My husband and I were visting the area for our anniversary vacation. There was this huge Bridge Fest parade going on that ended pretty late at about 9pm. Unfortunately, the roads were blocked off and closed. So we could not go to a number of restaurants reccomended to us. There were a few options open until 10, Nutini being one of them. We walked in and sat down at a table. There wrre a bunch of people near the bar having a great time. The music was faced towards us, so it was pretty loud in that spot. The waitress came over and stated that it was very loud. She asked if we wanted to move to a different area and walked us over to a seat. We got seated and she ran to get the drinks. The table was slanted, but the area was completely empty and quiet. When I asked her about items on the menu, she did not seem to know any information. I asked for caesar dressing, she told me she didn't think they had that, even though caesar salad was listed on the menu. She had to run back and ask about a few things, which was fine. My husband ordered the chimichanga and regretted it. It came out loaded with practically a whole salad covering it. Tons of lettuce and tomatoes on top. I had a salad that was loaded with dressing. I tried my best to eat it, and it was very salty. We only had a lunchable at 12pm so we were starving. My alfredo came put with some of it practically spilling out on the sides. I took one bite and it was loaded with garlic. It was so powerful, that it was hurting the back of my throat. I let the waitress know that I have a mild allergy when a lot of garlic is used. Usually, if there is a tiny minced amount it doesn't bother me. This pasta, was loaded with a lot of garlic and salt. I nicely asked told her that I could not eat it because of this. While we were waiting, they also forgot to bring out the beans and rice, and the bread with butter. We had to mention it and they said "I'm not sure if that comes with it." This is the worst part... in the photos there is a picture of a yellow hallway. Suddenly an old man walks around the corner and is loudly making fun of me. There was no one else in that room and no music. He looked at me as well. He said "ofcourse there is a lot of garlic its alfredo is she stupid or something, thats hilarious." I suddenly felt uneasy, and I tried to just ignore it. In the photo you can also see a small window area where food is picked up. Our waitress, who we haven't seen, only when I called her over, was standing there talking about us. We could hear the entire conversation because she was loudly telling them. She was saying "oh my gosh you didnt hear the whole ordeal, basically this chick orders the alfredo and didnt realize we put a lot of garlic when its alfredo" and they continued to just laugh at me and talk about it. Another waitress, the one that brought the food out in the first place, came to bring the bread. My husband asked for the bill and told her we no longer wanted to stay. This experience was so awful that I started crying. It ruined out anniversary dinner. I felt so embarrassed. She was nice enough to ask us what happened. She was trying to figure out what went wrong. We only saw our waitress when she moved us, and came to give drinks and take the order. While she was trying to talk to us, our waitress walked up to her. She started saying how she only charged us for the salad. The waitress trying to talk to her, kindly told her to walk away as it was making the situation worse. We asked for the bill, and she told us that it was covered and she did apologize. Even with the apology, it was such a horrible and awful experience that really dampered the evening. This review is only for the food, not the bar. Although Nutini's is open for lunch, they apparently don't expect people to actually show up for it. The staff was obviously upset that they had to stop talking to their friends to serve us. Not only were they unfriendly, it took over half an hour for our sandwiches to arrive (we were the only customers in the restaurant). The food was ok. I've had friends who go to Nutini's several times a week for drinks and they love it. I'm not going back to try, though. read more

This place is authentic, in that there isn't a bit of pretentiousness to be found. Dave, the owner, is almost always there serving customers or cooking. The food is basic and honest general American small town restaurant fare. Pizza is well above average. The food and drinks are honest and prices are low. I have eaten there many times and always been treated with respect, warmth, and care. The decor is old and dark and I wish I could see what new business a face-lift could bring to the place. But, to keep the prices low and the place nice and private for a confidential lunch meeting, or a group that wants to hang out for dinner without feeling rushed, this place is the best. read more

We went on a Saturday night because it was close to hotel and we had to walk. The place was empty at 8PM. Bartender was nice, but informed us they were out of soup and well as 4 other menu items. I ordered butterfly shrimp off the menu. I got 6 of them and ate 2 - not good. The rest of the group had ok meals. Maybe we should have had pizza.... read more

I love Nutini's but it's not for everyone. It's a quieter dive bar that's a great place to catch the game and chew the fat. The pizza is good - try the sourdough crust. However, if you're looking for a classy or lively place you may want to look elsewhere. read more

The food at Nutuni's is awesome. Whenever we come to the Houghton/Hancock area, we love to come to Nutuni's. We have always had great service. The potato feta pizza is the best. Pasta dishes are also great. The last time, the special was California club pizza, which was also outstanding. The decor is old but we don't care because the food, drinks and service are great and the prices are very reasonable. Where else can you get a gin and tonic for about $2.75? Love it! read more

A coworker and I from Chicago were here to do some overnight work in the area for a couple days, we had to sleep during the daytime and the staff and the owner here were nice enough to welcome us in to get some food after their kitchen had already closed! As I said we are from Chicago(pizza capital) so the owner himself made us a couple pizzas and it was literally the best brick oven pizza we've had! I'm from the area and I never really feel comfortable at Nutinis. The place has a sort of run-down dirty dive-bar feel to it....but not in a cool way. I'm talking about a dirty bathroom sort of feel to the place (if that makes any sense). The staff (which is usually just one bartender) usually seems more interested in talking to the "regulars" than helping other customers. And there always seems to be a few creepy people hanging out. One thing too that kills me is that their drinks are WAY overpriced--usually 3.00 for a draft of Miller Lite and 3.50 a bottle. This might not sound bad, but for the Houghton/Hancock area--its about a $1.00 more than average. Strangely, the one redeeming thing is that they actually have an amazing Potato and Feta pizza--which is almost worth dealing with the unwelcoming atmosphere and overpriced drinks for. read more
