4.5 Stars First visit to this quaint restaurant which specializes in German, Swiss, and Eastern European cuisine. The staff was so friendly, the ambiance authentically German, and the food was quite tasty. Overall, a very good experience. Desiree waited on us, and she couldn't have been more accommodating to our many questions about the menu. The service was wonderful. Even the owner stopped by to chat, including speaking with my mom and me in German, which really made her day. FOOD: Lots of favorites on the menu. Of course we tried the wursts. I ordered a Sampler Platter ($17) with a Thüringer Bratwurst, a Currywurst, and a Nürnberger Bratwurst. I asked for some German mustard, and there was a $0.60 charge for that. We also tried the Jäegerschnitzel (single $12, or two for $19), smothered in brown gravy and mushrooms. For the sides, we tried the Sauerkraut, the German Potato Salad, and the Spatzle. One of the "Daily Specials" was a Hungarian Goulash served in a bread bowl. It looked good, so I asked if I could try a spoonful, and they were generous enough to serve me a small bowl. I kid you not when I say it was the best Goulash I've ever had, and I've had a lot, including the real deal in Hungary. We finished off our lunch by sharing a piece of the Black Forest Cake ($6.50). We would definitely stop in again when visiting the wine country. I highly recommend you give Bratzeit a try.

This is a cute hole-in-the-wall family diner with an outdoor dog-friendly patio. Across from the Domino's, this place is a bit hidden when going west on Memorial Drive. But look for the unassuming building with the giant sausage on the sign. I ordered the Fleischkäse with pretzel and fries and devoured it. Simple and flavorful, and absolutely delicious. Others at the table went for the Jägerschnitzel and cleaned their plates. We ordered a round of tasty apple strudels for dessert. The service is super friendly and welcoming. The only downside I would say is that if you want the fondue or raclette, you will need to plan and call ahead. Otherwise, we left the place full and happy!

This is a gem in North Georgia. We had a spat of rainy weather over the weekend and on a Sunday, the clouds were clearing and we decided to head to Dahlonega, GA. We found this place on Yelp and it had some great reviews. This is some authentic German food. The staff was amazing. The food was amazing. We had the potato cakes and pretzel as appetizers and we gobbled that up! There were four of us in our party. This is a small place and it filled up for lunch. The ambiance is local. Even if crowded, you can carry on conversations. We ordered the Jagerschnitzel and the 3 sausage sampler. That gave us a good tasting a lot of their stuff. Awesome flavor and I now have leftovers for lunch tomorrow. We also finished with the Apple strudel. Please note it takes 17 minutes to prepare the Apple Strudel. Order it when you get your meal. It is worth it! Love this place. If you are looking for some awesome German food, stop here.

Great place to stop in for some German food and beer! Be sure to get the giant pretzel too! Fast and friendly service!

After eating some delicious German food yesterday, we were left with craving another pretzel so we found Bratzeit close to where we were staying. Their giant pretzel was warm, soft and perfectly salted. What we didn't enjoy was the cold cheese. The mustard was stone ground and strong. It was nice with the pretzel. We also tried the red cabbage and the potato cakes. The cabbage was delicious, a great combination of sweet and sour. The potato cakes were small crispy medallions served with apple sauce and sour cream. So good! Service was top notch! They were friendly and helpful above and beyond! They even came outside to take out picture with the cutouts when they saw we needed help.

The burger and tater tots were also very good. The menu offers a wide variety of specialty burgers with plenty of customization options, including grass-fed beef for a small upcharge. Fair prices for the quality and quantity of food--definitely left in a food coma. Service: Service was efficient and the food came out well-prepared. No major issues during the visit. Atmosphere: Located in downtown Dahlonega, making it easy to explore nearby shops and dessert spots before or after your meal. The tavern has a darker, eclectic vibe with artwork, punk music, and a slightly edgy feel. The décor fits the restaurant's origins and personality, though the lighting--including in the restrooms--is quite dim. Parking downtown can be somewhat difficult during busy times.

I asked for some Tabasco sauce to help make the sandwich more palatable to eat, instead of being brought a bottle like most restaurants would give you they gave me a condiment cup full of Tabasco sauce, too much for anyone to use. When the bill came for an extra 50 Cent charge for it, I didn't fight it because it was 50 Cent and I just wanted to leave, but it was frustrating. I've never been charged for condiments / hot sauce at a restaurant I'm giving two stars because the server was nice and patient while we figured out what my little one needed to order she had to come back to the table a couple times, but they should have mentioned the surcharge for the hot sauce at the time that I requested it. Would I come back here again for a meal, no. Would I consider coming back to try a cocktail, maybe, only because overheard the bartender speaking to some patrons quite passionately about the flavors which they put together so I would give this part. Another chance even though the kitchen has lost my confidence,

This time we came after hiking all day and sat outside with our dogs. Ambiance-touristy Irish pub. It's a big place that still tries to be Irish-ish. They fail but it's a worthwhile effort and people seem to like it. One issue with the design-it's a huge place but they have 2-single person bathrooms-one next to the bar and one on the second floor. I don't even understand how you get a building permit with that occupancy and so few bathrooms. My wife and I each got a burger, sub veggie patty. They are getting 2 stars for the fact they don't upcharge for the vegan patty. Everyone upcharges for a veggie burger, so this is an impressive give-a-way to customers. However, I added mushrooms and roasted red peppers, which added $2 each, and gluten free sandwich bread, which was a $5 upcharge. First, those veggies should not be a $2 upcharge each. That's obnoxious. Your menu burgers have toppings and are cheaper than a plain burger with 2 veggies. But, I am not taking stars away for the upcharge. I saw them, I accepted them. My problem is that with those changes, this was a $25 burger at an Irish pub in north GA and it tasted like a $5 burger from an Irish pub in north GA. It was dry, unseasoned, and very bland. You charged me $5 for 2 slices of bread from a loaf that costs $7.99 retail. A red pepper is $0.75 cents, maybe, retail, and for a couple teaspoons you charged me $2. Who knows what mushrooms cost, but the point is, for two toppings and sub 2 slices of sandwich bread, you charged me for a high-end steakhouse burger and served me a terrible backyard grill burger. On top of that, I ordered a whiskey (knob creek) on the rocks. On my check was a $2 rocks charge. So...you charged me $2 for ice? It makes no sense. It's the same amount of liquor. When I asked the server about it, she said because they pour an extra 2 ounces in. Obviously she lied because she had no clue what she was talking about. First, why would adding ice equal and extra 2 ounces? Maybe if I asked for an up martini or something, but I am adding volume, so why would you also add liquor? Second, my whiskey was $13 and a restaurant shot is 1, maybe 1.5 ounces. Do you really mean to tell me you gave me an extra 2 shots, maybe an extra 1.33 shots of a $13 liquor for $2 only because I asked for ice? I'm not an idiot. So, poor food, lying service, and unreasonable upcharges. I'm not coming back

I have visited Montaluce Winery and Estates many times over the years, but I've always been on the move, never quite able to pause and soak in the full experience. This past weekend, while celebrating my birthday, my friends and I decided to change that. After a refreshing hike through the stunning property, we finally made time to stop in and it was everything I hoped it would be. The moment you step inside, you are transported. The interior aesthetics are absolutely gorgeous. There is a distinct, charming, and "campy" vibe that feels incredibly rustic and upscale at the same time. The taxidermy animals mounted on the walls add such a unique, authentic touch to the space. It's the kind of place you just don't find in chain restaurants. There is just something about a good wood-fired pizza that is unmatched. You can taste the quality and the craft in every bite. I ordered the classic Margherita pizza, and it was exactly what I needed after hiking. It was fresh, bubbly, and perfectly charred. To round out the meal, I paired my pizza with a glass of their signature apple wine. It was the perfect crisp accompaniment to the meal, capturing the essence of the Georgia mountains. Surrounded by real friends who truly celebrate you is a blessing within itself, and Trattoria di Montaluce provided the perfect backdrop for our birthday festivities. It's the kind of place where time slows down, allowing you to actually connect and enjoy the company you're with. If you find yourself finishing a day of wine tasting and hiking, and you think you might not have room for a full pizza, do not let that stop you! Order it anyway and take it home. Your future self will absolutely thank you for that delicious, wood-fired treat the next day. Whether you are a local or just visiting the North Georgia mountains, make sure the Trattoria at Montaluce is on your itinerary. It is a quintessential experience that I am so glad I finally carved out the time to enjoy. #DahlonegaEats #Montaluce #WoodFiredPizza #GeorgiaWineries #YelpElite #BirthdayCelebration #AshSaidIt #NorthGeorgiaLiving #ItalianDining #FoodieLife
