I agree with most reviewers concerning the gas prices as being average. I have noticed however that many of the keypads for entering your PIN # or zip code at the pumps have been vandalized at various times that I've gone there. If you see that, move on. It's not worth the risk of getting your card information hijacked. The real issue at this place has to be the car wash. I used to live close by this station, so I used to frequent it. At first, the Car Wash was reliable and did a good job. Over the past year however, it has been hit or miss at best. I understand no mechanical device can be in service all the time, but when the wash is out of service, it should be indicated both at the pump and at the entrance of the wash itself. The attendants at this station seem not to understand this simple concept. More than once I've bought a wash, only to find out when my tires were already in the chute and I'm at the keypad entering my code. Backing out of the chute, leaves your car very close to the curb, and makes it very difficult to back out without scraping your wheels or bumper. This is exacerbated if you have two cars queued up behind you. I witnessed one young lady unable to get a refund on her $7.00 just because their "system" declined the card....on a refund. Really?? Your computer can decline a debit card on a REFUND??. This is the third time in the past six months I've had to back out of this car wash. If the owners of this station can't be bothered to alert customers to a problem that can cause inconvenience, wasted time, possibly money, and even possible damage to my car..... Then I can't be bothered to stop here ever again. read more

I must say I am very disappointed with this gas station. To people that are local to Milpitas that go to this gas station know very well that this gas station is very convenient. Now paying for a car wash ($6.00) which expires in 7 days is BS! I must say. And of course it expired. My bad....So I went to go ask the attendant if I can get a new code. And she, said "No because it expired"...duh?!...I know.. please give me a new one or give me my money back...Still nothing. Now, that pissed me off. So, now your going to tell me as a loyal customer to this gas station that supports local businesses, you are not going to get me a new code to wash my car? Bad move...Starlite Shell. The customer service here sucks. Jai the attendant pretty much refused to give me change for the vaccum. He told me to purchase something in order to open the til. so I waited around for a customer so he can open the til. the til had opened and I told him I saw it open . he denied it. also, the other attendant was rude too. I live near by this gas station. Put the gas, buy coffee and play lottery. I win $100.00 . I was happy to go change my ticket. Melisa who was the casher there told me she didn't have money to pay me. And she didn't change my ticket. It's happen in 3 times with me. I win $60,$100,and $100 for 3 different days. The same girl refused to change my winning tickets. I will want the store manager to know and if it's there policy to not change winning tickets. DON'T SALE it. I will also report to CALOTTERY too. Is not leagle . I am so unhappy. This is a very convenient gas station right off of the freeway. It also has a car wash which is very useful when one, I don't wash cars and two, my boyfriend doesn't either. Also, it's right next to a Jack In the Box so if you are hungry, you can always make a stop there. read more

At night when they close the doors and you can only use the walk-up window, service is nice.....but slow as f**k!

This is the worst gas station ever! Besides of overpriced gas cost, the service for car wash, vacuum service, etc, are very poor. For example, the vacuum machine is supposed to be starting with $1.25, but it won't even be started after I inserted more than 10 quarters for vacuum. I told them, but they only returned just 1 quarter since they don't trust me how many coins I put. Strongly I would say that you'd better to avoid the vacuum service over there. Also, it just stopped in 2-3 minutes, which is not sufficient time to do vacuum. It's totally waste of money. read more

The 5 stars are ONLY for the car wash. It's awesone! Much better than the shell car wash u used to go to on Alum Rock near 280/680. The wash is pretty strong - strong enough to make the car feel like it is shaking. Also, at the end, there is a fan with a clock to tell you how much drying time is left. The other wash I used to go to would lie about how much time was left, and always stopped early! This is my current new favorite car wash. read more

Paid for gas in cash, got charged the credit price. When I asked the attendant, he said you can only get the cash price if you buy a car wash... Pretty sure it's illegal to not honor the price listed on your sign in California. Definitely won't ever be back. read more

Horrible experience with the car wash and gas station attendant. Waited 40 minutes just to have the car wash stall out and not work for me. When I went in to tell the attendant it wasn't working, he told me he'd be right out. He came out 5 minutes later just to tell me I needed to drive around and wait for 40minutes again or come inside for a refund. When I came inside, Jarrale said it wasn't his fault and if I didn't like it I didn't have to wait another 40 minutes and could just leave. I got my refund (after he tried to refund me the wrong amount) and will never visit your gas station or chain of gas stations ever again. I would think at the very least Jarrale would have offered a free car wash for the lost time and the inconvenience. read more

OK. I have a SUV, so I spend a lot of money on gas. I also happen to commute to and from San Jose and Stockton about 3 times a week. So I spend about $300 to $500 a week in gas. I USED to like coming here because it was close to my office and I can wash my car. I'm not going back to this place even if you gave me free gas. I had bought $96 dollars to fill my tank, the cap on credit card charges is $100, so I had to go inside to pay for the $8 to get my car washed. I showed the lady behind the counter my receipt proving to her that I just paid $96 for gas, so that I can get my $1 discount on the car wash. The issue here is not the $1.00 but the sheer petty greediness that the lady behind the counter showed me. She did not even warn me, but instead charged $9.00 regular price for the car wash. She then refused to refund the $9.00 charge and told me to come back the next day to get the refund, when she could have easily cancel the charge. So then lied to me and told me that had to charge me $9.00 because I was using a credit card. Keep in mind that I've been going here for years and to rip me off for a lousy $1.00 and then lie to cover up for trying to cheat me for a measly $1.00 shows any lack of civility. because of them trying to cheat me out of $1.00 and desperately lying to cover up for it. I'm refusing to spend my Corporate Gas card at this company. By trying to cheat me out of $1.00 I've resolved to spend my $300 to $500 a week corporate gas allowance else where. Its not the money it's simply the principle. One last comment, is it just me or do a larger than normal percentage of "Asian-Indians" cheat people by over charging $1.00 here 50 cents there or $5 here.... I cant tell you how many times, I've caught Asian Indians over charging me.... I had the worst experience here! Sat at the car wash for 40 minutes to find out once you get to pay you actually have to pay inside. No where else does it say you have to pay inside besides right when you enter the car wash. Once I went inside after waiting for so long the manager told me I could've left my car and came inside to pay... why would I want to leave my car at the front of the line and have everyone else wait on me? I will say that maybe 1 our of 5 times I can get a receipt at the pump. Their service is extremely slow and having to go inside to get a receipt defeats the "convenience" of using a credit card at the pump. When I complained about this, I was told that the owner is aware and the employee spelled out that it "was not her fault". Aggghhhhh! Did she apologize for the inconvenience...NO. Did she give the impression that she really gave a darn about the problem...NO. I was simply a complaining customer that was ruining her day. In my opinion their prices are high, their attitude sucks. And I am very suspicious of always having such difficulties in getting receipts. They can kiss my business...GOODBYE! read more

I won't really comment on the gas prices... they're pretty average. But the car wash is something I'm sure everyone is interested in. For the price, you get a pretty decent wash. If you're not the type that is afraid of automatic car washes, I'd recommend it. It's the old style with the huge moppy thingies so it will probably leave swirl marks over time... but it gets the job done if you're in a hurry. read more

This Shell is terrible! I went here a few times and the car wash was broken. The young guy who used to work here was nice so I came back and took my chances (it was broken on two occasions). Then, I went one day and there was a lady behind the counter. She was really rude. Their vacuum was broken and not only did she refuse to refund my money but also refused to put a sign on the broken vacuum so, in effect, they would continue to steal money from people. She actually said to me "we're not gonna do it". I took it upon myself to put a sign on it warning customers their money would not be refunded. The next time I went there about two weeks later there was a sign on the vacuum reading "out of order". Hmmmmm. The same female employee was working and would not let me get a few dollars gas in order to get the discount on the car wash. Then, she said "you have to get AT LEAST $15 or $20 worth of gas to get the discount (only $1 discount) but I didn't have that much room in my tank. The weird part about that is the variable amount. It sounded like she was making it up on the spot. Which is it, $15 or $20? Then, I stated "wow, I wonder if Shell agrees with that" since other stations don't seem to care how much gas you get. She then replied "well, you can contact them and check on that"-- this said with a sassy tone. The other Milpitas Shell which is only a few minutes north on Jacklin offers a better car wash --AND gives a discount price (15 cents a gallon cheaper) if you buy the car wash. They don't even require any purchase of gas to get the $7 price. Their price is also way less for a gallon before the car wash discount. Don't waste your money at this place where they hire lazy and unethical employees and act like they could care less if you patronize this place. read more
