Yes, the lines were long--both for gas and especially for the bathroom--but the cashiers were working fast and keeping things moving. Thank goodness for Apple Pay because checkout was quick and easy. Honestly this spot is pretty good for a road trip stop. They have lots of souvenirs in the shop that are pretty cool! Women's restroom has a VERY long line, but that's to be expected. This stop is where my husband and I go to buy lottery tickets to avoid the chaos of Primm. There can also be a lottery ticket line here as well, but not nearly as bad as the Lotto store in Primm. With that, we stopped here again on our way home to Vegas from LA. This is the only thing going on at Exit 272. I mean this is it. So beggars cannot be choosers. The bathrooms are limited and never seem to be clean in my opinion, but again beggars cannot be choosers. If going from LA to Vegas, the rest stop before this exit might be a better bathroom stop if cleanliness was key to you. They do seem to have fruit and some healthy food options, along with regular snacks and dried items. This pit stop is nothing special. read more

Returning back to Vegas from a long road trip and stopped here for some much-needed gas, drinks and a restroom. All of which were able at this Shell gas station. However, the gas was extremely expensive. It just seems as though they feel they can charge whatever they want because there's no other opposing gas station in the vicinity. What the scenario looks like to me is basically them saying "buy our gas even if it's $10 a gallon or run out of gas in the desert". Furthermore, their bathroom was utterly atrocious and reeked. To be honest the whole purpose of this review was to warn unsuspecting customers of the putrid odor that awaits them if they decide to use the restroom. The level of Funk that lies within doesn't just happen overnight. It takes an extensive period of time to form. So if the employees allow the terrible odors to fester for months prior. Why wouldn't they allow it to fester for months or possibly years into the future. Hopefully some professional/hygienic employment will properly clean the bathroom and keep it clean. But if not... Please have your employees regularly clean the restrooms! They are SPLATTERED in years of spray from the toilet in many different colors, including brown and yellow. This gas station was exceptional. It was smokin hot outside, so I couldn't wait to get my swampy self into their facilities. Upon entry, the door fell off from its hinges but don't worry, because Gusto and Hibjad were on it to fix it up in a jiffy. After nearly sharting myself from what was either the door falling or the fact that there were free jerky samples, I took myself over to the crapper where I could let all loose. Despite the reviews, the bathrooms were in tip top shape, giving my well deserved potty time a pampering, minus the one guy who blew chunks in the sink shortly after, but Richard was shortly on his way to clean it up with a smile on his face. They had all of the medications I needed from gas x to diherrea meds after getting my I got my hands on the date shake and fresh nuts. They had some spiffy route 66 t shirts with a variety of rad designs, and some lovely views. We even saw some miners hard at work, just like the good ol' days. We love miners! I have came here twice in the last two weeks to buy lotto tickets, of course us Nevadans have to cross to state line to buy them, unfortunately the lotto store at state line is about a 3-4 hour wait so why not drive another 25 minutes to Cima to get them, I would have to say this place has it together!! 4 people working the registers two separate lines, one for lotto and one for those needing to pay for gas or other goods. Don't be intimidated by the line it moves fast! About a 45 minute wait and your in and out. They are not accepting tickets for cash in that way it keeps things moving, lotto tickets can only be purchased with cash and they have an ATM inside for convenience in case you are unprepared. Coming here is an adventure it's nice interacting with others in line and having conversations. Now it does say best date shake so you might wanna check it out, I haven't tried but everyone says it's good! Go get your lotto and best of luck!!! read more

Went there to buy lotto tickets as Nevada doesn't have power all. The lotto store in Primm sucked and had a tailgate line outside of it. This little shell station is Aahhhhhhhmazing!! The staff 10. The facilities 10! The chicken sandwich 100000000000. The date shake 10000000000. The jerkey and shop 100000000 I didn't even notice how high gas prices were because everything was so amazing that it was worth it. I have driven past this gas station numerous time but today we stopped. It's an easy easy exit. They have a posting for entrance and exit making it efficient to fill up and go. The restrooms ( at least the women's) was very clean. The shop is nicely set up with a cool drinks, souvenirs, a huge selection of jerky and dates (the fruit not the other kind!) My boyfriend went inside to let the clerk know, not even demanding a refund, but asking him to please check the pump. The clerk got argumentative and just said no refund, and he can't do anything about it. This happened around 2:40am today. We stopped here out of the lady's desperation and worry that we'd run out of gas before arriving to Las Vegas. I had mentioned that Primm, Nevada was less than 10 miles away, and the prices would be better. However, I wasn't aware of the Gas Buddy app yet and could not confirm the better price. In addition, it was a much needed bathroom break for both of us. Upon arrival, I had to rub it in about the prices, they at least 50¢ a gallon more than in Baker. But we decided to just get $20 bucks worth to make it to Las Vegas. There happens to be a neat little old west display outside with mannequins dressed as cowboys and cowgirls that begged your attention. Many were snapping photos and some are posted here on Yelp. You wouldn't think there's too much to say about a gas station out in the desert until you walk in and realize- hey it's pretty nice inside here! It is a gas station, convenience store, gift shop and cima mining company all within the same place. Lots of really cool stuff to see! Oh, and they have great date shakes too! Of course we could not resist and decided to share one. I would say it is worth the stop just for the date shakes and cima mining company, not so much for the high-priced gas. Always driven by by this place, but never stopped before. With COVID-19, and not knowing what's open and isn't, I visited for a restroom break. It's your basic gas/convenience store with a mining theme. They're practicing all the COVID precautions... plexi for the cashiers, labels on the floor to tell you where to stand, enforcing masks, etc. One thing that's interesting in the men's room is there a fountain instead of urinal, and it fits about 3 average size guys, although 2 would be more appropriate. Sorry ladies, I don't know if you have something similar in your rest room. I used the restroom, got a pack of gum before heading up mountain pass to help my ear's pop, and left. Stumbled on this place because our go to Lotto Store was packed! The line wrap around the building. So google lotto tickets and was surprised to find this place only about another 30 minutes south on the I15. As side from gas & lotto tickets they have a neat little store selling souvenirs and a whole bunch of candies,nuts & trail mix. Kind of reminds of Trader Joe's offerings. But this time, on the way from Vegas to Cali, we decided to pass through the Mojave Desert-took the Cima off ramp, and decided to stop for a cold drink and ice cream-and was amazed by this place! It was a gas station with a store. But the store had character, it was clean, well presented-and it made me smile and want to take pictures of the place-so I did! I didn't look at the gas prices, because I wasn't stopping for gas, but if I had to choose between Barstow or Baker, or this place, I'd choose this one because it wasn't too crowded, it was easy to get to, and it had almost anything you could need...almost! There were lots and lots of snacks-dried fruits and jerky and drinks (including some alcohol in the cold section), hot dogs on the rollers, fresh fruit, wine bottles, ice, souvenirs....and....a Zoltar machine!!! They also sell lottery tickets, if you feel lucky! I wish this place had some type of good restaurant-deli, that would make it complete! The five stars is for the convenience, cleanliness, and efficiency of this station, which is a bit of an oasis on the thoroughfare to and from Vegas. Now... the REAL reason I am writing this review... is the men's restroom... Specifically, as others have mentioned on here, the urinal... If you like bonding experiences with other males and spiritual juju with your peeing, then this is the spot for you. The ONE urinal is like, this "reverse clam" thing, that is absolutely no wider than five feet, and tapers INWARD to this "waterfall" thing that pours water down onto the urinal, also creating "mist" in the process. And because it tapers "inward," you almost have to ever so slightly "face" any other dude also peeing at this no wider than five foot urinal. A lot of guys were seemingly uncomfortable with it and waited for the stall, but I just got in there and did my business and got in and got out, and another dude "joined" me about halfway and we each tried to "face" as opposite direction(s) as we could. Was only slightly uncomfortable for me and by the end of it I felt like he was my brother. So there you have it. read more

This GAS STATION SUUUCKS. It is the only gas station located in Nipton, CA. A literal truck stop, with a cool sign that shows the map with other states including mine. There is... there is nothing for miles. Stuck going somewhere between Victorville and Bakersfield, Nipton was our last stop because we needed to get last minute gas. Everyone knows this is the last gas station for miles. Truckers, everywhere, no parking, semi truck stop, so be careful. The lines inside are crowded with people fighting for the restroom. The shop doesn't sell anything you need. Mostly gas station snacks and drinks. Junk mostly. Don't buy the touristy things marketed to you. read more

This Shell station has many kinds of jerky, including tuna, elk and alligator. They also offer many chocolates and other candies at very reasonable prices. You like rocks? You can buy rose quartz or goeds which are either whole or cut in half already. The fabulous specimen I saw was $700. You'll have to see it! This Shell station is so fun! It's super cute and kitschy inside - your classic roadtrip pitstop. They sell everything from a variety of jerky to gem rocks/crystals. You want it, it's probably there. Bathrooms where pretty dirty, had to squat too pee and there was like 5 men in line waiting for their restroom... Only place I've ever seen men waiting in line to pee!! Cute little place to get lotto CA tickets just outside of Vegas. Lots of western things, souvenirs, trail mix, jerky, etc. Can play lotto until 10pm, unless it's the day of the drawing , then you have to purchase by 7:45 pm as per lotto regulations. This place reminds me of that 76 down in Avenal that's by a state prison. This isn't by a state prison - at least not that I can tell. But it looks like it should be. The Google Street View doesn't even show the place properly. That's got to be from literal decades ago. It's not really a 'Shell', they just serve that gas. It looks like it's trying to be one of those stops like Area 51 where you can see touristy type things while you get gas. The gas price was a slight bit steep - over $5 - but I paid with a $20 and I'm in a hybrid electric, was more to make sure I didn't go too low. Inside is your usual fares for a convenience store by the freeway. It was the bathroom that was really concerning. Everything else was okay and I never felt unsafe or discriminated against. I can't give it more than 2 stars because it did feel like there was a bit of gouging going on AND the bathrooms simply were unsanitary. read more

Came here to buy lottery tickets and to avoid the state line crowd. What's another 15-20 more minutes for a way shorter line to buy tickets for one of the biggest jackpots in history? It's a very convenient spot. One star for the prices.. when I have to pay close to $6.00 for low grade gas that's just taking advantage of people knowing that if they don't fuel up here they won't make it to the next gas station. Blonde girl with a lot of make up and piercing in the month called "Ree" (hope they didn't lie her name to me) is extremely impolite and have very poor costumer service. I grabbed a container to pay and asked her where I could pay for the product. She then questioned me why did I grabbed the container myself, when it was right in front of me and it said "self service", when I explained to her that, she was rude and argued with me. I just wanted to pay for the container. If you can't deal with people and can't explain things (even if it's obvious for you) you cannot work in costumer service.
