Great tow service. On our way to Vegas and got into an accident on I-15 just past Baker at 11pm and couldn't get a tow company through our insurance. So we researched on our own and called several tow companies. Many advertised 24/7 service but we couldn't reach most of the companies. We finally got ahold of two companies (one of them being Tapia's Towing). Tapia's answered right away and provided a much more reasonable quote than the other company. They were responsive and arrived on timely. The driver was super nice and very considerate and even offered to stop for us to get refreshments of needed. read more

Guarantee half these reviews are family/ friends because I wouldn't recommend going here to anyone. Our tire blew out in the middle of nowhere & we were stuck for almost 2 days until a trucker was kind enough to help us out & get us a tow truck through AAA... now already we were stuck in a tight/difficult situation even after getting the new tire onto the rim its just at this point we needed air to seal it on. This was the closest place (35miles) from where we broke down & they knew it because they wanted $40 cash to put air in. Reminder we already spent over a day w help of passerbys getting the rim onto the new tire. We had literally only $30 cash on us at that moment & they still refused we walked the tire over to Ken's towing & tire service around the corner & not only were they kind/understanding but they were beyond helpful going above & beyond to make sure our tire was good/ready for the long journey home. We paid them $10 & had cash left over for COLD waters & food. Do yourself a favor & don't go to this house (so-called service shop) walk to Ken's a block away connected to the chevron! There's no way they have this high of a rating on yelp without help. Not one person we talked or asked about this place to had anything good to say about it. Not One!! Another car that had broken down that we helped out while stranded ending up already being at Ken's T&T service when we arrived. They had similar problems with tapias. read more

If I could give 10 stars I would! Our old camper van broke down in 108 degree weather just before the California/Nevada border. Oscar at Tapia's came to the rescue. As the sun was setting he got to work getting our van secured to the tow truck and got us safely to a mechanic in Vegas. He went above and beyond helping us make sure the van was parked in a safe spot and waited until and Uber came to pick us up. They made sure they got the car loaded up properly and to the charger, dropped it off and they made sure that my car started charging before leaving. I was on the road to see family urgently. I got a flat. Called AAA and they put the spare on, gave it some air and rolled out. I mapped 2 tire places really close to one another. I went to Tapia's first because of the rating but man did those stars lie! Started out odd because I drove up to the business in the middle of the day and it's a house with a garage and a big storage unit for tires. It said open but it was like in a western empty. Ok fine. I needed a tire so it is what it is. NO ONE was around ANYWHERE. Even knocked on the door of the home, which felt really bizarre. Finally called and the owner(I guess) says "the tire guy wasn't there but was about 10-15 minutes away." I was in a hurry so I said, well let me check out the other place before you pull your guy. The owner caught a serious attitude. Took it REAALLL personal. And I thought women were vindictive?! And we are...but MAN!! We hung up and I drove to the other place... which as it turns out... just has their business up on google and all the signage is still there but they were no longer doing tire or tow services at all, "oh sorry about that", the lady said. Ok Baker, CA... So I called this Tapia place back and said, hey it looks like life is what it is and I need to wait. But in that little 2 mins he was brewing and put the high blood pressure in "salty" honey. He said, but what about the other place? I'm like, Sir eww is that smoke...You have a "We're Open" sign with no one around YOUR BUSINESS and you salty because I don't want to wait on your employee who's supposed to be at the OPEN business site. Eww, just send the guy and let's go. Anyway, he sent the guy. The guy was nice enough but didn't do a good job ANNDDD...He broke the sensor! We both heard it snap off, and when I saw the hand in the cookie jar face, I knew something was wrong. He handed it to me and said just have THEM put a new one on. We don't have the machine. Huh? He said it's happened to me and it's nothing! LIES!! It's taken me months to get it squared away and get the light off on the dash cuz if that mess doesn't match up to your computer... goodluck!! Really?! Behind a flat tire though, all this nonsense! Ughh! Even the mechanic shops that are actually decent, lookin at me, like I'm lookin at them!! This CLOWN SHOW is TERRIBLE with a capital WTF is this Bull!!. Needless to say, they had to TOP IT OFF with one final RIP OFF...So the tire guy said they took Zelle and it would be cheaper, but the beta owner, with his attitude on, charged me 232.00$ for ONE medium grade tire! I know cars and this was wow! He knew I had to though. I had to have the tire and he took full advantage after they broke my sh(& too! To finish out...I didn't want anybody doing any funny mess to my tire that may endanger me so I held my tongue and got what I needed to get me to safety and have it ACTUALLY taken care of. Five stars my ENTIRE A*^!! This was a terrible experience and I wouldn't let these people hold a rock sitting still in traffic for me on a greenlight! 5 stars. Our car's engine overheated about an hour after leaving Vegas. We needed it towed back to Vegas to have a mechanic to check it out. We were at Nipton,CA. Called Tapia Towing, and they gave me a reasonable quote upfront and ETA. The tow truck came on time. The drive was very efficient. The truck was clean and able to seat our family of four. I called roadside assistance that pays the tow company..When the driver arrived..he demanded and additional $100 from me and told me that he only took cash..This asshole then would only help once he was paid..we could only scrape up $97 which he took..I reported the incident and have heard nothing back. After suffering a collision with the center divider due to hydroplaning (monsoon season in Vegas is no joke), we waited for 3 hours for Agero (roadside assistance dispatcher for our insurance) to run around in circles and eventually not sending us a tow truck at all. We were fed up and began looking on our own and found Tapia's Towing. Francisco, our tow truck driver, came as swiftly as he could to get us and our car out of harm's way. He even offered to make a stop and pick up some food for us since we've been on the road for over 7 hours by that point! Paying attention to little details like this clearly distinguishes him as providing sincere care for stranded motorists. If you ever get stranded on I-15 near Barstow/Baker/Primm, don't hesitate to give them a call. Oscar and his wife saved our lives!! My boyfriend and I were off roading in Death Valley and it was all fun and games until we got stuck in the sand. We tried to push the car out ourselves for a few hours and then decided that we should call someone for help. After a few calls to different companies, Oscar was the only one that would come out and help us. Apparently other companies just leave you out there... Oscar showed up about 45 minutes later with water bottles and all the tools to get us out!! He also made sure we got back to the main road safely, as other were stuck in there too. Forever grateful to Oscar + Gilbert for getting us back on the road! Got a flat tire today on our last day of a 2-week road trip in a rented RV. Our GEICO Roadside Assistance would not cover us due to us being in an RV and not a car. We did not purchase Roadside Assistance through Outdoorsy (live and learn on that one!) - and the company their Roadside Assistance people told us to call (West Coast Fleet Services) said it would cost $680 for them to come out and change the tire! Called this place at 2:55 am with my boyfriend because we had a blown tire and we were missing a piece to our jack. we were told it would be 50 dollars for a driver to get out here and help us in 35 min. around min 45 we called to get an update and the guy said he went back to his shop because we did not answer. mind you were in the middle of the mojave desert 10 min outside of baker, ca with no cell service. we asked if he could come back because I am 8 months pregnant and it is now 3:45 am and i'm stranded and he straight up said "no". Yesterday, I found myself in a crisis situation. While driving on a dirt-road in the Mojave National Preserve, my sedan sank into the sand! It was noon on a Sunday with a temperature of 107 degrees Fahrenheit and I was stranded in the middle of the desert. I tried my best not to panic as I hiked back to the paved road to look for help, but after waiting 15 minutes, not a single car passed me by. I walked further along the road, wondering if I was going to have to hike 20 miles back to civilization in the desert heat with limited water, when I miraculously found a few bars of cell reception. I searched for tow companies in Baker and called A-1 and Ken's, but they both said that their trucks did not drive off of paved roads. What kind of B.S. is that!? But, when I called Tapia Towing and explained my situation, Oscar said the three words anyone in that situation longs to hear: "I'm leaving now." Within 30 minutes, Oscar found me, and got my car back to the road with the utmost speed and professionalism. Oscar Tapia really was my hero yesterday and I'm incredibly grateful to him.
