Our waiter was extremely helpful in guiding us through the menu which is a bit tricky and the manager Jesse was very friendly and stopped by to see how everything was during our meal. The potatoes were great and so were the fries! The oysters so i am told by another smember of our party were very clean and not gritty at all. Total sports bar. Really one of the most unappealing places to eat. Food was mediocre. Fries came but some where hot, some cold, and some warm. Makes me think they recycled.them. If you' re going to a game and want to grab a brew it may be OK just don't eat there. read more

So last night my fc and I went to the Shell Shack in Arlington, Tx.. I have visited this restaurant several times maybe twice a week at times....So it is safe to say this was a favorite of mine.....However on last night 4/04/2017 that was the worst experience ever....I mean last night was worst than the night the fight broke out & my dates girlfriend showed up while we were praying over our food (LOL!!!!!.....that's a story for a different site) So we place our order & my food comes and the seasoning was all wrong, it was a lil spicy & in addition to that....they gave me two little bitty clusters, So needless to say I'm disappointed so I call my waitress over & tell her I'm not going to pay 18.00 for this & send it back the manager brings it back says yes they fail in giving me the 1lb of crab legs & they did give me the kitchen sink seasoning...So he takes it back rinses off the crab legs add another little bitty cluster and bring it back...Yes, I took it, but only because I'm in Arlington & I'm black and I would have been viewed as a hostile customer not that the restaurant gave me some little bitty crab legs they rinsed off & reseasoned....So I was very disappointed in the Shell Shack Arlington Tx location....But wait I posted a pic and comment on their site last night and they blocked me from posting anymore.....WOW!!!!!!......Talk about censorship.....Freedom of speech when it's only in your favor.....Share your truth when we look good....Ok Shell Shack..... read more

On March 2nd I placed an online order for pickup at the Shell Shack in Arlington. That was the start of the worst restaurant experience I've ever had in my life. When I got home from Shell Shack I noticed the broccoli in my order was missing when I opened the chicken wings they were over seasoned. Each of the wings appeared to have layers of season on the chicken. It was too much. When I called the Shell Shack back that evening I sat on hold before being told by Corey Williams that they could not remake the broccoli and chicken at that time and they could make it the next day considering the kitchen was closed. I stated if I have to wait til tomorrow I mine as well have the entire order remade and I'd bring the food back. He refused stating he was only willing to give the broccoli and chicken regardless. I asked was there a corporate office. He said yes press prompt 6 when I call the same number user to contact them. This was not true prompt 6 sent me to the Fort Worth location. Nonetheless I was able to get ahold of corporate. The Corporate office collected my information and got my side of what happened. I got a voicemail from Shelby that they could only replace the broccoli and give a free desert. I was not pleased with that resolution. First of all she didn't mention anything about the chicken and a free desert doesn't nearly amount to what I spent in total on the order ($37.88). I called Shelby back to express my dissatisfaction with her solution and Shelby hung up in my face. I called back to speak to Shelby again to inquire if I still would be getting my refund for the broccoli and chicken. I spoke with Erica asking for a supervisor she refused to give me one saying Shelby was the highest ranked that I could speak to. I got frustrated and asked what is wrong with these people. Because nobody was willing to help me. She then hung up in my face. I called back and was told that I have a bad attitude and I'm being rude and disrespectful. Nothing about what I said was rude or disrespectful. And I didn't have a bad attitude. Those are words used to make black ppl look aggressive so that it seems understandable for those companies to not render us proper customer service because we're "hard to work with" or "problematic". I definitely believe I was discriminated against by Shelby and Erica. They could hear in my deeper voice that I was a black woman and decided I didn't deserve their upmost satisfactory customer service. I kept trying to call back to inquire about my refund and they are now refusing to even answer my call. So now I have to call my bank to dispute the charge. read more

Went to Arlington Shell Shack to celebrate a B'day last Sunday evening, a party of 5. Right out of gate everything went very well. The Hostess was very nice and our Server Kati was very attentive and personable. We so enjoyed and very much appreciated the exceptional service she provided. The restaurant is very spacious and roomy. We started with dinner and Caesar Salads, Delicious and generous portions. Then came the appetizers: 1 order Hush Puppies and 1 order of Crab Cake nuggets, those Vanished in about 2 minutes! Maybe? Then the Entree: We ordered two mild kitchen sink boils to share with mild heat. One was 1 Lb of Snow Crab, 1 Lb of Shrimp and sausage with potatoes and 2 Corn on the Cob (a must have !) Just Sayin'! The other was just Shrimp, Potatoes and Corn on Cob. Also did 1 order of Fried Shrimp and Fries which were very tasty, but a bit more zesty than anticipated. We had plenty of time to finish our salads and finger foods before our food came to the table. Which was great! The food was well prepared though warm,not hot for us to enjoy. Which we did. So I really like the food at shell shack but the customer service needs a little work. We were seated promptly but no one came to serve us. We had to go to the hostess to get our server. When we were ready to leave our server was MIA again and we had to go track her down. To start off, walking in it was a great atmosphere. Host greeted us and seated us quick. We ordered 2 dozen oysters and gumbo to start off. Gumbo came out as tasted like they poured a bucket of salt into it. My oysters came shortly after, which looked okay. A few good-sized ones, but their were some that were exceptionally small. Whoever shucked the oysters must have been in a rush because their were pieces of the oyster shell still stuck in the meat. It doesn't seem like they wash some, and some had no texture. We also ordered 3 dozen fried oysters which took 45 minutes to come out. The place wasn't busy at all so this was exceptionally too long. Oysters tastes like they're only battered in corn meal, no salt no seasoning. I'm not sure if they all taste this way but there is no flavor. Also, the Dungeness crab legs and shrimp are not seasoned. With all their seasonings it look greats, but there is no flavor whatsoever. The atmosphere here is nice. Also, Hope (our server) was very attentive and sweet. That is the only reason for my two stars. I do not plan on returning to this establishment. read more

Never again. I can't figure out what kind of place this is supposed to be and neither can they it seems. Is it a sports bar with bar food? Not exactly. Is it an an upscale seafood house? I went back for the first time in about nine months. Slight disappointment. The food was great, as usual, but as expected, I felt like for$60, there should have been more meat (2 Bairdi. I use to order one w shrimp and have some left. The shrimp used to be jumbo when I first went, but I stop getting the shrimp once they got normal size, something you can get from Albertson's) The bartender who handled my to go order was really upbeat, and had great energy, however the young woman who was talking to him that worked there as well, acted as if I was interrupting her mack to the bartender when I asked for paper to-go by not even looking to acknowledge me like I stole from her. Dry and cold. Also when I walked in with my two-year-old asleep in my arms, nobody greeted me, nobody acknowledged me, and for that price for one $60 crab (1/2 Bairdi X2) The overall experience matters. I've been treated better upon entering a dining area at long John silver's and getting crab cakes. So here's what I'm giving it three stars, the engagement that I did half from the bartender handling the order was great, the food was good, but not $60 worth of crab in my opinion. Anybody who has been to shell shack since 2016 probably can agree. Please educate your waiters on basic customer service skills key to all businesses . The steamed shrimp, crawfish and crabs Meg's are what my boyfriend & I ordered, one pound of each. It was all so DELICIOUS!!! The season is perfect!! They give you a choice of how spicy you want it to be and we went with "Hot" on everything it sure lived up to that lol! Everything was so tender and juicy! I would definitely recommend my friends and family to come here! The only complaint I have is the butter did not really have a flavor to be but that's okay there was plenty of flavor from the seasonings... Always loved this place and would enjoy for a treat. Had a rough week and tough Friday so we decided to go to Shell Shack. All was fine and then we heard what sounded like an auctioneer or the commentator for horse race. We learned it was a boom box from the kitchen. We asked they turn down the volume. They did. And then just TURNED IT BACK UP. We moved to the back room where is was much quieter, but, my wife came back saying she thinks she was given visine in her drink because she immediately became ill. I didn't eat my meal and I left the waiter a good tip because he was doing his best to help. I will never step foot in that place again. read more

I tried the oysters, boiled shrimp and crawfish. Oysters were a 9/10. So fresh and plump. Worth the $16 a dozen. Crawfish was great in size but the flavor didn't soak through to the tail meat. It was a little salty instead of flavorful. I'll have to stick with Crawfish Hut for flavorful crawfish. The boiled shrimp was also great in size and flavorful on it's own. But shrimp is salt water so it's harder to mess up shrimp. Waitress was pretty busy but still very attentive. I would come back for the oysters and shrimp. Maybe I'll try the crab next time. Spoke with a person by the name of Tricia( probably wasn't her real name) Said the kitchen was closing and no longer taking to go orders that night. This place was awesome!! Me and My friend came here on a whim and we were not disappointed. First, we were greeted warmly at the door and seated immediately. Jose was our server and he made sure we were taken care of. Once we told him that it was our first time, he took the time to sit with us and explain EVERYTHING!! He talked about the different types of crab they offered, the taste, the texture. He described the seasonings (we did the kitchen sink) and even made drink suggestions. He was a delightful individual with a sparkling personality and he made our experience fun and memorable. AND The food was outstanding! We had the shrimp and Bairdi crab with potatoes and corn, plus we had the fried oysters on the half shell. The seafood was fresh and superbly cooked. We are seafood snobs and this is probably one of the best casual places we've been to. What set our dining experience apart from any other place we have visited, was the customer service. I believe that other restaurants should come and study Shell Shack's customer service model. In the time we were there, not only was our FABULOUS host Jose uber attentive, two managers came by to speak to us and make sure we were having a great time. We were spoiled silly! If I could give this place zero stars I would. We had a party of 10 and one server so I expected a little delay, but the young guy that was our server took our order pretty quickly which was nice, didn't write anything down but he repeated the order perfectly so we didn't have any concerns. We didn't see him for about 30 minutes after we ordered but when the larger parties that were next to us got their food before ours I started to look for our server. When I caught up with him he said the food would be right out, waited another 10 minutes and he brought out 4 of he dishes, then headed back to get more. Few minutes later he returned with the crab legs and 1/2 pound of shrimp, after almost an hour my 8 year old son and teenage niece still hadn't gotten their chicken strips, yes chicken strips. After another 10 minutes the guy finally brings them their plates, except it was only fries, he said they were "behind" on chicken strips. After this the manager walked by to ask about service to which my wife explained everything that happened, her remedy for the situation was to offer to bring out more baskets of fries. I told her it wasn't necessary and that it would just be a waste of food, they just wanted the strips they had ordered over an hour prior, the lady still brought out the extra fries anyway ‍‍ this is the first review bad or good I've ever left on Yelp, but it is warranted. This place sucks, and after all this the manager never came back to say sorry for the mixup or anything, no wonder the service is poor with that type of leadership. I was skeptical because of the 3 star (at the time of this) review. Our server was Dominick. We had drinks at the bar while waiting, I had a Temptress stout (bottle) and he had a Shock Top draft. We have never been to a place like this where you crack open your own meal. My boyfriend and I shared 1lb of the King Crab, kitchen sink flavor (recommended), medium hotness, and a plate of 8 fried shrimp and fries. We shared a bowl of gumbo for our appetizer. Shell Shack was actually a second choice. After seeing Joe's New menu and being underwhelm we meandered over to Shell Shack. My high expectations of the Uptown location were exceeded by Holly. Wonderful recommendations were backed up by impeccable service from the bar, kitchen, and waitstaff. I'm extremely impressed by the teamwork of the hostesses and even saw the General Manager Mike getting involved. If I could take Holly to every tester aunt to be my server I would. I was going to give this place a 1 star but I had cat fish and it was pretty good.. Only thing is they have two different flavors and I guess the one I got was 2$ more which i didn't know.. This establishment needs an overhaul from management to the kitchen staff. I decided to take my 9-year-old daughter and my family out to dinner for her birthday. As soon as I arrived, I was only watched from the door never greeted for 5 minutes. As I began to look around, I was alarmed. It was so dirty and unkempt that I was disgusted. I began to walk out of the door and the manager, Karen, met me and said she would sit me but needed about 15 mins to clean fix the short staff issue. I was assured things would be fine, so I sat in the rear of the restaurant( so that they could clean the interior) only to be forgotten about for 20 mins. We eventually moved seats to the inside because of the wait, and finally placed our drink and food order at once. Our drink order took 20 mins alone. I would constantly have to get up to place an order or find someone to help our table.We felt so forgotten about and disregarded. By the time the food came, we were starving. The crab legs and crawfish weren't cooked all the way thru and everything tasted rushed and over salted. We were told they were making a shift with the kitchen and at this point, we were in a rush to leave. My daughter was exhausted and it ruined her bday at her favorite place to eat. We were there for over 2 hours for an experience that should not have taken so long. Furthermore, the restaurant never was "cleaned" the manager Karen could not help remedy anything. This was the worst experience I had ever had at a restaurant and honestly, the shell shack in Dallas is better and functions much better than the Arlington one. I will never patron this location again. I would appreciate it if someone from corporate would contact me. I was told the only way to remedy this was to make a yelp review. read more
