The vibe was most excellently mellow. We are both gin fans, so a good time was sure to be had. I enjoyed the Farm Barbie (summer gin, cinnamon, strawberry rhubarb jam, and lime), then a mojito (maybe), and lastly a classic bourbon old-fashioned. All delicious :) As I was at the bar picking up my last drink, I was lucky enough to chat with the distiller, who told me about sourcing the spruce in the current seasonal gin (okay, it's been a spell, but I think she said at Wetmore Landing?). So cool!! I'm excited to bring my husband here once we head up again for a visit.

The distillery is open and bright with crisp clean lines every where you look. Modern and welcoming. The eclectic staff are kind and knowledgeable. We happen to stop by during their newest Rye Bourbon release and were impressed. We equally, if not more, enjoyed their coffee liquor and left with a couple of bottles. They will remain on our list of stops when we are in the area!

We came after one of their events had just ended, so even though it was a Saturday night, there were only two other tables occupied. We tried about 5-6 beers. All very very mid at best. The Elvis stout had high expectations, but I didn't get any PB notes from my opinion. The other beers were fine, but nothing stood out or would make me want to come back any time soon.

It came with steak fries, coleslaw, and a roll with butter. We also ordered an appetizer, barbecued wings. We got the wings first. They were fried and covered in barbecue sauce. They were average for wings. We got the fish a short time later. There were 3 nice pieces of cod. They had a crispy batter and were tender and flaky. The steak fries were deep fried to a golden brown. The coleslaw was average. This lunch was a-ok.

Jasper Ridge Brewery feels like it should be a solid sit-down brewery experience in Ishpeming, but…read morethe execution across the board did not match expectations. On the food side, I ordered a Reuben Melt. The sandwich came out unevenly heated, with the corned beef leaning dry in parts and the rye bread slightly over-toasted on one side. The balance of sauerkraut and sauce felt inconsistent, which made the overall flavor feel flat rather than cohesive. It was edible, but not well executed. Service was slow and lacked structure. There was a noticeable delay in initial table attention, and once the order was in, there was very little communication or follow-up. The pacing of the meal felt disorganized, like the kitchen and front of house were not fully in sync. The ambiance does not really elevate the experience either. The space has the layout of a brewery-style restaurant, but it comes across more chaotic than inviting, with noise carrying unevenly and the dining area feeling a bit worn rather than maintained in a way that enhances comfort. Overall, this was a disappointing visit. The food was poorly balanced, service was slow and inattentive, and the atmosphere did not make up for the gaps in execution.

We already love Velodrome's coffee, but their service was absolutely top-notch. The worst matcha I have ever had in my life…read more... Visiting my best friend in Marquette we went to her favorite coffee place... cruise-n-coffee. I don't drink coffee but most coffee places offer really good tea latte alternatives like matcha or chai. After scouring the menu I finally found matcha listed on the seasonal menu... and to my surprise it was my favorite matcha latte of all time, matcha lavender. I have never had a matcha that was so bad it was undrinkable until I ordered matcha from here. I have had matcha lattes that lacked wow factor but were still drinkable... not this one...There was no matcha flavor but a weird hint of fruit... like they accidentally added strawberry or something to it? I should have known they didn't know matcha when I ordered and she asked if I wanted espresso in it... I took one sip... had everyone else try because I was that shocked by it... and threw it away... My boyfriend got the strawberry shortcake latte and it was pink.. not sure if there was any coffee... but he drank half and tossed it.. My bestfriend enjoyed her latte which i think is the only thing they really know how to make.. she did tell me that someone she knew ordered a plain latte before and it was disappointing so just stick with their cool flavors like almond joy and DO NOT stray from the latte section.
