Very friendly place -- you feel like you are at someone's home for a meal rather than a stuffy restaurant. The food is amazing. Absolutely delicious and presented so beautifully with real ingredients sourced from local gardens and farms. There's even a map on the wall showing where the ingredients are coming from in the area. I've eaten here 3 times since I got to town late April. Every single bite of food has been nothing less than delicious. Every person that works there is anything less than friendly, welcoming, and attentive. I love this place so much. You won't be disappointed with anything on the menu but I highly suggest the Gobbler (deluxe) and any of the quiche specials. If you like a sweet breakfast the French toast specials are also excellent. Don't forget to go to the shop to pick up groceries. They have nueskes bacon in the freezer and an awesome cheese selection. 10/10 highly recommend this place. read more

Wonderful Vegan gem. My friend and I enjoyed everything we tried. We started with masala chai and ended with chiku milk shake. The owner was very amicable and nice to talk to. Best breakfast spot on the West End for sure. Eclectic cafe in the back of the store has excellent and coffee and food. Many of the ingredients are locally sourced or organic, and breakfast is not dripping in grease like so many other places. Prices are reasonable and the atmosphere and staff are very welcoming. The store in front has the best selection of beer outside of Marquette and can all be purchased as singles. Wine selection is fantastic as well. The store offers a unique mix of clothing, food, beer and wine, and smoking accessories (separate room). read more

This is such a cool place! Had breakfast on Saturday in the cafe, and it was so good! A lot of the food is sourced locally and/or organic (they have a sheet of paper on the wall with the local food contributors). I was really impressed that they had Nueske's bacon there, along with the other locally supplied food, so made sure to order that with the breakfast (which was excellent). Coffee was strong, but not too strong, (I picked up a bag of Ethiopian in the goods area, and am enjoying it as I type in Minnesota-it is excellent and super fresh). After eating I browsed around the store, and found some cool local items as well as the aforementioned coffee. Lastly, if you're headed west, this is the last place to get a good cup of coffee for an hour or two, so make sure to stop through if you're needing a quality cup (none of that gas station grade swill). read more

We stopped here for lunch based on the reviews, and were not disappointed. Friendly service, perky ambiance, and decent, clean food. Keep in mind it's basically and sandwich place as they only have a grill not a fryer, but they do a lot within those constraints, have a decent number of options, and also serve breakfast all day. Especially great if you're vegetarian-inclined; they also have a lot of farm-to-table meat options for the carnivores. I got the a half sandwich & cup of tomato Gorgonzola soup, which was tasty, if a bit too salty. I substituted Tuscan potatoes for the chips for an extra .75. They get extra points for going to get hot chocolate from the store in front when my son wanted hot chocolate and it wasn't on the menu. So they made it special, with whipped cream and everything. I would eat here again, would love to try their malts sometime. read more

This is one of the best breakfasts I've ever had. My wife and I went here after looking at their web site menu. We both had breakfast NO. 1. Eggs were perfect sausage and bacon perfect. My car died so I wound up in Ishpeming for the afternoon. This place is amazing. Great food and great service, with a really nice alternative vibe. I had a panini (one of the specials), tea and soup. Everything was delicious, with friendly, fun service. And free WIFI. A hidden gem! If you are looking for fresh, clean, delicious food , go here! I had a guacamole/ hummus wrap with veggies and chicken. I consider it to be some of the most delicious and freshest food I have ever eaten in a restaurant. The price was very reasonable. I had a deep appreciation for the raspberry iced tea too. It was just as I love it- no sweeteners and it tasted like actual raspberries. Awesomely unique, super charming, very lovely cafe. Run by local people, serving local food. Vegan/vegetarian/gluten sensitive options were readily available, which is hard to come by in the UP from my experience.
