I love Shell Shack and I can literally spend hours at the Uptown Dallas location eating and having drinks it's always a great time. This is my second time at the Arlington location. Monday night not busy at all. At first the waitresses looked lost with a few orders guess they don't have their table numbers down. Shrimp came out cold, I couldn't tell the difference between the pound of hot and the pound of medium they were both bland. Bowl of gumbo was watered down with one teaspoon of rice on top. Ordered mild wings and they were too spicy even for my so for my for my son I had to return them and ask for lemon pepper. I would rather drive over 30 minutes for the uptown location and I live down the street from this one in Arlington. read more

Went to Shell Shack on Tuesday for my husbands birthday. He had the crawfish and potatoes. He said it was amazing. My kids also enjoyed the food plus all the chalkboards on the walls. Our waiter was great. He was on top of everything making sure my husband had a great birthday dinner. The manager Jesse came over to check on our table, he was very nice and also wished my husband a happy birthday. I would definitely go back again and very soon. read more

Fun place to eat, and they serve great food. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful, this was our first visit and she took the time to explain everything. My wife and I chose to share a pound of shrimp with cajun seasoning and had sides of potatoes and corn. It was outstanding! I had high hopes for this place. Walking in it was clean, had good music playing, someone greeting us right away and we were seating within seconds. We didn't wait long for anything except our ticket was a bit of the wait at the end. Once seated someone came and greeted us again said our waitress would be with us shortly as she was currently busy and she took our drink order. Our waitress Ayanna is the only reason why I gave this review 2 stars instead of one. If I could give her rating alone she would get 5 stars. She was so nice and sweet. She was very fast but didn't seem rushed. When giving our bibs she put them on for us. Very attentive. Anyways on to the food. We ordered a boil platter, in kitchen sink, medium heat. It just didn't compare to other boils I've had. The "sauce" was very thick to the point were there was a grittiness when you would eat the seafood. It was so salty that you couldn't really notice any flavor and the shrimp was overcooked. The crab stuffed tator tots were just not to my liking nothing wrong with them in general just not what I expected. It's basically mashed potato with a little crab shaped into a tator tot and fried. It was Eh to me. Nothing special. Desert was carrot cake. Now this was my first time trying carrot cake so I don't really have anything to compare it to but again nothing special. Nothing wowed me here and the whole family was very disappointed in the boil. For the price we paid I didn't expect everything to be a flop. The best thing I had here were the hushpuppies that come with the boil. Won't be coming back. I'll stick to my regular seafood boil spot. read more

Not as good as the one in uptown Dallas. I order 1lb of shrimp and snow crab. Unlike the Dallas location my shrimp were not deveined. In addition, the kitchen sink flavor was not the same. I now know to only go to the uptown location. Also, I called in my order and had to wait 10 mins for assistance when I got there. Totally different service as well. read more

Great staff! They accommodated 12 of us during a 4th of July Holiday weekend. Service was fast and fun! The food and drinks were awesome! First off let me say I got the king crab legs and they were worth every penny! I don't get seafood often and when I do I want to really enjoy it so King was the way to go. They were big and meaty and not too hard to get into. The sauce was spicy and messy just the way I like to. I won't comment on my service because that's not as important as them king crab legs. First visit was last night and I loved it. The food was delicious and seasoned very well. The prices weren't bad, average for almost any other seafood place depending on what you order. Our waiter, Jose, was amazing. He was very personable and stopped by to check on us enough to make sure we had all we needed but he wasn't overbearing and stopping by every 2 minutes. We went after 7 on a Saturday night so there was a large crowd. We waited about 20 minutes for a table for 2 but the time seemed to fly by, so it was no big deal. The taste of the food will definitely make any wait seem irrelevant. I ordered shrimp, sausage, and potatoes. Be sure to try the "kitchen sink" seasoning on whatever you order. That stuff is incredible!! The atmosphere is really cool and inviting so dress comfortable and be ready for a great time. Overall, great first impression!! read more

Horrible service!! The wings came out very quick and VERY COLD. The wings had to be sent back. We requested that the fries be brought back with wings. Who wants to eat cold french fries with hot wings? The server told us that we could not get the fries and wings at the same time. We requested to speak to the manager. Stopped in for the second time in two months. My experience was the same each time in terms of wait staff and service; great! The crab legs and shrimp are in a boil bag, which they bring out and open at your table. We chose the mild Cajun seasoning, which was just right for us. The first time, we had the snow crabs with an additional order of shrimp. Today, I had two pounds of the king crab legs. All plates each time were good, but I was expecting bigger King crab legs. A nice touch is that they have a machine which you stick your hands in, and it rinses off all the seasonings! I still take the extra step to wash with soap and water. Went on a Sunday night around 7:30. Figured the food must be good since there was a bit of a wait. Went to the bar to have some drinks. Bartender seemed busy and stressed and wasn't very attentive. He didn't offer or put salt on my Margarita. Bartender also took it upon himself to keep the coin change when we paid cash for our drinks, which I think is a little rude and presumptuous. After about 20 minutes, we realized we couldn't hear the names being called by the hostess, so I went to check on our place in line. They told me they had already called us and they were quick to get us a table. It would be nice though if they checked the bar area before moving on... Once we were seated it took awhile for our waitress to greet us. Her name was Amanda. She was very friendly and helpful. Food was good. A little on the pricey side compared to Joe's Crab shack. We ordered dessert, which was brought to the table next to us. They didn't question it and began eating it, so we assumed they had ordered one too. Finally someone asked if we had ordered dessert and that it must have been delivered to the wrong table. Our waitress apologized and was quick to correct it. However, I feel our dessert should have been comped. The ya me next to us ate our free dessert and we had to wait longer. Our should have been free too. Very busy. Food was good. Overpriced. The service was great! Our server was cheerful and took great care of us. I had the fried catfish and it was great! My husband had fried shrimp and though it was good, it wasn't great. We shared fried oysters that were very good and clam chowder that was very good. The only downside was the noise level. I have been craving shell shack since we left, over two months ago!!! I am a crab fiend and so far, this is the only place in DFW that truly "hit the spot". Joe's is hit or miss but have been skimping on the amount of crab they give you, shell shack gives u the exact amount ordered AND their crab just seems overall better quality with bigger, juicier sizes of meat compared to competitors. In all fairness, have not yet tried the boiling crab, but I think shell shack would be hard to beat. I visit the Shell Shack in Dallas often and Love it. Tonight my family and I met at the one in Arlington and it was the worst food and service I have ever experienced. Our appetizers came out cold. We sent them back and they came out cold again. We asked for condiments and our food was gone before we received them. All of the seafood was overcooked and so was the corn. We ordered side veggies and never received them despite reminding the waitress. The hush puppies were ice cold and the French fries were more like French nubs. We spoke to the manager, Vanessa and she was very unapologetic and the least bit interested. This was the worst $300 ever spent on dinner. read more
