My family and I were very busy and decided to doordash Jimmy John's, and the results were disappointing. My paper wrapping my sandwich had a big hole in it which is pretty disgusting. I would like to keep purchasing Jimmy John's in the future, but this was unacceptable and extremely disappointing.

After putting in an online prepaid…read moreorder, I discovered that mayo had somehow been added and called the store directly to halt the mayo. They were obtuse and wouldn't listen, refused to ascertain the difficulty, interrupted, then cast accusations on my demeanor. I suggested that communication was the problem and I would talk first and then she could have a turn to respond. (I just put in an order, I don't want the mayo) They could not answer a clear direct question or request, could not remedy a problem they refused to determine and hung up on me. When I called back the other individual said no manager was present and told me he didn't want me coming there. Where do they get people with no customer service skills at all. It's not personal. It's a business transaction and I don't want mayo. The on-line app was ridiculous, and the 'contact us' link led to a chat bot that again was ridiculous. Obtuse and incompetent at a very basic level. Never again.

We found this to be a strange name for a restaurant, but we decided to turn around and stop by. Double the ice cream never hurt anyone, especially after a long two days at Isle Royale. As the name implies, Drive-Thru Depot is mainly drive through or pickup only. There are parking spots numbered up to 10 so the employees can bring your food out to you. You can go inside to order through a door on the South end, but it's pretty much no frills standing room only. There are a couple of tables set up outside if you're interested in eating there. While we were there only for the frozen custard, they sell a wide variety of burgers, hot dogs and other food. They also have ice cream, although it's not made in house and is instead from Cedar Crest. We got the smallest amount of custard possible, just to try the place out. Baby Frozen Custard, Pistachio ($2.50) - The baby size is a 9oz cup piled high with custard, with the swirl spilling over the top of the cup. The custard is dense, creamy and smooth with a good sweetness level. It's not quite as rich as some of the top custard places, but handily beats out most places outside of the Midwest. The color is strikingly mint green; before our first bite we were wondering if they gave us the wrong flavor. But after eating it, we found a pleasant artificial pistachio aroma on the tongue. My best guess is that this is probably some kind of frozen custard pre-mix, but hey, as long as it's churned correctly, most custards are good custards. (4/5) Drive-Thru Depot is worth a stop if you're in the area for a quick snack. While we were there, it was pretty busy with customers lining up in the drive through and parked waiting for pickup orders. Days of travel; each breath that exited our gelid nostrils could likely be our last. And there she stood. A divine messenger, luminous in the dismal twilight. Her name.....was Carmelita. Of our band of nomadic travelers, Father Rose was the worst off. His life nearly lost from the blistering hypothermia. Doctors from Grand Rapids later confirmed his saving grace. One word: Thimbleberry. The hostesses assisted us in changing out of our twisted, ragged robes. With fresh blankets, they wrapped us tightly. In the kitchen, retired Michelin chefs performed a similar action, wrapping world famous wet burritos. The aroma of freshly sliced vegetables, carne asada seared golden, filled the impeccable cookhouse. The dancing flames of the fireplace lies in the heart of Carmelita. Her warm breath nursing our bodies back to life. Crackling pine, a line of rosy sparks travels upward. We watch the show as we pack our growling bellies. Fajitas and quesadillas so exquisite, each bite began to mend the void deep inside our hearts. The caretakers offered us lodging, but we felt we mustn't overstay our welcome. Oh Carmelita, keeper of the flame. We will return, though the snows swallow the roads and the winds forget our names.
