I'm through buying groceries at this Meijers. Too many times when I get home and review my receipt I find that I did not get the sale price on an item, but paid the full price. I think some of their pricing is intentionally deceptive too. If you don't read all of the fine print on a sale marked item you will pay full price. Don't have time for this nonsense. Also, they have a large can/bottle return area with not enough machines. Half the time I go there there is a line to wait in. read more

I hate this store with a burning passion. The service is always terrible. I have shifted to almost always shopping at Super One, which is much more enjoyable. I did a Meijers Marquette trip today because I had a stack of coupons. After filling my cart, I got to checkout and there was **one** (1!!!!) lane open at just after 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. ONE lane!! I was going to just do self-checkout, but there are signs that apparently now that's limited to 20 or fewer items. ONE LANE!! Staff finally noticed the huge line and started opening a few more, but the system is set up so that if you're unlucky and get stuck behind a nightmare shopper, you're trapped. Were this an isolated experience, I'd give the store a break. But it's always something there. Very frequently very long waits to check out. Always very rude and unhelpful employees doing the checking out and at the service desk. I used to use the app to check my stuff out as I go, but the second time it failed after I did so much extra work was my limit on that (great when it works, but it's not reliable and when it fails A., that's infuriating and B., asking for help will be met with VERY rude unhelpful non-service). Meijer - Grocery Near Me - Marquette, Michigan

For over a month I have been using the order pick up service. It has been a life-saver as I am unable to walk through the store. The mobility carts are a challenge as well. I only had 6 items to buy today so I went in. Most of my items were in meat and produce. Eggs are at the rear of the store. I double checked with one of the produce stockers and she confirmed it. It was too far for me to walk. I said, "Well, I can't go that far, it'll have to wait for my next order." She graciously offered to get them for me. What service! I didn't catch her name but she was leaving the building at about 3:00 P.M. on October 2. She deserves a commendation. read more

This Meijers is very clean and spacious as well as very organized! Loved its variety of premise fruit & veggie trays!

If you need your called-in scrips filled, go to Snyder's or Walgreens, especially if it's a medication the state of MI deems controlled. Scrips will absolutely get lost if your specialist is from another state. read more

I have shopped at this Meijer on two occasions in the past month. The store has a grocery side and a home side. The layout is well marked and it flows well. The fruits and vegetables are as close to a farmers market as they can be. There is a great selection of meat, poultry and fresh fish. The wait at the deli counter can be a tad long but I will attribute it to shopping on the day before the fourth and a weekend. The cashier checks you out and bags which makes it a bit more lengthy checkout. Our only irritation was that while loading our groceries in our Ford 250 Truck this afternoon we noticed a huge dent on the upper right side of the bed. Obviously some idiot not only bashed in our vehicle in broad daylight but left without providing his insurance information. My husband called the store and they have video of the lot maybe it will reveal the culprit. read more

I always love a little stop at Farmer Qs! They have both organic and not organic options depending on what you want to spend or look for. I always seem to spend less there then I would at the grocery store. Owners are hard working and friendly, it's nice to chat with them. Love to see Michigan produce when available! read more

I was happy to see a Meijer in Marquette as I move to town. I've shopped at their stores in Illinois and had generally good experiences. I loaded my cart with groceries and some move-in supplies. I found most of what I need, but not everything. Missed a lot of the good items HyVee offers, but I had a pretty full cart and was looking pretty good to go home well stocked. But the service was so bad I left with nothing. I was really shocked at how I was treated at the checkout. First, they were really understaffed across the board. So I was waiting in a line, trying to be patient. I had a lot to catch up with on my phone. I did a lot of work on my phone standing there not moving. The family at the register had a lot of needs that took multiple interventions from higher level people who needed to be summoned. I won't complain about that, but the manager should have noticed that the people waiting were getting very bad service and we should have been accommodated on another register. Eventually after the woman behind me left for somewhere else I bolted to another register. I was unloading my cart onto the belt while the clerk very slowly helped a customer, spending more mental energy nattering on about one inane thing after another. Finally she finished, looked at me for the first time, and said "actually, I'm closed." At this point, I'm getting really irate because I've been in this store way too long. No way should I have gotten this "I won't be serving you" message after I've mostly unloaded my cart. I explained that I had been waiting forever in an unmoving line, and I was either getting my groceries at that lane or they could be re-shelved. The manager who drifted over couldn't have cared less. So I left, really, really irate. The clerk who only cared that she had already worked longer than she'd planned was one thing, but the manager just looking at me like "we really don't care about your business, today or in the future" was just stunning. He really would rather re-shelve all that stuff and lose a customer for both a single day big purchase and in the long term instead of offering me minimal service. Will I ever go back? Not while there are other options. Between the local Target and Amazon, I've already gotten much of what was in that cart. My groceries business is going to a store where both checkout clerks and managers don't need full retraining. read more

I've always been a fan of Meijer, as I'm originally from downstate. I've never had a problem with anything at Meijer. Until going to this one. Don't get me wrong, this location is wonderful. The layout is neat and organized. It flows very well, except for the craft section lacking and in the middle of nowhere. The checkout lines are fast and efficient and the cashiers are nice. My one issue, which is one of my favorite things about Meijer, is that the produce is bad. I've never had a problem with Meijer produce, but after shopping here many time since the store opened, I have been very disappointed with all the produce I buy. As a vegetarian, I buy lots of fresh fruits and veggies, but it's anything but fresh here. I couldn't get green peppers or cucumbers last time I was there because they were all soft or had spots/holes in them. A couple times before that, I bought cucumbers, strawberries, and carrots, went to cut them up the next day and they were all spoiled on the insides. Until the produce issue is fixed, I don't think I'll be going back. read more

Amazing! I am originally from Saginaw, Mi and I grew up going to Meijer. When I first moved to Marquette in 2005 I was bummed to find out Meijer wasn't in Marquette. Fast forward to 2018 and we are now graced with Meijer. My wife and I came on the day of the grand opening and were very impressed. It is clean, organized, well stocked, and has a wide variety of specialty items that cannot be found at other local grocery/department stores. We have been back a few times since their opening and have been easily able to find what we have been looking for. Produce has been fresh, meat has been fresh and delicious, and they have a wide variety of ethnic and specialty food. We have even gone to their deli/sushi counter and had custom sushi rolls made. I feel odd saying this but Meijer might have the best sushi in Marquette! Everything was fresh, delicious, and tasted better at half the cost of the other two sushi spots in town. All I can say is WOW! Meijer is going to be on the leaderboard as best grocery store in Marquette! read more
