First, the highlights... Food here is always excellent. Coffee always excellent. Staff is amazing. Now the lowlights... sometimes it takes 30 to 40 minutes from the time you order until you get your food. This place can be really busy. Keep that in mind. This is a cute spot and has a lot of potential but really needs a better system/more employee urgency to be efficient. Wait was posted to be 40-45 min (which is good to know upfront - so thank you) for hot items while not a single person inside or out had any food/drink. When asking if the drinks would be yes, we were assured it would be quicker than posted. Ordering 1 smoothie, and iced coffee the wait was 55 minutes. The smoothie was our first and coffee forgotten about until we went to counter to ask. 2 times we said "iced" in which we were handed a hot coffee. I love third street bagels. I come every time I'm up in Marquette! Such good bagels and in beautiful city. It's just such a treat. This place is usually packed to the brim when I'm here but they're usually pretty quick with orders. I got a lox bagel and it was so good. Everyone in my group got a bagel, most the men got 2 or 3 just for themselves and each one was delicious. You can't go wrong. Stopped by on a Monday morning around 10:30am as this sounded like a great place to get a quick breakfast before the journey back to Milwaukee, Wisconsin. It was so much busier than I anticipated for the time of day. As I waited to reach the counter to place an order, I saw others orders being taken to tables. It all looked and smelled incredible. Sadly, there was a problem. The menu is posted behind the counter, like how it is at Panera or fast food restaurant, is approximately 15-30 ft away, depending on where you are standing....in size 14 point font. Maybe it was 16 point, not sure because I couldn't read it. I couldn't even read it when I got up to the counter. Now, my eye doctor did say I might need readers soon, but this was a challenge for my distance vision and I just changed my contacts. Once I realized I couldn't read the menu, I looked up the website to read it from my phone. There were only very specific sandwiches listed, which was not helpful as it clearly did not reflect the menu posted. Everyone around me must have known the menu by heart and had no issues ordering. The line went quickly, Too quickly for me to even ask someone else how the whole operation works. Then I had to become *that* customer, the one who has to asks several questions and hold up the line because they are clueless. I noticed customer after customer going through the order line beside me and I just started panicking, so I spit out "turkey and cheddar," then the dreaded question: on which bagel? I could barley make out the signs posted on the bins with the bagels, and Asiago it was. Because I'm from Wisconsin and I like cheese. Tables are fairly close together, so not an intimate setting and not a place for personal talk. I felt far too involved in conversation taking place at the table beside me. It took a few minutes before the bagel arrived. It was massive, it was delicious, it was much better than I anticipated! There is a reason this is a popular spot. Highly recommend as long as you are not short on time (if ordering in person), but have an idea of what you want ahead of time. I am also looking for the best breakfast bagel and 3rd third holds the top spot. I recommend the jalapeno and cheddar bagel with sundried cream cheese, egg, and turkey! Another combo I love is their Power bagel with honey almond cream cheese. They have excellent coffee choices as well. Staff is alway friendly and very speedy with how busy the place can get. Bagels were fine. Service was meh. Waited 20 minutes just for 4 bagels with cream cheese. Restaurant was extremely dirty.

I walked in and instantly loved the shop because it was very clean and organized. The dining room has a good amount of seating for the size of the shop. The cashier was very polite and was happy to share her favorites with us. The wait was quite long, and I was the only one there. However I could easily plan for the next time to expect a longer wait. The looks of breakfast sandwich made me very excited! The bagel is large, and the size of the scrambled eggs was proportionate to the bagel. The sausage was quite small compared to the bagel and egg leaving a good amount of bites with out the meat. I had to take mine Togo and realized there was a large area that the bagel was over toasted, slightly burnt, but it made the bagel very dry and hard. I was surprised to find a lack of flavor because I had "The Works" bagel similar to an everything bagel, however some salt and pepper could have helped. read more

I've been here a couple of times. I like that you can order breakfast all day and that there are vegetarian options. The bagels have always been fresh, but if you go for lunch they are always running low or out of certain varieties. The inside was recently renovated, and it looks very nice and modern. I have eaten the same couple sandwiches here over the past few years. The past two times I have gotten them I have been increasingly disappointed. They started giving you less gluten free bread, which is fine but the change was alarming. However, the content of food of the sandwiches has also decreased. I just got the grilled Turkey sandwich and there were no sun dried tomatoes on it. The turkey was piled up in one spot (see photos) and there were only two pieces of artichoke, one of which was so tough to chew I had to spit it out. I reported my dissatisfaction to the employees, and they quickly offered a refund. I don't ever ask for refunds at places, I just like to communicate my observations so they can be better in the future. I will try to come here a few more times before I give up on them, but it's sad to see your favorite breakfast sandwich place decline in quality so quickly. 3/5 stars because I know they can do better. Would have given two but the employees were more accommodating than I asked for. Edit: final photo is the same sandwich taken about a year ago. There is a clear difference in quality. read more

This place has one of the best bacon egg and cheese bagels i have had in awhile! Bagel was so soft even after bring toasted. I also got a dirty chia to drink which was good, but would definitely go with the spiced version next time to give the full spiced chai profile (I got vanilla). Lox deli sandwich on a Works Bagel... excellent! Fresh and tasty and I can't wait to have another. The flavors of this sandwich go so well together.... Smoked salmon, cream cheese, tomato, capers and red onion. All melt in your mouth. I read a few other reviews who were upset with orders being late or taking a lot of time. I can say I did not have this issue... in fact my order was ready 5 mins before the arranged pick up time. (And it was a order for 5 people - both sandwiches and drinks). Service was friendly and the restaurant was very clean. If I had to report any drawback it would be the parking lot. Because the drive through wraps around the building I got blocked in my stall in the lot, and when someone finally let me back out, I still had to wait in the one way drive through line to get out. A visit to Third Street Bagel is a must while visiting Marquette for me. The bagels are huge and the amount of cream cheese is enough to cream cheese a whole other bagel (my best friend scraped off half of her pumpkin cream cheese and brought it home for later!). Me and my boyfriend went for a hot bagel sandwich. I got the morita on a sundried tomato bagel and he got the Grilled Chicken on a asiago bagel. The chipotle mayo on the morita provided great flavor and my boyfriend loved the aoli on the grilled chicken. I was a little disappointed in the sundried tomato bagel. This bagel was a little hard for my taste... I prefer a soft pillowy bagel. I have had the everything bagel before which is much better and in the future I will stick with that! One thing I would love to see is at least one vegan cream cheese option. I have had the bagels plain and they are even good like that but I wish they at least had one vegan cream cheese option. Nice bagel place downtown. All the bagels, sandwiches, and coffee were fresh and pretty tasty. First time stopping in to pick up an order for something we to try. Wasn't really disappointed. Couple of negatives I would mention is time and price. The bagels are already made, so I'm not sure what is the extra delay putting together a couple sandwiches. We ordered 2 coffees and 6 bagels. Couple of them were sandwiches and the others were just with cream cheese. Total bill was $48, ouch. Mine was a ham and cheddar without the lettuce and tomato or mayo. About $6 for that sandwich and I wish it had just a little more meat than the two thinly sliced pieces that were on it. I'd probably go back simply based on the freshness and flavor. But for the time and price, I'll stick to more the special treat visits than a daily stop. read more
