BEWARE OF DISHONEST PRACTICE. On Thursday, 2/26/26 at approximately 9:50 a.m. I stopped at the Shell Gas/Carwash on Calaveras Blvd to get gas and a car wash. My car was already clean but I wanted to get the gas that was cheaper if you also got a car wash. I figure it couldn't hurt sprucing up my car with a car wash. I pulled up to gas pump #5, I got out of my car and I walked to the cashier booth to pay the attendant. It was very hard to understand the woman inside the booth because she had a heavy accent and at the same time she talked fast. I wish I had recorded her but who know you are going to need video evidence until after an incident goes wrong? She kept changing the instructions every time I had to encounter her presence. She turned what should have been a simple process into a confusing one. She ended up being no help and I left there dissatisfied as a customer and potential returning customer. The female employee in the booth told me that I had to get the car wash first. I repeated her instructions back to her, to make sure that I understood her. I repeated, "You want me to get the car wash and then return to you and then I can pump gas at the discount price?" She said, "Yes." She also added, "You want to pay cash, I help you." I happened to be holding cash in my hand. However if needed to pay by card, I could do that too. At this point, no options were given. I was told to go to the carwash. I got back in my car and drove to the right of the two lanes to pay for a car wash. Before I could get out of my car to pay at the self help machine, a male employee who spoke limited English blocked my door and indicated for me to stay in my car while he operated that machine for the car wash. He took my bank card and he used it in the machine to pay for my car wash. I couldn't see from my position in my car anything he was pressing on the touch screen to access the car wash. I trusted that I was paying for the inside/outside car wash so I could get my gas at $4.69 a gallon instead of $4.89 after the car wash. After my car was cleaned, I pulled up to gas pump #9 to get my gas. I returned to the payment booth to pay $40 for gas. I gave the attendant two twenty dollar bills along with my receipt for the car wash. I saw her put the money in the right front pocket of her pants along with my car wash receipt. Then she pointed for me to return to the pump where my car was to pump the gas. I returned to pump #9, I lifted the pump handle and as I was holding the handle in one hand, I used my other hand to push the button for 87 Octane. Before I even started adding the fuel, I noticed in the price window it showed the higher price $4.89 a gallon and not the car wash discount price $4.69 a gallon. I positioned the gas handle with the tip of the nozzle on the edge of my gas tank without touching the lever to access the gas. I only used the rim of my gas tank to hold the nozzle in place while I went to get the attendant's attention to let the employee know that it's showing the wrong price. She returned with me to the gas pump and she pointed to the $4.89 and said, "Yes, that's the cash price!" I reminded her that I had the car wash and it is not the price promised to me for a car wash. She doubled down and said it was. I told her, "No, it's not." I walked over towards the street where I could see the Shell Sign with the prices listed on it as she followed me. I pointed out the prices. Then she said, "I had to pay at the pump for that price." She never said that nor did she tell me that when she took my money and my receipt for the car wash that I already paid for. I was feeling frustrated. A lot more back and forth continued until I realized she was not going to honor allowing me to get gas at the carwash price. I called the Milpitas Police because I felt like I had been scammed out of the gas price that was promised if I got the car wash. There are no signs instructing customers how to get gas with a car wash at the .20 cent less a gallon incentive. I had to rely on the Shell employee who misinformed me by telling me what to do without explaining anything. I bought a car wash that I didn't need and the gas that I needed from the beginning I could only get if I paid the full price. After the police came, the officer talked in the employee's language because according to him they speak in the same dialect. The police officer said there may have been a miscommunication due to the language differences. All the police could do was tell me that it was a civil matter. He also said I could file a consumer complaint, and something with the Better Business Bureau. I left without getting the gas I needed to begin with and wasting my time there. I drove to the Union 76 gas station on the corner of Park Victoria & Calaveras Blvd where the gas was even cheaper at $4.59 a gallon. Went on 8/17/25 and their drive through wash had a loose plastic pipe hanging down off the ceiling. It scratched all along the right side of our car and the cars after us. I tried to tell the staff, and pointed at it, but they didn't understand me or look where I was pointing. Don't go here. read more

The worst part is that my car came out filled with scratches on the hood of the car! It's going to cost me a fortune to repair and it will never look the same. Very sad. read more

I wish I could write this off as a "you get what you pay for", but these guys actually charge pretty high prices considering their "car wash" is essentially the same as leaving your car out in the rain. I pity the person who goes there for "detailing" work, because forget about the details, they don't even do the basic stuff properly. They work like they are afraid to pull a muscle trying to wipe the car body. They miss every obvious spot, superficially wipe their precious microfiber towels as if they don't want the cloth getting dirty, run the vacuum to just spread dirt around. A blind man would've done a better job than them. Lazy doesn't begin to describe these guys who giving honest immigrant workers all over a bad name with their poor attitude, work ethic and workmanship. They got a very convenient location with great visibility, and it's such an enormous pity that these jokers occupy it. read more

I took a truck to be cleaned and it cost $45 which was rrasonable but a lot of areas inside were overlooked and not cleaned well .I pukked over and cleaned myself. If you do go make sure you look before you leVe and have them clean better. read more

Terrible job and service! Not sure if under new ownership, but the crew is all Asian, nothing against them, however, no one spoke English. I paid $55 for hand wash. The hand wash was very poor, still had areas where there was dirt and dust, my front wheels still had brake dust and dirt that I could easily wipe off with my finger. The interior was still dusty all over my dashboard, Had a pet hair in the seat, creases, and the leather parts still had traces of easily removable dirt. It wasn't even bad to begin with as I get my car washed weekly if not every other week. I tried pointing this out a couple of times then just gave up. I paid $45 for a car wash which included floor mat shampoo and the since I have SUV I had move than 4 floor mat, the people did not want to do a shampoo my other floor mats or it was just they did not. My car wheel RIM got damaged after the car wash. I have been using them for about 2years overall the car wash was okay. You get what you pay for. Even after the premium car wash I will notice certain areas will not be cleaned well and have to point out and make them clean. Thing went okay until I took my new car into the car wash. Terrible business. I went there yesterday to get a wash for the exterior and vacuum for the interior of my car. The guy said they can't do the interior because they don't have the man power but they'd let me use their vacuums to do it myself or I can come up the next day. I came back today. Same excuse. They don't have the man power to do the interior because there's only 3 of them working. I told him that was what he told me yesterday. Then he said "ok, I can try". He showed me the options of what kind of car wash and we got the lowest tier because I just wanted a simple clean on the inside and outside. He then proceed to ask how dirty my car was and he opened the door and said "oh your car is really dirty. I need to charge you an extra $10 fee for a dirty car." WHAT?! $25.95 for a carwash + $10 dirty car fee? I would've paid $37 just to get a simple clean. I said "nevermind, forget it." Isn't the whole point of getting a car wash is for a dirty car to be clean? Why are they charging extra for a dirty car? My car just need a vacuum on the inside because of crumbs all over the floor. Note: - they accept Visa/MC now - there is a shaded area to sit down at (w/ a TV) - the worker does everything (including driving through the wash) - you get to pick from a list of different scent for your car (vanilla for me, too bad they didn't have chocolate or jalapenos or Sriracha scent, haha) - the wait for the basic ($17.95) is about 10-15 minutes - you get your ticket, get out the car, and pay at the cashier My car is a million years old so I'm not too anal about things but for a decent wash inside and out, I can't complain. Basic wash for $15. If you want a cleaned car drive 1 mile down the road, pay $17 and get properly serviced. Room for improvement. Water spots on the outside, water streaks on the inside, they didn't vacuum the backseat or the cup holders, they didn't wipe the interior and they didn't wipe the streaks off the windows and mirrors. I was very disappointed in the recent car wash I received. To begin with, they raised their rate for a basic wash by $3 which is substantial for a retired woman living on a small pension. In addition, they no longer allow you to use the vacuums to clean the inside of your car yourself plus they don't even moderately wipe down your car after it comes out of the wash. I asked to go through the wash again because there was still soap on the back window. Also there was something on the hood that I hadn't noticed before. The manager said it looked like tree sap and claimed another wash wouldn't clean it. I was not allowed to go through a second time even though the manager promised me a clean car prior to purchase. When I asked him to stop he kept going and then immediately vanished from the scene. I asked for manager and he totally declined that it was done at their location and it was pre existing. Had my Mom take her 2 SUVs to this place. First car was a Lexus GX460 (pretty big vehicle). Went through with the car wash no problem. About 30 minutes later she took her second SUV (Ford Explorer XLT) and when she tried to go through the automatic wash at first, I guess the bottom wouldn't latch onto the under side of the vehicle and basically lifted and then dropped the car down. We don't know if there was any damage ( going to check later) but they decided to just hand wash the vehicle. They also mentioned that there would be an extra cost because of the size of the SUV. Like wtf how you gonna charge extra for the Ford when she JUST took her Lexus in not too long ago. Also they weren't complying with Covid protocols. They said they would do a $50 upgrade for the inconvenience...but we were wondering wth that $50 upgrade was. $17.95 for a wash, wax, hand dry, vacuum, and scent of choice. The young Asian guy did a pretty good job at vacuuming all the particles out of my interior and getting all the dirt and sap off my car. I watched him and he was pretty detailed. Nice waiting area with a cabana and two patio areas to sit at with tables and chairs. It's very peaceful and surrounded by trees. It took a while, but there were two cars ahead of me so it was understandable. Convenient location right near the freeway. Gas station too. I really like how they hang the towels up to dry. The last time I got my interior wiped down, the towel was wet and moldy and made my car wreak of it for months! Almost like the mold got into my seats and started cultivating. Took my 4runner here after camping on Pismo Beach. I prefer washing and cleaning my own vehicle but I needed some help esp with the sand being stuck in my carpet. When I received my vehicle back, I was very impressed. Those crack and creases is really hard to get to but they were able to get 95% of the sand out of the carpets! The wash was excellent, everything was wiped down, no water marks or smears on my black 4runner (which is my biggest petpeeve!) Good job! My car is really dirty so, I thought that I'd go down the Shell car wash down the street and get it all sparkly clean. What a funky set up, but I guess it works. They do things a bit backwards here where they wash your car first, then dry it off, then vacuum. When it got to be my turn to have my car washed, the worker bee that was doing all the supervising told me that the conveyor belt had broken and that I was supposed to drive my car through the wash at 2mph. Oh yeah?? I didn't know what to expect. So, in the hella hot heat, the worker bees scrubbed down my car then the main worker bee guy motioned me to drive my car through. I'd never done this - only experienced it through the movies. I inched my way through the brushes and the thingamajigs that blow the water off the car. I made sure all my windows were up and movie car wash scenes flashed in front of my eyes as I drove through. I drove the car around to the other side to have the worker bees complete the job. They dried the car, cleaned the windows and wheel rims, and vacuumed the interior. Not a perfect job - but my car is cleaner than it was before! Don't know if I'll frequent this car wash again, but I gave the guys a little extra tip because, despite the heat, they did work their asses off. read more

AVOID THIS PLACE! I went in for the $8 car wash special and they broke my right mirror.. I drove down the street and noticed my right mirror was broken off so I went right back to the car wash. When I came back they KNEW what they did..they kept saying it was my fault (that my window was loose already) but I know that nothing was wrong with my mirror because I've washed my car so many times and never had a problem with the mirror falling off... The management is HORRIBLE..the guy that helped me told me he is the manager and kept yelling at us. He said that they will not pay for the damage. I even asked for a refund and he said no. This place has the worst staff and customer service that I've ever seen/ experienced. Update: this incident occurred almost a month ago and i STILL have not heard back from the station even after leaving multiple voicemails. read more

They know how to charge, but not how to provide the service we pay for. Most of the time with few people, and they don't understand what you are saying to them. I washed my car on December 23, 2020 and when I got home I had to clean the wheels and touch up the dashboard and windows and I noticed that in the trunk of my X3 they didn't even vacuum. Today, January 9, 2021 I washed again and the same problem. Dirty wheels, panel and glass with several spots where they didn't even touch. I have videos from both days to prove what I'm talking about. I am sorry that they work like this, but I will go further to find out who does a better job. I won't even supply gas there. I think my patience is over. And another detail, it seems that they scowl if we don't tip them, which I did today. read more
