On Friday evening I realized my EV lost a substantial amount of power going up the hill to Las Vegas. I needed a tow because we weren't going to make it. Matt called before he arrived asking what the issue was and inquiring if we wanted to go to Baker for free instead of Vegas for 200 dollars. We mentioned we didn't want to experience losing power again going back up the hill and would like to be taken to our destination. When Matt arrived he asked again if we wanted a free ride to baker. I asked why it was free and he said that's where he's stationed. When he couldn't convince us to take the free ride he became agitated. We asked if about Apple Pay and his response was "oh you guys are mad at me !" Which we found strange since we were extremely grateful to be receiving a tow that we were paying 200 for. Matt became short and slightly rude until the end of the ride. A person pulled up while Matt was loading our car and asked if we were safe and Matt responded "I don't know. I'm just the tow guy" which was concerning. Are we not safe with Matt? On the ride to Vegas he proceeded to speed and swerve through lanes all the way there. It was obvious Matt had some where else to be and we were inconveniencing him with our paid service that he didn't have to accept. When we arrived to Vegas Matt took us to the charging stations which I appreciate because we had no idea where they were. I had to yell to Matt to ensure our ride was complete and we didn't need to sign anything else. He was ready to go and did not thank us for our service which was a 200 dollar 20 minute ride. I hope Matt reads this and understands how to handle situations like this in the future. We were scared and worried he was going to leave us stranded and it's awkward to ride in a vehicle with someone who is a stranger and seemingly angry. I'll add he turned off the AC during the ride as well. I guess we weren't worthy of cool air. I pray to God you do better when it comes to women stranded in the middle of nowhere. read more

BEST tow experience EVER! We broke down in Nipton at night and spent six hours limping the 30 miles to Baker, where an auto shop could help us in the morning... Except there aren't any open auto shops there any longer! We were stuck in 112° heat alllllll day with a van full of kids as we figured out our next steps. When we finally called AAA for a tow to Barstow, they sent for A-1 to come get us. Our ride arrived before the tow and took us to get some food for the kids, which is of course when Matt arrived with his tow truck! He called and when we said we were at the fast food place and would turn around, he told us not to worry, to get food for the kids, and he would wait for us. When we got back to our passenger van, we were pleased to see Matt had brought a flatbed tow, since the last time we had it towed, the tow company had to send FIVE total trucks because none of them could handle our van. Even though we'd left him waiting for a while (Taco Bell took forever!), Matt was so kind and pleasant. He loaded up our van and said we could go gas up and finish getting food for the other half of our party, as long as we made it to Barstow when he did. Which, of course, we didn't. Ugh! He managed to beat us there, gave us a call, and was again just SO NICE. Considering we had completely inconvenienced him not once, but TWICE, Matt was still so kind and helpful. My classic 1955 Buick Broderick Crawford 'Highway Patrol' car had a part come off the chassis on the way home last night from a classic car show in Boulder City to support fallen police officers from the area. I pulled over by the California Inspection Station on the 15 South and called the Automobile Club for help. They dispatched A-1 to my location. Their driver Eddie showed up in under an hour coming all the way from Baker. He was a complete professional. I told Eddie about the part hanging off of my chassis and he spent 45 minutes under the car, tying the part up so it wouldn't hang down and do further damage to my expensive famous classic car. On our way home from Vegas. Our driver front tires blowed out. Thank god our tire sensor, quick reaction. I have 6 years Toyota tires protection. Called Toyota Roadside assistance, they set us up with this towing company to tow us to the nearest Toyota dealership which is in Barstow 60+ miles away for the warranty replacement. Fine there. Called the dealership to get a heads up on the tires, they don't stock tires so Warranty replacement would have to be order and takes 3 days.. NO good there. Google to the rescue, call nearby tire shop for tire availability.. Ken's tire & towing has the tire in stock. Roadside assistance had to update the tow drop off location for them to drop us off there, which is a 2 mins drive. Justin came earlier than expect and picked up, got us to Ken's and stay until Ken located the tires he has in stock then leave. Only put one star because that's the lowest I can give here, but it's a negative 5 to be honest. To say I am dissatisfied with this service is an understatement. The way my father in law and grandpa were treated was inhumane to say the least. Their car broke down in Nipton. The tow truck service arrived, Matthew arrived to assist and tow them back to our house in LA County. They were not allowed to ride in the tow truck with Matthew; according to company policy due to covid. They weren't even given the option of wearing their masks to ride in the tow truck. [BUT AFTER READING OTHER REVIEWS HERE, other customers were able to ride in the tow truck with Matthew, per their reviews]. So my father in law and grandpa had to ride back in their broken down car (which isn't safe, or legal) in over 100 degree weather. Based on the reviews it leads me to believe that this tow truck company/employee picks and chooses whom they allow in their truck based on the color of their skin! It is very upsetting reading other reviews that gave five stars and stated they rode back in the tow truck with the same person who towed my family back but wouldn't allow my family to ride in the tow truck "based on covid policy" but really because of the color of skin. Because reviews as recent as two months ago were able to ride back in the two truck, and covid has been going on for over 2 years already. read more

12/5/21 I was stuck with a bad starter in Baker at 11 pm and I needed to get back to the SFV (180miles.) My uncle has the 200 mile free tow with AAA so he called and A-1 showed up. They did not want to tow me without the member (my uncle) being there. I have NEVER had that issue with AAA before so it was obvious the company just didn't want to drive to SFV and then drive back empty so they were hiding behind "company policy." That's fine, policy is policy. So then I decided to use my own AAA, that has 100 miles free tow, to get to Hesperia (99 miles.) I was going to spend the night at a motel and take the car to the mechanic the next day. I called AAA and again the same company shows up. Right away the driver's assistant (wearing the elf hat) tells me they will take me only to Victorville (which is right before Hesperia) and after that it will be $9/mile. I told them no! The destination is within 100 miles and I am the member so stop trying to upsell me and DO THE JOB YOU SIGNED UP TO DO - HELPING PEOPLE. Once we got to the motel, my battery was completely dead because the tow company left the key in the ignition the whole way and they also left the driver window open. When I asked them if they can help me charge the battery so I can close the window (I had a lot of gear inside the truck) they said "they don't have cables long enough to reach." Why are you lying?! Be a man and say "yes I can help you, but I need some money for it." I would've been more than happy to pay to secure my belongings! I told them I would help push the car back so we can reach the battery. The tow truck driver points at a sign on the wall "No Backing into Spaces." I told them I'd talk to front desk and tell them it's an emergency. While I went to talk to the front desk, the tow truck drove off and the assistant wearing the elf hat FLICKED ME OFF! Bro WHY?! I sat quietly the whole way and just asked for help closing my window. It's not my fault you're in a position in life where you have to work a tough night job. God please help these people with whatever problems they're having in life so they don't have to treat people this way. read more

As we were coming home from Las Vegas, our tire blew out, which was a scary ordeal to begin with! My husband and I put on the spare tire and drove towards Baker, making phone calls for pricing of new tires (between $180-$200 for 1 tire!!) as we drove into Baker we saw this location. Y husband pulled up to the garage and talked to a really nice man (sorry, didn't catch his name). 1st off they manager asks me "Where are we towing you?" I respond, "I'm going to Pomona Ca" He said "No your not, we don't do long distance tows I can take you off the freeway to the next exit." Due to an unfortunate incident at 3am between my car and a patch of asphalt that had compacted due to the recent heat waves, my front tire was damaged and losing air at an alarming rate approximately 10 miles outside of Baker on Kelbaker Road.
