I cannot speak more highly of this shop. I took my car there for some repairs. They did an amazing job at the repairs and even cleaned the inside of the car for me. Last week, I had an issue with locking keys in my car. They truly went 100% ABOVE AND BEYOND to help me out. They walked with me to my car, tried to get me into my car and even drove me home to see if I had keys. They suggested a locksmith and this solved the issue. Wow! Great service, great guys. Of course it was just a simple patch job for one of my tires but I've been through the process before and these guys make it easy and do a great job! Came by with my 2015 Subaru WRX before noon, thinking I was going to have to wait or drop it off for an hour. Guy says "it'll be 30 minutes and $22". I'm thinking not bad at all. Location is right down the street from me. Friendly efficient service. Let's do it. Had me out in 10 minutes. Like I wasn't ever there. I even watched the guy as he did the patch. Clean work. I rarely write reviews, but I have a major issue with an Exxon that advertises State Inspections, has 2 garages / lifts, but drives my car a 1.5 miles away to a third party auto mechanic for the actual inspection and does not inform me. In fact, unless they rectify this somehow, I will never go to an Exxon again. It was a terrible experience to say the least. The inspection place failed my new 2017 mercedes due to a minor chip in the corner of the windshield (less than 1/2 inche and not cracked to the edge). There was nobody at the gas station I could speak with about the decision to fail it, as they were not the inspectors. (In their defence, they did find it bizarre that they would fail me, but turns out that the inspector, Auto Clinic on Parklawn in Rockville, MD has issues with nice cars and decides to fail them at his leisure). I spoke to another friend that this happened to. He will pass a beat up old honda (with a few minor fixes, ie $$$ in his pocket), but fail a new Mercedes as there is no work for him to do. Stay away from the Exxon and the Auto Clinic on Parklawn, unless you have a lemon. They love lemons and love $$$. read more

Total rip off..... First off, I had my car inspected in Virginia, merely 5 months ago, which passed with no problems. Had to move to MD, 5 months later for a job, so here I go again for another safety inspection. Whoever the owner was, keeps telling me, "no problem, it'll take 45 min." yea, right... it only took 1h 45 min then, his little crony tells me how my parking brakes aren't working, this needs to be fixed, etc. etc. finding so many things wrong with my car. Finally, he says he can't pass my car because it's not safe. Hm... merely 5 months ago (btw, I rarely drive to work since I took the metro) my car was just fine and now this sleezy mech is telling me all these things wrong with it. Has the audacity to give me a quote of $700 to 'fix' it all and says it's a deal and I wont' find a cheaper price. Guess what buddy, took it to the next safety inspection down the road, guy passed me with no problem. NEVER go to this inspection spot, and personally, I would not trust whatever comes out of their mouth. read more

Great experience - bought a car in VA, needed to get MD inspection - I've lived in the neighborhood for 6 years and had never been there, but remembered seeing a sign that they do inspections and it was close/convenient. Checked out Yelp - saw the good reviews and the ownership response online (always a good sign) and a Yelp offer available, so called to drop off car. Very pleasant - it was pouring that day, manager gave me a lift to the WF metro station, and called later that day to let me know all was done/OK. He seemed to want to earn business on my new car over time, which is also comforting. B/c its attached to a 24 hr gas station, you can pick up car anytime - which is a nice added bonus. UPDATE: the above was a simple good experience, but I was really prompted to post this b/c today, a few days later, I needed to get rusted off bolts off my old license plates to use on my new car, I figured I'd stop by to ask - no problem, they graciously offered to help and 5 mins later had my plates back. read more

Stay away! These are crooks! We've been using their services for a while because they are close to my wife's work, and I always felt they are very expensive. Last time we went there for a engine mount change that cost a lot but I said oh well.. Then they said we need to do some more work, including changing our front axle (Even though it felt ok - no noises), and gave a 1200 dollar estimate. When I asked for the price detail I notice the parts were less than 300 dollars and they charge 800 dollars for work!! I called them and they said they will deduct 150 dollars for being loyal customers. I felt very suspicious and went to another mechanic who told me our car is fine and the axle does not need replaced. Such dishonest mechanics should go out of business. read more

Excellent place, first time experience dealing with the maintenance. I've come here for Gas a few times. I bought a car in VA, which just had inspections done on it. I needed to get the MD inspection, in order to get my MD plates. Dropped my car off at around 8AM (opening time). By 10AM, I was out of there. I went across the street to the Dunkin' Donuts for a coffee and breakfast to kill some time. The owner of the establishment was there, who carried on a nice conversation. A very friendly guy. I will keep this place in mind for future car services. As a bonus, they have Free Wifi, if you need to do some work while waiting. read more

My wife and I are long-time customers of Rockville Exxon (for over 10 years). We own two Saturn vehicles no longer in production and parts are very difficult to locate. The owner and the new Customer Service Manager (Doug) located the parts needed for both vehicles within a few hours. And both cars were expertly repaired within 24 hours! Although we don't enjoy it when our cars break down (who does?), we know we can always count on the excellent Customer Service Department and the always reliable Maintenance Department to get us through the most difficult situations. Dude, Yelp never fails to impress me with the recommendations. Came here today for an oil change and was greeted warmly. I made my appointment through their website which was super easy. I got a synthetic oil change which ran me about $70 (they even told me to get the less expensive synthetic because it worked better!). I used my check in offer to rotate my tires and sat comfortably while they did their THANG. At the end, they made some recommendations about what I needed to get fixed but never pressured me into getting it done there. Came here for my MD inspection. They were upfront that it would take 2 hrs and $69, but offered me a ride home since it's only 2 miles. The clerk even offered me complimentary coffee / tea but I decided to walk over to the Whole Foods across the street for coffee and breakfast. The service manager explained they found 2 issues with my car (rear brake pads and the tint - apparently AZ allows 33% but MD only allows 35%). He gave me a fair quote, especially since they were running a special in support of Breast Cancer Awareness month (free break pads, just cover the labor) but my car is still under warranty with Volvo (60k miles or 5 years, even the pads are covered). I called Exxon back the next day to bring my car back in for a follow up inspection and they were able to get me in first thing the next morning. Overall, great experience, I will definitely use them in the future. The only reason I gave them 4 stars insteas of 5 is that they told me to arrive at 8am for my first appointment, but the service guys didn't arrive until 830am that day. They open at 8am, so I guess everyone was running late. read more

Rockville Exxon is as good as it gets! I brought my car in for a general service visit. Sure glad I did! My experience was positive and the repairs were done in a professional and timely fashion. My car drives so much better now and I will definitely bring my car back again for the next service appointment needed. I needed to get maryland car inspection and I really truly enjoyed their service . knowledge , prompt , friendly , and even gave me a ride home ! I received my summary through email which was impressive and they called me . The staff was friendly and nice . The fixes are a bit pricey but they give you an estimate before doing the work. They give good suggestions on how to save money and what you can do on your own. I will be coming back to get reinspected and I know i will be reviving excellent service . I was able to drop my car off and pick up when I got off work. I was offered a courtesy ride --even though I didn't need one, still nice. This review is on MD inspection and not about the general quality of the maintenance work. After having my car inspected at this place, I have strong suspicions, to say the least... I wish I read the reviews on Yelp. My case strongly resonates with the reviews left on 8/17/2012, 10/22/2013 and 5/28/2013. I needed the MD state inspection performed on Honda Pilot 2008 EXL. My car failed because, as the inspector alleged, there was a leak in the front right strut and both rear shocks, as well as three dead light bulbs. I was quoted $785 to fix these problems. Here is what is problematic with this inspection: The car was bought from a person who had the car maintained religiously at Toyota and Honda dealerships from day one to the day she sold it to me, i.e. Feb. 21, 2008 to Jun. 4, 2014. The car went through MD state inspection on Jun. 4, 2014 and it passed successfully. It not only passed the inspection, there was ABSOLUTELY no problem with the car. The car had 140,385 miles at that time. I bought the car in August (i.e. two months after its last MD inspection) and drove approximately 150 miles. Because of MD car registration requirements, I had to have it re-inspected. I took the car to Rockville Exxon and it failed the inspection because of the aforementioned problems. I asked the inspector how a car that passed the same MD inspection at a Toyota dealership just two months and 150 miles ago could fail it? I showed the records I had which clearly stated that on Jun. 4, at 140,385 miles, the car passed MD inspection and there was no reported problem at all. The inspector-mechanic had no explanation and just stated that he could show me where the leakage is. If you do a basic research in the car maintenance forums about struts and shocks, you will see tons of discussions about how dishonest mechanics dip some oil on the struts and shocks and tell the driver that they were due for replacement. I do not want to state that this was the case during my inspection. But the inspection results raise serious suspicions, especially in light of the Toyota dealership inspection just two months ago that found absolutely no problems with the struts and shocks and three bulbs (seriously, can this really happen in just two months or 150 miles). I also checked MD regulations for the grounds to reject the inspection. It appears that a leakage is not sufficient for the rejection. The leakage must be "severe." So there is lots of discretion that an inspector has. Just a leakage (as it is stated in my inspection report) is not enough. The leakage must be severe and any seeming problems with the shocks and struts must effect vehicle stability. The car rides like a champion and I have never felt any significant problem with the shocks and struts. My previous two cars were Subarus, so I am used to aggressive driving. If there was any significant damage to the struts and shocks, I would have notices that and promptly taken the car to the mechanic. UPDATE (Sep. 8, 2014): Another mechanic also told me that both rear shocks needed replacement. There was no other problem. I went ahead and asked him to replace them. Replacing both rear shocks (part + labor) and inspection costed $390. read more

Charged $79 for the state inspection which I thought was high but later found out was in the realm of possibility in the neighbourhood. Premier charges 75 i think. I went here because it was near. they did not have a car drop off as the guy was off. Since car was from a southern state it failed the window tinting regulations of 35%. I was running short on time so asked them to remove the film and they charged $45 labor to remove it!! Way too high!! I would not recommend this place as they seem to have very high rates. Friendly and fast customer service. Went in to have my Honda Civic get an oil change. Was in and out in less then and hour. Tire rotation was free with check in offer. Oil change is $35 which is pretty cheap compared to any dealership. They also gave me a break down of the other things I needed to get done and what it would cost which was very helpful. I was able to drop off my Prius for state inspection the night before, since they have a cashier on-site 24 hours. They started prompted when they opened at 8:00AM and finished right around 9:30AM, which is what they estimated. They have free wi-fi and coffee. I had chips in my windshield, which I got fixed elsewhere due to my insurance carrier. I brought it back and since the car didn't have to go on the lift, they waived the $25 re-inspection fee. They were great!! A little nervous coming here (I usually bring my car ONLY to the dealer for maintenance, even little things), but they're legit. Needed to get my car inspected to register it in Maryland and they were pretty cheap ($69.95), compared to the rest of the places in the Bethesda/Rockville area. The only tiny complaint that I have is that I dropped my car off at 8 AM before work. They told me they'd start it around 9 and it'd be done within the hour. Didn't call me or update me, until I called at noon to check on it...wasn't a huge deal b/c I was at work anyway. They finished it up and it passed without any issues. I'll definitely come here again for oil changes...not quite ready to branch out from the dealer completely yet. read more

I could not be happier with the services provided by Rockville Exxon. I brought my car in for the MD safety inspection, and was unfortunately failed due to the break pads (on the drivers side only). I had recently replaced the break pads (less than a year ago), so I was of course not pleased with needing new ones so soon. The manager and the service technician were very empathetic and the technician even showed me the good break pad on the passenger side vs the one that was completely worn out. They were able to complete the repair (and pass the inspection) that day and drove me back to work in the meantime. The prices were reasonable and competitive. The manager, Shoney Ponda, talked about how he had recently taken over this facility and is working to break the mechanic stereotype and to provide excellent customer service. They have definitely exceeded my expectations. Rockville Exxon has earned a customer for the duration of my living in MD. I have already told three of my coworkers and my neighbor that if they need service or repair to bring their vehicles to Rockville Exxon and would happily and confidently refer anyone looking for a service station. read more

Yes!!!! I came in on a cold winter day frustrated and angry because the Rockville Audi Service dept was charging $214 for a state safety inspection. I was greeted by a friendly man immediately, and asked how he could help. Then I was introduced to Shoney who told me that the inspection would be $79.99 and I could schedule an appointment online. This was super convenient for me. They offered complimentary shuttle service, coffee/tea and wifi which were very generous amenities while waiting. The car was inspected within the 2 hour window as promised, my car passed, and I saved myself over 100 bucks. WIN!
