Lice Music in back

You can find Shenanigans at 87 N Chestatee St Dahlonega, GA 30533. This is about a block down the hill from the Dahlonega downtown square - you enter on the back side of the building with the Pub found in the basement. I recently attended a wedding at Wolf Mountain Vineyards, and since I was staying in the nearby IHG/Holiday Inn Express (on the square) I stopped by Shenanigans to watch some great live music there and have a beer. As I was leaving the next day I hit the place again for lunch before hitting the road back to Atlanta. This is a pretty classic Irish Pub more suited to college students getting their buzz-on. I had been told that the food was good and surprisingly, yes the Reuben Sandwich I ordered was exceptional - juicy pile of corned beef sauteed with kraut and Russian Dressing on marbled rye. I ordered mine with a side of broccoli to maintain the semblance of eating healthy. The service was really good considering I was one of the first two people there (seating took a minute) with a great server who came by frequently to make sure my needs were met. The food came out almost instantly - less than 5 minutes after I ordered, with a steaming sandwich and veg. I plan to explore this place more the next time I'm in town.

We had a very good lunch today at Shenanigans. We started with an appetizer of bangers, which were served with grilled onions and roasted red peppers. They were quite good! I had the "Reuben of the Sea," a blackened filet of grouper in place of the usual pastrami. So delicious, and an innovated take on an old classic. My husband had the Irish stew, which he loved as well. This is a really fun, casual place near the square on Dahlonega. It definitely has a laid-back college vibe, and our server, Kai, was amazing! If you find yourself in town, give Shenanigans a try.

Server was great - Hostess was not, it was an older lady and she could have been friendlier. Food was ok - Ruben was good and so were the onion rings - but nothing special. Definitely had better Rubens before. Try the local beers on tap, they are good. Might come back just for the live music, indoor decor, and drinks.

Shenanigans food is things dreams are made of. The Potato Poppers were fresh and had just a bit of heat... not unbearable on the tongue at all. The Steak & Spuds fell in to my husband's mouth at a rapid pace that the song of Florence & The Machine's Dog Days Are Over rang out like an anthem. Their brown gravy is just. Like. my. Irish. Mother's. Impeccable and rich. My Shepherds Pie was delicious and although the cheese was a little intimidating, perfectly balanced. My Smithwick's Irish Ale was the perfect accompaniment with the food. Our server was in training. We sat outside and he and his trainer quickly approached us to take our drink order and make recommendations. They were attentive and pleasant. We wouldn't have known he was in training! The bonus is they have their own parking lot so it's easy to roll on out to your car from app the good eats!

Came downtown to do a little shopping after spending a day hiking at the Falls and had to stop by shenanigans! It's been around for years, old style charm, kind of a huge place when you walk around the whole area. Great food and beverages, but we just came for a drink and music because they were playing outside and it was breezy and not too hot so decided to stay for a couple of drinks. Although we just had drinks today, they're Reuben is fantastic, their shepherds pie is super good (can't remember if they do lay them yet, but I'm a lamb shepherds pie guy and a beef cottage pie guy) but we are in Georgia. A lot of people don't like lamb lol. Doesn't matter it tastes great. All of their burgers are great and the bangers and mash. I remember also reminded me of Ireland true to form. This place is always packed, great service great food great beer selection great craft drink selection if you're coming downtown Dahlonega stop by for a cocktail or lunch. You won't be disappointed. Highly recommend.!!

Being a St. Patty's Day baby, the decorations created the best ambiance asa we hit the door! Then to be greeted by the friendly staff - ALL OF THEM - raised the bar! THEN! The food was delicious; hot and tasty. We tried the fish and chips.. the cole slaw was on point, and the lemon basil wings. The drinks were the bonus to the celebration!

Came here and I was so surprised I haven't left a review yet. I have been coming here for years and every time I visit I leave with such a huge smile on my face. Whether you want to sit outdoors or indoors both options are great and the decoration makes you feel comfortable the moment you sit down. I ordered the crack sausage dip which is always fresh and I highly recommend. For my entree I was feeling the signature Sheppard pie and it was so amazing. It was seasoned to perfection and the toast adds the right crunch and texture to make this so succulent. The service wasn't the best however they were so packed I didn't mind our waitress stopping every 10-15 minutes on refills haha. Anyways definitely come try this place out. There may be a wait on weekends but it's 100% worth the wait and visit.

Shenanigans is located in downtown dahlonega. We only stopped for drinks but they were tasty and welcome on a hot day. It's a longtime staple just off the main square. Always a good crowd inside and out. Large patio and live music usually set up in the parking lot. Service is small town friendly serving typical bar fare. Prices are not too gougy given its proximity to tourist town, but it is on the fringes of UNG so I think they try to cater to both groups which makes sense.

Fish and chips with fried sampler

I visited on a Friday night while they were serving their late menu. They seated me on a outdoor side patio because they didn't have tables inside, but I would have preferred to be inside. The wind was so strong there was a Red Flag warning in effect. While I was sitting there, the wind caught the umbrella of a table next to me and flipped it over, and I was lucky it didn't hit me. I had to position my drink next to a post to ensure the wind didn't take my straw away. And needless to say, it was cold and poorly lit out there. Service was friendly and adequate. Getting a refill and later getting my check was a bit of a wait. Being a college town, I was surrounded by young students that were yelling and cursing and trying to out-do each other, but I guess that's the vibe for this dive. I had the sampler appetizer and the fries were perfectly crisp and wonderfully seasoned and the savory brown gravy for dipping was tasty. The onion rings were decent although there ketchup squeeze bottles weren't fresh and were turning into vinegar. The house made chips were also perfect. My entree of fish & ships were decent portions. But it was overly greasy and where it sat on the fries, all the fries below were mushy with the puddle of grease. It's a shame because the fish and batter would have been good otherwise. And their tartar sauce is really good and seems to be house made. The ramekin of slaw was also very good.

Shenanigans is not to be missed! Especially on St Patrick's Day! Music outside and excellent corned beef and cabbage inside! Service, in spite of it being super busy was fast. Usually get Shepherds Pie, but today, stuck with tradition!

The burger and tater tots were also very good. The menu offers a wide variety of specialty burgers with plenty of customization options, including grass-fed beef for a small upcharge. Fair prices for the quality and quantity of food--definitely left in a food coma. Service: Service was efficient and the food came out well-prepared. No major issues during the visit. Atmosphere: Located in downtown Dahlonega, making it easy to explore nearby shops and dessert spots before or after your meal. What a great idea! I had forgotten how original and traditional the meals are, we were able to walk in with no reservation and get seated within 10 minutes where we all proceeded to order drinks and for me, Guinness! We started with a few pretzels with the beer cheese, which were fantastic. Then I was craving the Reuben, which was better than I even remembered. Not massively big but some of the best flavored meat I've had in a Reuben in a while. You can tell they cook it themselves and it was really super! Rest of the family bangers and mash and a lot of fish and chips, which is something they are known for. Great service, excellent cocktails, and the food was spot on. Massive truffle fries (called chips but more like logs lol), don't sleep on the Gouda Mac and cheese, farmer fresh sliced squash and my meal, the 12oz steak on a bed of Peruvian mash potato's with shiitake mushrooms rounded out with asparagus. We started with their Bread plate, a nice serving of fresh bread and a good start while waiting for our meal. There was no break in my serving and it was not a traditional B&T. After giving the concise menu a look, I opted for the Fish and chips and a side of their Gouda and mac. Fish and Chips, Haddock, whole potato wedges tartar and ketchup with a lemon wedge. The fish was prepared very well, the potatoes like home style and the mac and cheese very good, rich creamy and tasty. The Haddock was a nice large filet, breaded lightly and tender. A good meal.
