They make amazing non dairy lattes and cappuccinos and they carry these coffee cake sugar cookies(from Doozers in Ishpeming) that are to die for. Got an iced americano with fruity pebble cold foam(which they don't charge extra for!!) which was incredible. Also got a sugar cookie custard sandwich with sprinkles(also from Doozers)- Phenomenal. Wow, just wow. If you're anywhere near Marquette, Veldrome Coffee is an absolute MUST. I've had my fair share of coffees, but what I tried here seriously took my taste buds on a wild ride. They have a summer menu with fun drinks like a fruity pebbles latte and lavender basil. When I come back, lavender basil will be my jam. Super trendy. Just drinks and cute merch. Limited seating. My party of 6 fit perfectly in one of the 3 rooms. There was a line but we got our things quickly. Street parking, but also a small lot across the st. The chai was good. I should have gotten a hot latte on this borderline chilly September day, but the largest size was so small that I didn't freeze. There were no flowers but at least 3 indoor plants. One of my favorite coffee shops in Michigan. I don't know of it's because they only hire magical coffee-making wizards, or if they only buy the best tasting beans, or if the beautiful melody of caffeine flavors are just next level good because your brain is being flooded with extra hell-yes-I'm-in-the-UP dopamine spikes. Maybe a combo of all 3. But man. If you're in the area, and you love the coffee, it's a must. And because pandemic: Covid props for providing online ordering. Watch out yelps hours are wrong. They were open until 6 pm not 3 pm. Minimalist decor, super clean. Staff was nice and friendly. They had two seasonal options, fruity pebbles (umm hell yes) and coconut latte. My boring husband got a vanilla latte, but said it was awesome. Velodrome was our last stop before we left the city on our road trip and boy, was it a memorable one. It has one of the most aesthetically pleasing design. Simple, clean, minimalistic, chic. If I had one of these near my home you bet I will come weekly. Their coffee and latte options are nice as well. I didn't get the chance to go here more than a couple of times while I was in town, but the drinks I got were both good. One was a Velochata (basically a horchata) and the other was called the Beach Comber, which was a mix of hibiscus juice and coffee. I regret that I didn't get the chance to try a cappuccino but I'm always so enchanted by summer specials. There were a couple little sitting areas inside, but nothing too extensive. Not too sweet and can still taste the quality of the good coffee They also offer interesting bakery items - typically gluten free options! The inside decor is very cool and worth checking out. You can tell they are passionate about what they do. They also offer a monthly coffee subscription if you do not live in the area. Needed a coffee "pick-me-up" the morning we were heading out of Marquette and decided to try the place that we learned supplied the coffee brûlée for one of our desserts from 231 West Patisserie. Half the shop is dedicated to their bike repairs business and the other half is the coffee shop which has a very cool vibe. I tried a seasonal offering of theirs called the Gingersnap Latte (iced), and it was divine. The mix of rose, brown sugar and espresso was such a perfect combo that I hope they bring it back! My sister tried their Mint Milano (also iced) and said it was a bit too minty for her preference but I'm thinking that could be a preference thing or something that could be combatted by adding more milk/milk alternative to the drink. read more
