Self serve in that you order and pick up your beers in the little bar and swag area down some steps in the front and then are free to walk anywhere inside and on the outdoor patio to find seating. Brewery #278 Blackrocks Brewery is a really nice place with lots of potential that they seem to be tapping into as I write this. Blackrocks is a larger than it looks facility with lots of seating. They are prepared for all the weather with outdoor and rooftop seating for the warmer months and and lots of indoor seating with heaters throughout. The rooftop was especially nice and even my ladyfriend would have liked all the plants and flowers up there. The beer is really good. I got a flight that consisted of Third Street Stout, Oktoberfest, MYKISS (American IPA), and Nordskye (Hazy IPA). All were solid but the Nordskye was phenomenal! They seem to be in the middle of an expansion. Maybe adding food? A solid food option could put this place in that 5 star category. The only other complaint is that the parking sucks. read more

Lots of outdoor space but dogs aren't allowed.. which sucks because most breweries allowed dogs. Drinks are good, the space is so cool! Food trucks are on site as well, Reuben rolls were phenomenal. Games for the kiddos outdoors too! read more

On a short trip to Marquette I dropped into Blackrocks for a drink and a bit of chill time. The beers were tasty, ambiance was lively, and it was exactly what I was expecting. For beers, I tried a flight of the Ray's Fiesta Time, Grand Rabbits, Razzle Rabbits, and Float Copper. All were tasty, with my fav being the Float Copper. This was a crispy, hoppy (but not too hoppy) amber lager, which was perfect for the warm evening vibes. Service at Blackrocks was solid, with attentive bar tenders, and friendly staff as a whole. The two hidden gems at the brewery were the mug club mugs hanging all around and the swag shop. This mug club collection of hand-made pieces was awesome to take a look at while enjoying the beer. I really enjoyed this place inside and out. What a cold layout for a brewery. Unlike anything you would see in Orlando! We came here about 2pm on July 4th and it was not as crowded as I thought when we walked in which was great. My boyfriend being the shopper that he is, started in the gift shop which had an assortment of hates, shirts, stickers, sweatshirts and other things. He bought a shirt of course :) We then got our drinks and I usher there was a little more selection but the beer they did have was super good! We got their 51 which is my boyfriends favorite. They have several places to sit at. Inside , outside , upstairs, downstairs, the brewery takes up almost two houses so it's a great large space with little nooks to sit everywhere. We opted to sit on the rooftop and it was a gorgeous day so very happy we did. The service was okay. For being 4th of July it got busy as it became later and my boyfriend waited in line a while for his second beer. Overall, a unique brewery with a ton of seating for all types of weather. Visited from out of town and really loved the vibe at this place. From the rooftop out front to the back patio by the fireplace. We stopped both nights and the only thing I regret is not drinking more of the Honey Lav the first night, because it was sold out the second visit. Only complaint was the lack of personality from the guy who poured by beer working the front bar, thankfully he was gone & replaced with a happy, friendlier worker the next beer pour. read more

If you love breweries, you'll like Blackrocks. We only tried 4 of the current selections they had on tap and all 4 didn't disappoint. It has the option to sit inside or out and both areas have plenty of room. Definitely had a cool vibe to the place. A few food trucks were getting set up when we left but they do allow you to bring your own food in, which we did. I would recommend it if you are in the area. read more

We were lucky enough to stay at an Airbnb right down the street from Blackrocks while in Marquette! We ended up at Blackrocks twice in our very short visit, we love it that much. It had been several years since I'd been to Blackrocks, so the extended outdoor space was completely new to me. The brewery is inside a house with limited indoor seating upstairs, but it looks like they bought the building next door, as well as added a couple fire pits, big picnic tables, a stage, and an entire outdoor tent to up the capacity. We arrived right after they opened on a Saturday and got a great seat by a fire pit. I loved that they're gas powered so no smoke issues. I enjoyed a few pints of Frood Noops, a juicy, creamy NEIPA. It was so smooth and delicious, fruity tasting and went down easy - a little too easy. We spent several hours outside just enjoying our friends' company and soaking up some sun showers before our dinner plans. We ended up chatting with the people nearby and ordered some takeout from Lagniappe to snack on. They did have a pizza truck available too when we were there, but they don't have a designated kitchen. Blackrocks is a must stop anytime I'm in Marquette, especially now with the additional capacity outside. Things outside were a bit under construction when we were there in September 2021 but we had a great time. read more

Always a must visit when I'm in Marquette. They recently expanded their building in the past few years, providing a bit more space - we always prefer the patio. The place is usually packed and for good reason. Great beer and almost always have food trucks outside for either pizza or burgers. We went here on a Thursday night and it was packed! The beer was flowing, sun was shining, and people were having a great time in the outdoor areas (rooftop and backyard). There is an outdoor bar with limited menu and inside is the full menu. They do not serve food but almost always have a food truck outside to bring food in wherever you can find a spot to sit or stand. 51k IPA still stands as the best after trying a few, but only $3.50 for a pint is even better. When in Marquette, visit here for a rocking good time with live music, fresh beer, and rad people. read more

Beautiful day to sit outside in the UP. no food served here - but there are food trucks. I also walked to a nearby convenience store for chips/soda while we hung out. No inside seating during covid, but, there is a HUGE outside area. A large tent, in addition to the area/covered area behind the yellow house. They also seem to own the next door property as the deck is in process of being expanded there as well. We went two days in a row. Great service both days. read more

We were on a brewery tour of the UP and BlackRocks was on our list. Over the past several weeks, people have suggested Blackrocks to us. This brewery is located in the town of Marquette and is a converted home. There is a large tent area outside to accommodate large crowds. We ordered a sample flight and took it out to the tent to enjoy some music and people watch. This brewery is a local fav and we really enjoyed out beer selections. Due to social distancing there was limited seating in the brewery and I feel that they are doing a great job monitoring the crowds. We will most certainly be back for another round real soon. read more

We loved the atmosphere and how kind all the employees were. I like all of their staples (Honey Lav and MyKiss, especially) and they usually have a few seasonals or special releases. They have a store inside and you can buy beer to go via cans or growlers. Pros: Outstanding beer at fair prices, great atmosphere and a very cool crowd of customers. Cons: Food only from food trucks, sketchy parking and filthy men's rooms (otherwise I'd give it 5 Stars). The Hot Blond Wife and I visited Blackrocks on two occasions 8/10/23. The first time, we got there before the food trucks showed up and we wanted lunch. So they directed us down the street to Stucko's, which was a Godsend (the Greatest Whitefish Sammys in the world). We went back that night to hear some live music, drink some fantastic beer and mingle with the cool kids. This is a must stop when you're in Marquette, MI or the U.P. in general. read more

Excellent, super cheap beer! They have an outdoor beer garden setup that is super cutely decorated, pints of craft beer available at an indoor and outdoor tap for $3-4 a pint! Had the coconut brown, honey lav, and an IPA, all of which were delicious and super unique. Would have stared here all day if I could. Covid measures were a little intense, you had to keep a mask on outside unless you were seated, and they won't let anyone under 21 in even if they literally have both parents with them.
