My first time here... Bar seems large and clean. I'm looking forward to coming back during some colder weather to try the Irish specialties, sampler platter was to be expected for barfood.

Sheridan's, on the right, located in historic downtown Smyrna near the historic fire department (in the distance).

My rating is really 4.5 stars, as I didn't experience enough to it that extra full star. When I visited Smyrna, I went here for dinner and the only thing I regretted was not carrying enough money on me for, while it wasn't low budget enough for me to get anything (being rather poor sadly) it IS definitely worth the price! The owner, Ms. Sheridan (I forgot her first name), is super-friendly and I swear she's full-blooded Irish herself. She talked to several customers at the bar while I ate. The atmosphere when I was there was calm and relaxing too. The menu items are VERY authentic and I wish I got something more than I did. I got a tomato soup cup for $4 or so, and while that's usually a dollar more than I'd like to spend for a soup "cup," it was the best tomato soup I may EVER have had, and that's saying something for plain ol' tomato soup. I definitely want to come back again!

I stumbled upon Sheridan's Irish Pub on a work trip to Delaware. I had no expectations when we stepped foot into Sheridan's and I honestly can say that I haven't been impressed with an Irish Pub in a long time. Sheridan's is very spacious and I can see this place easily accommodating both small and large groups. I visited Sheridan's a little before St. Patrick's Day and I could easily see this place being the number one place to go around that time. Sheridan's managed to get me excited for St. Patrick's Day even though I knew I wouldn't be around for it. The one thing that I noticed is that even though it's a Irish Pub they have a very diverse menu. Typically going to a restaurant that advertises being one style and having a scattered menu is a turnoff but the food was delicious. Both myself and my colleagues thoroughly enjoyed the food. They have a delicious vegetarian selection along with many options for meat eaters. Sheridan's would definitely would be on my list of my favorite bars if I lived in Delaware!

So disappointing. So came here as a group of 8 for dinner. I've been here before years ago and enjoyed my meal and service throughly. The night we went wasn't the same experience. First off the waitress seemed distracted most of the time and took forever to complete our drink order then took like 40 mins before she came back for our food order. We were pretty hungry by then. I ordered the soup of the day which was french onion and my friend next to me ordered the potato bacon soup. Ohhh and the water tasted like gross bar tap water which is also weird as well. I ordered a beer so I wouldn't have to drink the water. My French onion came out and was pretty delicious. Would have liked to see more onion and cheese on the soup but still pretty solid. My friend was still waiting on her soup but before you know it our entrees were out. I got the cajun shrimp boxty which is one of the popular items on the menu. Tastewise it tasted pretty decent but the shrimp in the boxty was super overcooked to the point that it was rubbery/hard instead of plump and juicy. I'm not sure how they prepare it but I'm pretty sure they cook the filling then place it inside the potato pancake. Sauce was pretty good and at least you get a ton of veggies. End of the night we all paid. My friend still got charged for her soup and when she asked the waitress to take it off she was met with some attitude. (Most of the night she gave us attitude as well) My other friend never got her onions with her venison meal and was also charged for it (luckily they took that off her bill as well) The cherry on top was when the next day I had my leftover boxty for lunch (I do not like to waste food if it's somewhat decent to eat) I discovered before warming it up a piece of straight black hair on top of my boxty. I mean I have black hair but LONG black hair so I knew it couldn't be mine. Not a fan maybe will come back here for drinks and maybe an app but just disappointed with the whole experience.

October 2025. This restaurant has closed sorry to say. The potato soup here was to die for and will be sorely missed. .

Hubby's birthday and he wanted to stay local due to many home projects we had going on. This place has been a permanent fixture in the area for years. Our first time. Located on the corner of a small strip mall offset by the Wawa, bank & Walgreens. It features live music, karaoke and sports on 7 TV's. My husband got the cowboy sirloin which was a good quality cut and cooked as requested. It came with onion rings and choice of two sides. He had a bourbon & club ($10) for a beverage. I had the French onion soup which was decent but a hunk of French bread was overwhelming in it. Got the loaded potato skins. They were decent perhaps a bit overdone but not a deal breaker. I'm sure they are from a food service. For dessert we got the overloaded brownie & ice cream. That too was decent. Food overall was good. There's 16 tables, some high tops and bar seating as well. The place started to fill after 6pm. Sadie was our server. She ran the bar and along with one other waited tables. She was a no nonsense professional, albeit pleasant. My husband left her a $20 tip on a $59 bill. My husband would definitely eat here again. I like a nicer ambiance with my meal. But like I have said not a deal breaker!

The place is incredibly clean, nicely decorated, and just welcoming. I was seated promptly, and my waitress recommended the Irish stew, which is what I went with. She also recommended a very tempting tasting flight, and I'm not going to admit to enjoying that while on lunch break. I'm not denying it. I'm just not admitting it. The stew was fantastic and really hearty. It warmed me up almost as much as the flight of... tea did. I couldn't resist getting dessert. The bread pudding was delicious and worth going back for on it's own.

My wife saw they had black bean soup and a pork special, so we decided to stay and were seated. Since our last visit about a year ago, they've made some changes. The seating has been updated, with a second bar added along with high-top tables and booths. The space looks very nice. Our server came over, took our drink order, and we asked for a bowl of the black bean soup. When he returned, my wife asked how the pork special was, and he said it was very good, so she ordered it. I ordered the cod fish and chips. When the food came out, everything looked good at first. Unfortunately, the fish and chips were very greasy -- it seemed like the fries were placed on the plate to soak up the grease from the fish. My wife's pork dish was worse. She was given two slices with connective tissue running through them that were so tough she couldn't even get a fork into them. The other piece was also extremely tough and difficult to cut, and the gravy had no flavor. When our server finally came back to check on us, my wife showed him the pork. His response was simply that he would let the manager know and take it off the bill. There was no offer to replace the dish or bring her something else to eat. After that, we never saw him again. My wife eventually asked another server for tea, which a different server brought. Later, another server came by to see if we were finished. I asked how much the eggnog was, and she quoted the price for a bottle, said I just want a glass, she said I'll get you a menu I explained to another waitress I just wanted a glass. Eventually, I got it -- though I asked for it without ice, and it still came with ice. At that point, I just drank it. The best thing was the bean soup. Overall, this was not a good meal and honestly the worst experience we've had in the 10+ years we've been coming here. Between the food quality and the lack of follow-up from our server, it was very disappointing. It will be quite a while before we return.
