got hungry. The pizzas are cheap. We bought the Jim's Special in a super large size ( they had one size bigger) and it was under $20. This pizza could have fed a family of six. It had a lot of melty gooey cheese on it. Usually this much cheese on a pizza is something we would ask and pay extra for. On a scale of 5 we give it a 3. It tastes good but personally I would have liked a better crust-maybe a tad crispier. But for the price and fast, friendly service I would go back again.

    Oh, boy - REAL pasties!!

I can't speak to the pizzas, but we had great pasties at Jim's. That was on Monday, June 21st, 2010. It happened by accident. We actually wanted to have lunch at Michigan House Cafe & Brewpub. But we could not even get seated there, so we left and walked around for a place for lunch. We stumbled onto to Jim's Pizza. Turns out on Monday the lunch special is (or was) pasties. We orded two to go and browsed the book shelves while we waited. We got our order and then headed out to find a place to have lunch. We found a county park at Eagle River right on the water. When we opened up the box to eat - WOW! Now these pasties were the real deal! Big, flaky crust and stuffed full. Here is a photo of our tasty lunch. http://epicroadtrips.us/2010/mich-ont/d11/#photo0000021.jpg The bill for the two big pasties? $9.76 ! WV-Mike www.EpicRoadTrips.us

Been going here for years, never a bad meal. Burgers, pizza, sandwiches all very good. You must try the onion rings.

Jim's pizza is so good. For me it's the best pizza ever. I'm a big fan of hamburger pepperoni and onions. I like the thin crust best.

Underwhelmed by the food--pasty tasted frozen and reheated. Excellent service, though.

The Hut - A Gem in the Keweenaw!…read more The Hut is a very unique experience, and we were thrilled to stumble upon it--especially since dining options in the area are a bit limited. From the moment we walked in, we were struck by the quirky decor that ties into the Keweenaw's mining history. It's charming, memorable, and adds a special local touch you don't often find. My wife was on the hunt for some Lake Superior whitefish, and The Hut *delivered*. She went with the broiled preparation and couldn't stop raving about it--flaky, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. I opted for a patty melt and was equally impressed. The marble rye was perfectly toasted, and the flavors were spot on. Service was decent overall. Our server did forget my tea, which was a minor hiccup, but honestly, it didn't detract much from the experience. The quality of the food and the one-of-a-kind atmosphere more than made up for it. If you're in the Keweenaw and looking for a satisfying meal with some local character, The Hut is definitely worth a stop.

Days of travel; each breath that exited our gelid nostrils could likely be our last. And there she stood. A divine messenger, luminous in the dismal twilight. Her name.....was Carmelita. Of our band of nomadic travelers, Father Rose was the worst off. His life nearly lost from the blistering hypothermia. Doctors from Grand Rapids later confirmed his saving grace. One word: Thimbleberry. The hostesses assisted us in changing out of our twisted, ragged robes. With fresh blankets, they wrapped us tightly. In the kitchen, retired Michelin chefs performed a similar action, wrapping world famous wet burritos. The aroma of freshly sliced vegetables, carne asada seared golden, filled the impeccable cookhouse. The dancing flames of the fireplace lies in the heart of Carmelita. Her warm breath nursing our bodies back to life. Crackling pine, a line of rosy sparks travels upward. We watch the show as we pack our growling bellies. Fajitas and quesadillas so exquisite, each bite began to mend the void deep inside our hearts. The caretakers offered us lodging, but we felt we mustn't overstay our welcome. Oh Carmelita, keeper of the flame. We will return, though the snows swallow the roads and the winds forget our names.
