Very cool coffee shop in an old house with multiple rooms and an upstairs. We parked in the parking lot. I prices are reasonable. I had a delicious hot chai tea latte. They brew their own chai concentrate. My friend had a blueberry loose leaf tea. They have a coffee grinding room and sell bags of Crappie Coffee roasted in Marquette. I ordered a cold brew coffee and the barista was kind and considerate enough not to befoul it with ice at my request; the coffee itself had its soft bitterness carefully balanced by a warm flavor profile that had comfortable undertones of chocolate in perfect compliment to the cozy atmosphere offered by the rainy day. I was fortunate enough to be able to reserve time in the conference room upstairs for a quieter experience than the rest of the store. It afforded me a lovely view of Marquette in order to better enjoy the weather and enough space to take frequent breaks from sitting as is recommended by healthcare professionals! I asked a Marquette local where is his go to place for coffee and he recommended The Crib. I went to go check it out! The Crib is located in a blue two story house. The first floor is where you order with some seating. There is more seating on the second floor. The roast their own beans and make their own syrups. I had a pour over of their Ethiopian Yirgacheffe, which I highly recommend! Their drink menu is very simple, which I very much appreciate. Also, they have alcohol on their drink menu for the evening. All I can say is, if the person working behind the counter looks like she would rather be anywhere else, it kind of puts a damper on the whole experience. We paid $13.50 for two small cups of drip coffee and some very dry baked goods. We ate up and left. Very disappointing but there are other, better options nearby. read more

It may look like a house from the outside, but this place in unique. I visit The Crib for the coffee selection, but they do have beer and wine as well. It's is a nice place to hangout with friends while sipping a cup of coffee and relaxing. They have a very comfortable (and large) couch upstairs and once you sit down, you'll be there for a while. It's a unique little space with really good coffee, though it's a tad pricey, (which I'm okay with,) as it's nice to have a variety of coffee options in Marquette. A rundown of Marquette coffee..You've got the Marquette food co-op coffee for $1, which is decent, but of varying strength, (usually kind of a weak brew.) Most other places charge around $2 for a slightly stronger brew, (like "3rd street bagel" and "Bob's Bomb Bay," and then you have "The Crib," and "Velodrome" selling a cup for $3 a piece, which seems pricey on the surface, but the coffee is freshly brewed, a little stronger, and a little (maybe a lot) fresher, and top quality, so it's worth it, (if you really enjoy a quality cup.) Also, with the coffee being that much fresher, you do get a nice jolt of caffeine with just one regular cup; about the same amount you'd get off two cups of most other brews in town. What I'm saying is, you won't need a second cup here, so it's more efficient coffee experience : ) This space also proved to be perfect to charge the phone while sitting at a table, while scouting out activities for the day. It's a nice quiet, open, super clean space (immaculate really,) with two different rooms, with lots of seating within each room, so that you have your own little nooks with which to work/read/plan. read more

Neat place! The location is right in downtown Marquette. The inside looked and felt cozy and homie. Visited twice and had a Guatemalan pour-over which was great! They also have sweet treats; mini-cheesecakes, pie, and other yummy items to pick from. It's a nice place to relax, play some cards, or even do some work. Highly recommended. read more

I have to say, I was a little let down at The Crib. After a suggestion from a local waitress, we decided to give it a try. The Colombia Tolima Roast was good but the Cinnamon Roll was dry, hard and lacking flavor. When asked if it could be warmed (to help soften it), we were told it could not be. Possibly purchasing something for this purpose would be helpful! The staff were friendly, seating was plenty, the atmosphere was quite ecclectic and the coffee was good. I don't know that I would go back though; it certainly didn't leave a lasting impression. read more

Friendly, quaint place. Ordered and served outside (Covid). Drip coffee, caramel latte ordered. Coffee was very, very burnt tasting. My husband drinks a LOT of drip coffee. Great place for a quiet coffee or "adult beverage". The young roaster does a great and consistent job with the coffee. For a complex coffee tasting experience get "The Jig" roast. The owners have researched and consulted expert mixologists the best way to mix up their cocktails. For me the Rittenhouse Rye with maple syrup Old Fashion just can't be beat. This is an awesome spot to gather or find some solace to work alone. This beautiful remodeled local landmark serves coffee house drinks and has some great boozey options to imbibe. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable - they're great resources to weary travelers in spots to explore and grab a bite to eat. I'd recommend their gf pastries or the best cinnamon roll you've ever had. Because it is an old historical home the place has lots of character. Their open floor plan overs several cozy seating options and lots of local art to enjoy. You can even see their coffee roaster hard at work.
