This Shell is ALWAYS more expensive. Get it if you are desperate but dang it's always so dependable on being expensive! If you can go to any gas station on the pike it will be cheaper. read more

I went inside and paid for gas. Immediately after I paid, the entire system at the station went down. I was unable to pump gas. I asked for a refund, they said the money would come back automatically. I asked for proof that the transaction had been voided. They told me all they could give me was a receipt. I showed up the next morning with my husband. An attendant told me that I just had to wait but in the meantime I should call my bank and gave me a customer service number to call. I called the customer service number, the rep told me they were supposed to issue me a refund. I reported that location. I called the station and told them if am not issued a refund, I will be calling the police. I showed up to the station, all of a sudden... a refund is possible! The attendant said he was able to do some accounting and see that there was a discrepancy and that the transaction HAD NOT been voided like he said it was. So if I had just waited like they said, my money would be lost and the incident forgotten. Always get a receipt, always get proof of what they say or you will get scammed. People work entirely too hard for their money to play these types of games. read more

I live in Frederick MD, and compared to stations located there, this station commits highway robbery on its customers. Today at the Sheetz Station on Rt. 85, unleaded gas is $3.05 per gallon. (12/19/2022). I can be sure that this station is about $3.49 or higher. Yes, it is located all of 50 yards from I-270 exits, and sure, Rockville is a "higher rent district" than Frederick. But I'd sure like to have that fifty cents a gallon difference in my piggy bank. I suppose the owner enjoys it as well. He is much more expensive than many stations along Rockville Pike. I'm happy to not frequent this station. read more

I have needed my tires plugged about 4 times in the past year! Every time I come here they take me in right away and fix it and I'm out in about 10 minutes or less. They are so quick and fairly priced! I am really happy with my services here !!!! I will keep back to get my tires fixed here! read more

I asked for someone to check my oil level because the oil is 0/5W and is almost completely clear and hard to determine the proper level. When I asked the mechanic at the station if he could just look at it, he said "I'm busy." No alternative option. Poor customer service. read more

We've been going to this Shell for THIRTY YEARS. Because we live up the street. We've always had good service despite a revolving door of employees there. My husband made an appointment for Saturday morning for a tune up. His schedule is busy.....he went there and was told by the mechanic that today is his PAGAN HOLIDAY and he can't do any work. Huh??. My tire was flat and would not hold air for long. I stopped at shell and immediately the service man checked out my tire, noticed what was "stuck" in the tire and shared with me the plan to remove the item and fix the tire. Within 20 minutes I was on the road again with a tire filled appropriately with air and only paid $25. I will definitely go back! read more

Working nearby, I have long been eyeing this Shell's car-repair shop as a potential place to drop in for an oil change. However, an urgency (if not quite emergency) brought me to this location sooner: I got a flat. Well, more like a near flat as one of my tires kept losing air so I drove the short distance to see a mechanic...any mechanic. The staff quickly took in my metalic baby and treated her well. Within an hour or so (may have been sooner but I went back to work), she came back with a patched tire. However, this is not what I found most impressive. A gentleman who seemed like the owner or manager indicated that he heard a weird noise in moving the vehicle that I didn't even recognize prior to his taking the time to point it out. Turns out that some gadget that keeps my engine from being catapulted is wearing and while this isn't a drop-everything emergency, this wear will only get worse. Although I did not pursue the repair that day, this information was totally appreciated--it may have taken me a while to recognize the issue and this part would have only been wearing out further. I have filled up my tank here several times (very conveniently located). But yesterday, I really needed an oil change and so thought I'd give it a try. I used them to repair a tire and thought they were forthright. I sent my elderly mother-in-law there to repair a tire and rim on her Camry. She returned with a $500 + bill. Apparently its OK to rip off old ladies at Woodmont Shell. Not only were the prices higher than average she had the "extra" charges like new wiper blades and a $20 inspection charge. Note, I just changed her blades myself and did she have to pay $20 for the privilege of getting extra charges? read more

Worst place ever !!!. Chris Shaffer who runs the service center is unfortunately solely motivated by profits. Took my car for MD safety inspection and they painstaking identified flaws with my car and handed me stiff bill. When I asked about the MD Regulations they could not show me any document or written standards and said that they just go by experience. STAY AWAY!!! read more

My car started making a terrible scraping noise on a windy day when I was on 270. The station is located on Rt. 28 not too far off 270 and I stopped there to see if someone could take a look at it. Carlos was able to help me right away. We took a short test drive so he could hear the noise. (Of course the noise mostly stopped during the test drive, but it did do it a little!) Carlos was very polite and professional and did not treat me like I was imagining things. He put it on the lift and found the problem. The housing behind the radiator area had come loose and was rubbing on the tire. It was a very windy day and it was worse when the wind was blowing. He showed me exactly where and what and how he tightened it up to fix it. He did suggest some other work that should be done but not related to this problem. However he did so in a very nice way with no high pressure to get it done immediately or even to have it done there. Fifty bucks and I was on my way. Didn't even take more than 30-40 minutes. I was very pleased that he was able to take care of it so easily! read more

I ended up paying a total of $146.78 at Merchant's After I brought my vehicle to repair a punctured tire at this Shell location located 1250 W Montgomery Ave, Rockville, MD 20850. After having the tire repaired, my wife and I had discovered that it had been slowly deflating. After only two days, the tire had needed air again. When I removed the tire and searched it for leaks, it was to my deep surprise that the leak turned out to originate from where the mechanic had inserted a plug. As I cleaned the leak area, I furthermore discovered that the plug was not fully inserted into the tire as it was covering a screw embedded in the tire. At this point, even with the screw removed, the damage done to the tire was far too great for any hopes of repair. I had explained the situation to the service manager, Eric, and he had reconciled this issue by saying that "everyone makes mistakes". He apologized and offered to refund me $24.99 labor charges. What a pleasure to be able to write this review for the Woodmont Shell in Rockville.We moved into this neighborhood in the 70's and knew the original owners of the station. They serviced our cars for many,many years.After the station was sold,we were not happy with the service and went elsewhere.We heard that the station was under new management and wanted to try it again because of the convenience and being able to support the neighborhood.Just recently we needed a new battery .We took it to the station and they replaced it. We were very pleased with the new management and the services provided.We needed an oil change and filter,so we went back.Again,excellent service! The technician discovered a slight leak and recommended that a seal be replaced...how lucky was that!!!We will be having the job done this week. The prices are very fair,customer service is excellent and all repairs have been done to our complete satisfaction and timely!!! We highly recommend Woodmont Shell for all of your car needs.
