Fantastic place to visit during our Boho trip. Loved the ambience, atmosphere and pizza! Will return!

We are seriously cosidering sending this restaurant a bill for our valuable vacation time I thought we hit the jackpot for dinner after a long drive. The place looked inviting, and authentic, and the person working at the register in the bar area was friendly and helpful. But... much to our chagrin, the place was noisy, the food was awful, and the service worse. We order the stuffed portabella mushroom and the grill chicken with Michigan cherries chutney. The mushroom was blah - tasteless. The chicken tasted like airplane food, served with 6 super thin overcooked lame, pathetic, and meager asparagus spears, and an extra side of frozen veggies which were uncooked and blase - no kidding peppers were warm, and broccoli florets super cold. Adding insult to injury, Patty, our server was awful. She was not attentive, served our appetizer and disappeared for over 15 minutes without taking the rest of our order. She forgot the garlic bread that came with the main meal and she Literally threw the two plates with the chicken on our table. Oh, and the Old Fashioned was super sweet and super red, my guess they added grenadine yikes! Out of my over 400 reviews I had never written such negative one. Really disappointing. Are here a year ago and it was good. This time, so early August, poor service, burnt and cold food and a long wait. No trout (rest of fish is frozen), so a hamburger. It came overdone and cold. French fries cold and oily. Waitress was unimpressed. read more

Stopped in for an afternoon snack. Quickly greeted and sat at a table near the window. Ordered two drinks and an order of potato skins (they were amazing!!!) Cute rustic stop with lots of character! definitely recommend!! read more

Love the decor and its very clean our server Linda was so great! Checked in on us often. Our food was wonderful ! Celebrated our 42nd anniversary there and glad we did. One thing we miss about our old home state is the places to eat out. This place is on The top of our list! Oh and don't be fooled by the reasonable menu prices. You get way more for your $$$! I want to RAVE about this restaurant!!! I cannot believe I found this gem while snowmobiling the upper peninsula. I was able to get a salmon burger on a gluten free bun AND a both dairy and gluten free brownie for dessert!!! As a dairy and gluten free individual I was SO grateful for the opportunity to have not only a filling meal but dessert! That's a rarity and truly a treat. It was a friendly small town experience. It was so good we ended up going back our second night and felt part of the crowd. We had dinner at the bar. Room was very clean, but the bed was one of the worst I have ever slept on, was told that the bed was comparable to a Tempurpedic, was a spring mattress that was compressed in places( slept poorly and woke every morning with a back ache). Ate at the restaurant once, burger was good but the side of fries consisted of about 14 fries (wouldn't have been a problem except the 14 that I had were REALLY good). Wasn't anything to do in Eagle Harbor so found myself driving every day to Copper Harbor, would have been better to stay in Copper Harbor and day trip to Eagle Harbor. read more

Absolutely fantastic! The staff is gracious and accommodating. The atmosphere it nice with wood booths & tables. The food, burgers, whitefish, and pasta were all excellent (bonus, they make their own pesto!). Our kids aged 11-16 loved their dishes. And our daughter commented that she had never liked an olive before she had one here :-). We highly recommend this place! read more

I was staying down the road from this place in mid-Sept. After a long day, this was the only place within a short driving distance where I could get dinner. I didn't expect much because they had no competition, but I ordered the Lake Trout Sandwich with sautéed mushrooms - first off, it was cooked and ready in under 10 minutes, but also, it was the best fish sandwich of my life! I couldn't get over how good it was, I ended up going back to get it again twice, breaking my cardinal rule of never eating in the same restaurant twice on vacation. I fully recommend Eagle Harbor for food, and if I'm back in the area again, first stop will be for a fish sandwich from Eagle Harbor Inn. read more

This cozy little bar and grill is worth a stop for lunch if you're taking the scenic route from Houghton to Copper Harbor. There's a main dining area to the left when you walk in, or you can hang out at the bar to the back right. Some of the tables in the bar area are decorated with maps of Lake Superior that you can study while you're waiting for your food. For a taste of the Great Lakes, try the grilled trout sandwich with sweet potato fries. The trout was fresh, moist, nicely charred and served with some green leaf lettuce. Don't even think of dousing it with the tartar sauce that's served on the side - this sandwich has plenty of flavor to stand on its own. The sweet potato fries, like the trout, were perfectly done - nice and crispy, but not dried out. If fish is not your fancy, the menu also had several burgers that looked tempting. The bar has several beers from the local Keewenaw Brewing Company - "KBC" on the beer menu. They're all canned - so if you're a bottle snob, you might want to try something else. My favorite was the November Gale Pale Ale. The Old Ore Dock Scotch Ale was okay. There are several other varieties if you want to try one of the local favorites. read more

For six years I had been driving past this place and never once thought to stop in. I got the ribs and was pleased. The meat fell right off the bone and had a lot off flavor. I got the small version and wish I had gotten the larger one. My kids ate most of their meals (apple sauce was a big hit), but the mac-n-cheese only seemed OK to them. The staff was good and we even ran into some kids that had been jumping off the Devil's Washtub earlier that day (so locals know it is good). read more

A nice place to stop for a quick bite to eat. You can tell it's a popular local hangout...there aren't many places to eat AND the place was full of older ladies (I'm guessing a group meeting of some kind, or just everyone in town meeting for lunch!). Because the place was pretty full, it was pretty loud--not loud enough to hamper conversation at our own table, but we were across the room. The service was good and the menu was pretty large with everything from nachos and ceasar salads to burgers, sandwiches, and pizza (lobster, mexican, pesto, and more). I had the basil pesto pizza which was tasty--and I loved the light yet chewy crust--but it could have used a bit more pesto since it was called a pesto pizza. Also, if you're hungry, go a size bigger than the 6" which is only four tiny pieces. read more

I had the beef and swiss sandwich which was great, just a little pink roadt beef for my taste. Onion rings were not cooked hot enough so a little greasy, but other than that very good. Felt like Mary and Joseph in the neighboring town of Copper Harbor. The restaurants there had no room. Not even a waiting list. No reservation you just don't eat tonight. Let's just try Eagle Harbor... So we pull up outside the Eagle Harbor Inn. Walk right in, it's busy !! Like Really busy. We get a table in 3 minutes. We meet another couple at the foyer and the wife says they've been staying here a week and have eaten here 4 nights in a row. That's encouraging. Well, so is the food. My wife got fettuccine Alfredo and I got the Michigan Cherry Chicken Breast. Wow Twas fantastic. The ONLY reason I'm giving 4 stars is because the pacing of the meal was off a little. We got our salads, then poof !!!, our entrees arrived. The food is incredible, the service is good and attentive. Patty, our server was very likable. We will be coming back. UPDATE: We came back for lunch 2 days later. Food was GREAT, service was wonderful. Server, Brooke, made us feel VERY welcome and we had a fantastic meal. The menu is varied and imaginative.
