My beer was as good as it gets. It was bud light. I had the free pop corn that Rocky's offers all of its customers. All we heard from our local family was that we needed to go. So the day we were leaving we made sure to hit up the place as we left town. Bartender was an interesting character. Seemed unfriendly at first, but then warmed up and we were bantering in no time. Although I still got a weird vibe from him. I will say this, he made a bang on spicy bloody Mary and it is by far one of the best I have had in years! We definitely will go back when we come back to visit our family.

Greeted by the bartenders when we walked in, we chose where to sit and walked up to the bar to oder drinks. They have all the well classics in beer and booze so if you don't want snooty, don't order it. If you want high end cocktails with homemade tinctures - they've got you! So the locals are covered and the tourists are covered. The menu is short and sweet. We ordered everything. Popcorn - cool and yum! They put on a bbq rub instead of plain salt. I liked that touch a lot ( and I love my popcorn!). Hot dog - coney style. You want to bath in the chili! The meat in the hot dog is rich and full of flavor. Soft bun, top notch classic dog. Pulled pork - nice pickled sides add good acidity to the pork. It could use a side of sauces though. It would be cool if they had a carrier of different homemade sauces to choose from. Ribs - sold individually. Kind of a cool concept. Reduces waste which is always a good thing. Good smoke flavor and the sauce was really good too. I do love a Carolina sauce but our fiends didn't care for the sauce (mustard base). Again, this ties back to needing some sauce.

She made you feel right at home and super friendly. There was a group of locals that made the bar better with an energy that can only be explained with "if you know, you know". We did not partake in any food but the bartender was making small pizzas in a toaster oven, that looked pretty good for a bar pizza. The place is an unofficial museum dedicated to the old mining days. The bartender was kind enough to light everything up for us in the back and give us a small tour. We are so grateful. The drinks!!
