We had our Toyota Sienna die in Baker, and we had to have it towed to Pasadena. Luis just dropped us and our car off, after hours of driving in horrible traffic. We needed to get our car back to OUR mechanic, we've been with him for over 25 years....so, the long tow back to Pasadena was worth it. Luis was polite, intelligent and friendly, he towed our car and us back to safety. He was gentle with our sad car, and took care and time to explain what he qas doing. It was a long long day/night. My car's transmission died on the way back from visiting California for Christmas to Las Vegas on I-15N. Managed to get close to Baker, CA and found Kens towing from searching on my cell phone while being stranded after 10pm. Luis was on call and proceeded to pick me up from my map coordinates and found me in the dark. He quickly and carefully pulled my car onto his tow truck bed, and made sure to double check everything was secured. Proceeded to ride with him all the way back to Las Vegas and was friendly, gracious making a troubling time calm and really drove carefully. He needed to stop at the gas station, and made sure to check if I needed anything. This included his waiting for me if I needed to use a restroom. Great service, professionalism, and did the same level of care when dropping my car off in my driveway. Drove my son's car to LA from Vegas and in Baker a light came on for low tires (my son neglected to tell me it's be coming on lately). Anyway, Ken's Towings garage doors were open so I pulled in and asked if they could check the pressure. Julio checked all four tires and then said the back left was low. Took it off the car, looked at it, and within seconds found a nail. He pulled the nail out, plugged the hole and we were off. Very kind and courteous and definite life savers. In a hurry to get to LA, I left Las Vegas early Sunday morning. I searched for "auto service open now" and found a couple of listings. Both turned out to be inaccessible. I had no choice but to start out for LA: without checking my Tires, fluids or Oil Level! My car is usually in good shape, but you never know. It had been a while since the last service. So with a more than a little concern, I figured I would have to wait until LA and pray that all was well. Wow! was I surprised. I stopped in Baker, to give my little dog a break and pulled into the first Chevron station. My eyes immediately noticed the garage in back was OPEN for service! I was even more surprised to find a service Angel named Luis on duty! Luis checked and topped off all the tires, checked all the fluids, and recommended a quart of oil, which I quickly bought, along with a bag of ice that he carried and put into my cooler. I lost air in my tire 11 miles from Baker. I called road side assistance and they sent Ken's Towing. My eta was over an hour and they arrived earlier than expected! The man who arrived was quick, and efficient. Changed my tire and when I asked if they offered new tires he said they did and provided the address and explained where to go. When I arrived I asked about the service to get a new tire since I was driving back to LA and my doughnut wouldn't make it with the heat. they offered to see if the tire can be repaired before getting replaced since it would be cheaper. Unfortunately it could t be repaired and he explained why, I appreciated that they offered to see if they can repair my tire instead of jumping right in to sell me a new one. Got stuck with my friend and his family on the 15 freeway last Sunday in Baker on our way home from Vegas. Our run flat tire blew and we had no replacement. We called Mercedes to assist us but they said it would be 2 hours before they could get to us and they would only be able to drive us back to Vegas, which is where we just came from. We weren't trying to back track. We were on our way home to Los Angeles. It was also 110 degrees and we were in the middle of the desert, stopped on a dangerous area of the 15 freeway. I called Kens towing. The dispatcher was awesome. She was able to figure out our approximate location and within 30 mins had a tow truck on site ready to take all 4 of us in their truck to a safe location. Unfortunately, they didn't have the tire we needed but they did drop us off at a nearby tire shop which did have our tire. If you're ever stranded in Baker, call Ken's. I wish I could give them ZERO stars. San Bernardino CHP had my car towed to this dump because my brother became incapacitated from a head injury. He was the one who called 911 for help in this car (in my name) and they ended up towing it instead of calling me. CHP sucked on this one too. So I finally find out it's at Ken's Towing from CHP. Awesome I think to myself. I'll call them to get it out. NOPE. I called for almost 45 minutes. Each time, the supposed dispatcher, Vanessa, couldn't talk to me. Then she texted me from a different number, saying she can't talk right now?! What?! It's business hours. You're supposed to answer the phone during business hours. First clue in my head that said this place is gonna be shitty. And it didn't disappoint. Finally got through to her and she is clueless, doesn't know what is required and hesitates on every answer. Every answer! My simple questions were: What time can I make an appointment to pickup my car? I'm coming from Vegas so I would like to make sure someone is there. Secondly, how much is it going to cost and what paperwork do you need? Do you know if the keys are inside the vehicle? Do you know if the vehicle is in running condition? Those were my questions. Finally she stated it had tires and appeared to be in running order. Appeared? When asked if she could start it - she told me she wasn't in front of the vehicle. So that begs the question - how the hell do you know if it's in running condition or has the keys? This place is nuts. I swear do not have your car here ever if you can avoid it. Baker has plenty of other places to go to. So....my appointment was today at 8:30am. I got there a little early - around 7:20AM. I called the number and they wanted to charge me an extra $105 when Oscar was there at the shop helping other people. Because Oscar said he was too busy, he was determined to NOT help us clearly. So I called Vanessa back and she said well, it's after hours and it'll be $105 extra. I said nevermind - I'll go to Denny's down the street and eat breakfast and be back at 8:30AM. Are you going to have someone else here at that time? She said yes. She's a liar. 8:33AM we pulled up. Nobody else but Oscar. I call her again. No answer for 3 consecutive calls. 4th call - she answers and says "I was just thinking of you. I'll call someone now". WTF??? I made an appt didn't I? Luis finally shows up 20 minutes later, speaks like he's half asleep and doesn't even know what car I'm there for! So after paying $350 for having the car for 2 days (which is ridiculous), Luis opens up the box of keys and says "do you know which key it is?". Are you fricking joking?! The keys are all over, NOT labeled and not in envelopes or keychains other than their original chains. Luckily I knew the lanyard and key because I'd just bought the new 49er lanyard for my brother. So at least that helped. There were multiple GMC keys without lanyards. UGH.. Terrible people, terrible service. The actual vehicle is stored down the street in a locked yard that has sand and HUGE red ants. It was in the back and blocked by another vehicle. The cars are not stored in any particular order. They are blocked by other vehicles and facing different ways. Very UNorganized. Finally got the car moved out that was in front of mine - got the car and left. I asked Luis about the seat covers I'd just bought for my brother because they were missing. Do you think the tow driver (Luis) took photos when he picked the vehicle up? NOPE. Of course not. They probably stole all the 49er stuff that my brother had in the car. Pictures would have proved it was there. I don't trust these people and neither should you! What a terrible experience. I'm thankful to be out of that hellhole and back home in Vegas so I can deal with the issue of my brother being in the hospital. AT least the car is running. However, I do plan to speak with my attorney about all the missing 49er stuff. We may need to make a claim because it was over $200 worth of stuff. It's the principal of the whole thing. They need to stop being shady. Do not give them your business. Go elsewhere. read more

Last night I blew a tire in the middle of NOWHERE without a spare!! I was on my way to Vegas from Palm Springs. These folks are in alliance with gieco to tow service and that's how I begin my experience began. I didn't notice my gas light was on and ran out of gas driving back from Vegas. Called gieco and they had a service call with kens. They do not respect ANYONEs time and have no idea how to provide a proper estimated time of arrival. It's 100 degrees and they say 45 min 1 hour and 10 min later I'm still waiting. I called the number and the girl on the phone is friendly but always makes me wait for 8 minutes before u actually says anything. And each time is a bull shit excuse after another. These guys are awesome! Had a total tire blowout on the highway outside of Baker, CA. They went above and beyond. Not only is there work fantastic and so fast, they have amazing customer service. I have a tire replacement program thru Toyota that reimburses me for the cost of the tire. It was my first time using the program, and had no idea what a headache it would be to use it. Their staff was so patient and kind and answered all of Toyota Corporate's questions so we could get reimbursed. They had super reasonable prices and got us back on the road super quickly. Having a flat tire in the 109° summer heat of the desert is no joke. Even though I have BMW Assist and run flat tires, I was stuck in Baker. BMW would only tow me back to Las Vegas BMW and make me wait for the service center to open on Monday. I was able to get to Baker on run flats, but no where in town sells run flat tires. Oscar at Ken's saved the day by installing a used tire that fit my car and got me back home where I could purchase the actual tire I needed for my car. All this in 15 minutes for under $40!!!
